Happy Birthday Sharing Circle
Hello & Happy Saturday everyone,
Today is Sharing Circle's 3rd Birthday. It has been three years since the Sharing Circle launched in the community and it has continuously grown since then.
Sharing Circle Group Chat created an empowering chat space where everyone comes together to share their emotions, experiences, and stories to listen to and support one another. In the past 3 years, almost 41K+ members listened to and supported, 5,545,901 messages were sent, and 28K+ hours of sessions were organized and hosted.
When we introduced the Sharing Circle, our goal was to offer an uninterrupted space where everyone gets an opportunity to share while feeling comforted and heard by everyone. All members, listeners, hosts, and leaders came together to make it possible. A huge shout out to all of them for in believing the purpose of sharing the circle and constantly helping to achieve it for all.
We believe that sharing and support are for everyone and we will continue to work hard to make them more accessible for everyone in the Group Chats.
Let's celebrate Sharing Circle's birthday by sharing your memories and wishes. Happy birthday to Sharing Circle! 🎉🎂❤️

Oh wow three years already! (SC and I were born in the same year, in 7 cups lollll)
Happy Birthday Sharing Circles! Thankyou for being a safe, supportive and engaging place for everyone to share and seek compassion! ❤
Big ups to these wonderful leaders (currently active and now inactive/ those that stepped down) for looking after the sharing circle project and giving it great heights! @Gozzil @Anna @CheerfulRose @CheeryMango @Lou73 @bookworm274 @Mimi @ASilentObserver @SuryanshSingh @WonderfulPersonIprobablyMissed and the many amazing listeners, members, and mods for fostering a wholesome space and making it what it is today~ a comfy space to be! ❤
I see some very close knitted friendships in this room, people learning to open up and share, people supporting each other (it truly is a great place to practice active listening skills also) and cheering each other on! ❤

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou So true , sun. We are all strong together and without your presence and support, it wouldnt be the same. And wow, looks like you and sharing circle growing together <3 Thank you for all you do in the community and being an amazing support and friend to us. <3
Thank you so much @Sunisshiningandsoareyou ☀ I love our Sharing Circle space and we have such a wonderful team of hosts both assigned and on spot and it really is all about the teamwork 💙💙
@ASilentObserver
Yay! I remember my first time hosting the sharing circle as an on spot host…hehe. It was fun.
Cheers to everyone! 💛🎉
MY favourite part of 7 Cups! Here’s to many more! ❤️
@ASilentObserver Thank you SC for being there for me when no one else was. Happy birthday to you!
Happy happy birthday Sharing Circle 🙌 🎉!
Happy Birthday, Sharing Circles!

I took this screen shot from an article about Sharing Circles for Humanitarian Aid Workers. Here is the link in case you want to find out more: https://www.mayarimer.com/sharing-circles
There is much in this article about building community, resilience along with creating a center of power which holds the energy, knowledge and feelings of the collective group that chooses to gather together for this healing time.
I have experienced this healing personally over almost three years of participating in Sharing Circles myself. I encourage those who are wondering what it is like, to try the experience.
Sharing Circles are not just for Humanitarian Aid Workers. They have an ancient origins from the Indigenous Councils of "The Hollow Water First Nation on Lake Winnipeg and, in Yukon, members of the Carcross-Tagish and Dahka T’lingit First Nations."
"Many non-Natives learned about Circles through their work. For example, First Nation Circle practitioners, along with non-Native Circle trainers, trained the entire staff and many in the community of Roca, Inc., a youth center outside Boston that works with gang, street, and immigrant youth. Minnesota was also a site of many of these Circle trainings by First Nation members." (source: https://livingjusticepress.org/origins-of-circles/)
As we reflect on the Birthday of Sharing Circles within 7 cups, I would urge us also to reflect on the ancient origins of this practice, which has now been carried forward not just for psychotherapy and healing work, but also restorative justice and rehabilitation work.
Kindly,
Patience

Happy Birthday, 7 Cups Sharing Circle!
I have found a most excellent article that describes ways to use the Sharing Circle online. The basic outline is similar to the therapeutic model used here on 7 cups.

To find out more, please refer to the article here: https://firstnationspedagogy.ca/circletalks.html
In the meantime, Happy Birthday!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this @VioletVeritas, its a lovely visual and it's what sharing circles are all about 💙💙
