Jealousy but make it Motivational!
Hi everyone,
I feel a lot of us try to hide feeling jealous/ envious of others or simply find it easier to dismiss jealousy as an emotion, probably because we are conditioned to think of it as something "negative" or something that can make us seem like a negative person?
There's some truth to it, I think because I too find it a difficult emotion to accept for similar reasons but I'm thinking, what if we try to look at a negative emotion through a positive light?
A listener friend here told me that there's no need to label our emotions as good or bad, they simply are emotions and each of them is valid, and I agree with them but I know it is difficult to prevent our brain from constantly categorizing emotions as good or bad, hence why using the word negative before this emotion here, I don't want to encourage jealousy or envy as an emotion because I know it is an exhausting one, just wanted to try and see if a positive spin could help us become more accepting of ourselves and others, as well as to encourage us to keep doing better!
Because I've realised that we usually feel envious/ jealous of something we lack or and would like to have. But if we use it as a motivating factor instead of something to put us down or feel inferior from others, or lose friendships and good relationships over it, then what could be better lol!
So if you like to reflect on this too, please answer the following:
1.What are some things that make you feel jealous/ envious of others? (You may have someone specific in mind while typing your answer and it's okay)
2.Would you like to have it in your life as well?
3.How would it impact your life?
4.What three things can you do to be closer to this goal?
Remember there's no judgement here. You are allowed to experience all emotions and feel as you do.💜
Really looking forward to hear from everyone

1.What are some things that make you feel jealous/ envious of others? (You may have someone specific in mind while typing your answer and it's okay).....I think its "human" and natural for those to feel envious of others who we feel might be doing better than us or succeeding more than us.
2.Would you like to have it in your life as well?....Striving for better to "have" better is a great goal to have.
3.How would it impact your life? ....I'm sure it would/could improve things in one's life that they desire to make better. Or want better for themselves.
4.What three things can you do to be closer to this goal?.....I believe we can always strive to be better, do better, set goals for ourselves, and work hard and stay consistent in them to succeed at them.
@PoliteOcean I agree it is human to experience jealousy/ envy and feel discouraged due to similar reasons, it does make a difference how we channel our emotions and what we do about it, striving to do better is a good way forward along with setting goals and working on them consistently all by ourselves for ourselves! Thanks for replying 💙 I love the colours in your reply haha, made me smile! 🥰

I am jealous/envious of others who seem to have great mental health and seem to live normal lives. This is why I cannot watch Hallmark---everything seems too perfect and seems to have a negative impact vs. a positive impact on me. (It's odd, I know.) 2.Would you like to have it in your life as well?
Yes, I would like my life to look more like Hallmark. :) 3.How would it impact your life?
That remains to be seen. We never really know how something will impact our lives only what we "think" would happen. Also, once you "have it all" it's only for that moment and then reality commences again. This is why "manifesting" what you want in life has never made much sense to me because anything can be taken away---even after you receive it. You can manifest something, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you are now on a different life course permanently. 4.What three things can you do to be closer to this goal?
Work on my own personal satisfaction/happiness, do activities/exercises to better my mental health, Accept that my life will never look like others, but I can have a version of that life while also accepting the reality in which I live in. Some things come down to attitude. I am just not there yet. :)
