Update: Share Your Story Badge Lock

User Profile: Heather
Heather January 19th, 2017

Quick update to let you know that the Share Your Story chat room is now badge locked to the Group Chimer badge (earned after 5 group chats). This is help maintain a safe and supportive environment.

I'd also like to remind users that every human is permitted to have ONE member account. Should you choose to create additional accounts in order to bypass previous mutes or bans, you may be muted/banned on new accounts without prior warning as this behaviour is a violation of our community guidelines. If you're unfamiliar with them, you can check out the community guidelines for members/guests here.

Thank you and happy chatting! :)

@LeGhost223 - It's an adult group support room, so it won't show up in your list. You'll see all the ones that are teen specific rooms. :)

@Anomalia

That hardly seems fair that there isn't a teen version of the specified room.

@LeGhost223 - We have a range of rooms on each the adult and teen side. Some are the same (e.g., Depression), but others are different (e.g., High School Support, Friendship Room are teen specific). While it would be great to have every room we can think of on both sides, we're limited by moderators and by participants because we want to make sure there are enough people engaged to actually have a discussion and that we can keep the rooms safe. Luckily, for any topic that you want to discuss that you don't have a group support room for, you can always address it in 1-1 support chats or in the forums.

@Anomalia

Thank you for explaining a teen room and adult room for a particular subject. It provides a correct forum when there are some age-specific and experiences that adult and teens can easily relate to because they are in that category.

@LeGhost223 You're not really missing anything. It's just another chat room where people talk about whatever.

Let's just state the elephant in the room here: all the rooms will eventually be badge locked.

@Phthalo ... as they should be. We may need the "Guest Support" back. I don't fully understand why that was closed, but I didn't ever go in there anyway. (sigh) Platy

I always said that restraint rooms by badge looking or close the room was useless because the trouble makers just move on an other room. how many rooms do you have restraint or removed because of it?? 5 rooms are now badge locked, and several rooms have just been removed. This measure does not help to protect our rooms, because they just go on other rooms.

@TortueDesBois

I agree completely. The trouble makers are not going to throw their hands in the air, and give up... simply bc the Room is Badge Locked. They'll switch to another Room, if they can't gain access 😩

@TortueDesBois i agree, what an utterly useless update - another update that works against people who, you know, actually just wanna share their story witha group and not waste time in other rooms, 7cups again shows that it doesn't care about their userbase - but about their own popularity, this is a poor excuse for damage control, and not an act of trying to protect people - the room's traffic will hit a new low, and before you know it, it will be so unpopulated by anyone that it will be removed entirely.

All the rooms have their own unique clique, and without it's own clique, the room will slowly die, why have it badge locked if new members is never going to ever realize it exists?

there are a few members in that room who like to attack new people... but hey, lets lock it away so nobody can find it... this place is slowly becoming like NAZI Germany...

@LonesomeLoser While i think that's going a tad bid too far, a censorship campaign has been going on for a long time now, it started 1 and a half years back, and has been going steady into the extremes, the small number of people in the administrator team think they know you better than you know yourself, therefore they see it fit that they have to protect you from yourself - so their platform looks like a clean and neat place for a small minority of over sensitive victim-cult busybodies that the moderators have an easy time coddling, they've never taken mental health seriously or respected the people who legitimately suffers, locking away this room is just another proof of that.
