"Our job is to find a few intelligent things to do, not keep up with every damn thing in the world."
I don't think it's my favorite, but it helps me. This is the one that I tell myself when I have this anxiety that I am not enough, that I don't keep up with others, and everything is overwhelming.
@Buzzingbeezon
Aw I loved this one, specially helpful for a perfectionist mindset and someone struggling with anxiety, I feel. Super okay to focus on one thing at a time, our pace is good pace always!💛
Be water my friend. Empty your mind be formless, shadowless, like water.
@ASilentObserver
one advice that my father always gave to me throughout life is, "education is the lightest toolbox. once you have it, you can go anywhere in this life and this world and make a path of life for yourself!"
@NewYorker11
Woah, if takes a special someone to have this extraordinary mindset, kudos to your father and thanks for sharing with us!💛
Education is truly a blessing!
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
thank you for your kind words friend!
@NewYorker11 That's a wise piece of advice from your father. An education can truly open many doors. How does that advice resonate with you? You must care deeply about learning and bettering yourself to take his words to heart.
@ASilentObserver
hi again! great question! this advice from my father, education being the lightest toolbox - it always resonated positively in my perspective of understanding how to prepare for one's future. definitely, education opens doors that could not have been opened without education, especially with becoming employed! and yes, everything my father ever said to me, i cared deeply about, because he has been there before and knows what advice to give.
@NewYorker11 your father's words of wisdom about education opening doors have really resonated with you. His validation of the importance of preparing for one's future seems meaningful.
@ASilentObserver
yes, very meaningful to me friend! my dad, he is my role model, as well as my hero, and thanks for your insightful and kind words, means alot!
@ASilentObserver
Hi, one piece of advice I once got was to remember that I can say 'No'. We often want to help others, do the best we can...but of course there are just some times when it's really not a good idea that we say the Yes word and actually say 'No, I'm just not able to do this at the moment'.
@RainbowRosie
As someone who struggles with saying No too, this was very assuring to read, thank you for sharing! Its definitely okay to say no to things/ people when we need to! It doesn't make us a bad person to set boundaries hehe! 💛
@RainbowRosie That is a good one. It sounds like being able to say "no" when needed is an important skill for self-care. What feelings come up for you as you think about times you needed to but had a hard time saying no? You're wise to be aware of our human tendency to want to help others while also caring for ourselves.
@ASilentObserver
Thanks for asking. I’d say feelings of guilt did come into play and concerns that it would look like I wasn’t committed (work situation), but then I had to remind myself in the long run it was important that I was truthful to myself.
If you are going through ***, keep going.
@Themystique1
I resonate with this quote too, gotta keep going indeed!💛
@ASilentObserver
"Give without expecting anything back."
@MoonViber
Awesome advice! This is my mantra for life since forever!💛
This is the word where we live we daily see every type of good ,bad , strange,odd and god knows what but we experience there existence it's now UpTo you what type of you want to be amd focus on being that instead of making mistakes and judging others love them all and eyes on prize.
Develop yourself... Work on yourself and make yourself better
@BlissfulBue
Always!💛

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
yeeeeaaah!
@BlissfulBue That is wonderful advice to work on self-improvement. What aspects of yourself have you found most meaningful to develop? I'm glad to see you focusing on personal growth.
@ASilentObserver
To be honest, when I heard that advice, I was going through a tough time, and I had to work on my self confidence and self acceptance.... As for now, since self development is a continuous journey... The aspect I'm working on most is aiming higher, taking initiative and assertiveness.
@ASilentObserver It's two of them that helped the most I think:
- One step in the 7Cups both Depression and Grief path: "Don't worry too much, put your worries into this cloud and let it fly away. You are not your worries."
- And the advice from my therapist: "When you're feeling down or overwhelmed, talk to yourself in such a compassionate way as if you would talk to your best friend or to your child."
I was, and still am, really harsh on myself because I learned it from my mother and didn't know anything else. I'm learning.
Hi there @mish3l I often see you in the forumland, interacting with others and it's so amazing to see how well you're able to reflect and articulate your thoughts always!
I love how you said "I'm learning" right after mentioning something you don't know of, I believe its important to acknowledge the gaps and try our best at filling them in.
I love that cloud exercise too, I guess its similar to sharing our worries in the cloud and watching them float away. You certainly aren't your worries and indeediooo, what a wonderful advice from your therapist too, to be self compassionate and treat yourself like your friend/ or like you're speaking to a child, so we can practice being more kind, gentle and patient with ourselves too!
Happy learning, you got this!💖
Hi Sun! Thank you for your appreciation and support! ❤️
Yeah I write a lot here lately, I'm reading a lot too. I'm still dealing with a lot in my head these past months and I'm trying to react to topics that I can relate to, just to see if it will help or not. Usually writing out what I feel helps me cope but lately it's spinning round and returning in waves and it feels like it's not enough. The things that usually work are doing the opposite now. Learning helps me cope too. I'm partially a scientist, I love learning and understanding how things work and I like to share what I learned with others so it may help them too.
I need to learn a lot about mental help to get better I guess, change the way I'm thinking. There are a lot of things I didn't know how to solve or approach, a lot of things I thought are okay but are not, a lot of things I did wrong because I didn't have any other pattern to follow. A lot of things happening that I didn't even know how to identify, or tell the reason why they were/are happening. There's always a way for learning and improvement.
And yeah, my therapist is super, I'm glad I found her 😊❤️
@mish3l Thank you for sharing the helpful advice and tools you've learned from 7 Cups and your therapist. It sounds like discovering ways to be more compassionate with yourself has made a positive difference. How have you found applying those lessons in tough moments? You're on a journey of self-discovery and it's courageous to be learning and growing in this way.
Hi! Well the second one completely changed how I see myself and also changed my whole perspective on what's happening. They both help me not to panic when the depression or grief waves come or when I get anxiety attacks. I already know what they are and am able approach them better.
As for the first one, being less worrying helps me get through the day easier. It helps me to be more patient with myself and the states I'm having.
That you said carry on with your friends and family no matter they do.
Thanks 7 cups of tea.
I am just a click away.
