Important Reminders: Sharing Circle & Group Chats

User Profile: ASilentObserver
ASilentObserver March 16th, 2023

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well and being gentle & kind to yourself.

I appreciate and am grateful to you all for the collective compassionate group work in the group chats to facilitate listening and support for each other and nurturing encouragement and courage to share.

Today I am writing this post to discuss a few things that surfaced in the last few days in the Member Group Chats. I believe with collective efforts we can address them.

  • Cultural and Language Diversity.

We are a global community where we connect with members and peers from all around the world. But when we are connecting globally, one key point to remember is that we are all coming from different backgrounds and cultures and it has an influence on how we can communicate. It is understandable and acknowledges the differences and how it influences the words which we use in the group chats. But, at the same time, it is our collective responsibility that we are mindful of our language to communicate.

We use English as a connecting language in group chats to chat and connect with everyone easily.

We use full usernames, partial usernames, or alias as shared by the member as per their comfort to greet and chat with them, but we do not use any slang like hun, babe, gorgeous, sweetie, to any and everybody as it may have different takeaways for each person. If no permission has been given or asked prior to using the slang, please refrain from using it with others. When using slang, you may refer to someone only if they have given you permission to do so. We should be mindful and take into consideration the comfort level of our peers when we are interacting with them.

Group Chats are a space where we all come together to discuss and support each other on certain similarities among us while respecting our differences. That is what makes the group chats and our community a unified place in a diversified culture.

  • Triangulation:

Triangulation is not a healthy approach to addressing a conflict or a situation. Talking to a third person about a situation over which they may not have a control or way to support you to address, it is unhelpful and only stretches the challenge you may be experiencing. That is why we recommend and encourage all to address any concerns and behavioral reports through proper challenges instead of indulging in triangulating behavior. It is against the community guidelines and you might face the consequences as per the Community’s Behavioral Report System.

The same is with sharing offsite information or encouraging offsite contact is not permissible. All of it is in place to protect the safety and privacy interests of our valued members. We want to ensure everyone receives better support and minimize stress.

That is why it is highly recommended to follow community and chat room guidelines and support us to amplify the compassion and support for everyone in the group chats.

  • New vs. Old Approach

As the saying goes, “Every expert was once a beginner.” We were all newbies once. But, the regulars of that time supported, encouraged, and empowered us. They modeled our behavior and we learned to create a better place for everyone with our careful and nurturing efforts.

But in the process at times, we somehow lose track that we are all newbies just on different levels and we are all learning. So, those who are newer than you, empower them. I would appreciate your resilience, patience, and encouragement to them. There would be things that would seem so common to us but for them it is new, so helping them understand will be impactful on a community level. They learn from us, so how we model our behavior is the key to cultivating learning and growth for everyone.

Let’s walk together and help a newbie make a comforting space for them here with us.

  • Handling Conflicts (Updated)

Oftentimes, we noticed in the member group chats, conflicts arise due to the content of the shares or other users in the room. It can be an uncomfortable and rather unpleasant thing to witness as our main focus of the room is to provide support in a safe, comforting, and welcoming space. When due to one or other reasons, it is interrupted or disrupted both newcomers and regular participants feel stressed, upset, and left at a disadvantage because the group chat isn't functioning in the way it should be.

We have noticed several instances where participants tried their best to de-escalate the situation. I appreciate the proactive approach to de-escalate it but in the process, somewhere some participants become harsh and strict with the guidelines but it affects the morale of the other participants as they feel unwelcomed and invalidated. It is important that we follow- the "Remind with gentleness and care" approach. They may not be fully aware of the chatroom guidelines and your gentle support and reminder would help them get it without feeling discouraged and unwelcomed or resulting in any potential conflicts.

While we appreciate everyone for doing their part to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all, let's ensure to be mindful and gentle in our reminders. And, if things become difficult, please allow room supporters, experienced hosts, and experienced members to help with it, and if needed moderation, please request a moderator/community moderator presence and support
through the Group Support Moderator Request Form.

We strongly encourage you the community to be mindful and gentle in your reminders to maintain an inclusive and therapeutic environment for all. We are supporters and we listen to support with compassion.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy

As a reminder, please know all group chats are operating on Zero Tolerance Policy. It means if anyone is found not behaving aligned with the chatroom and community guidelines to ensure a supportive environment, they will face consequences as per Zero Tolerance Policy.

That is why it is highly recommended that everyone help us to ensure a therapeutic and supportive environment in all the Group Chats.

  • Group Chats aren’t perfect.

We are all learning and making efforts to strengthen and improve group chats like Sharing circle, and Support Room, and yet to be perfected. It is a constantly evolving process and with every feedback and support, we get closer to making it better than ever. I appreciate everyone for being a huge part of this strengthening & improvement process.

But meanwhile, we ask you to be supportive and cooperative with each other and the community as we work together on getting there.

If you have any questions or concerns or any feedback, please feel free to reach out to @Lou73 (Sharing Circle), @BrilliantTurtle89 (Group Support Leadership), @ASilentBunny (Resources and Training), and me aka (ASilentObserver) anything and everything related to the Group Chats.

Thank you so much for walking with me on this journey of care, compassion, and support

Please Note:
Above points are applicable to all member group chats.

@ASilentObserver thank you for sharing this. I have a few questions and concerns.

1. There is a posted rule that English only is to be used in that chats. Has that changed?

2. While I understand that it is imperative that mods be the ones to take care of conflict and other issues that may arise, I think that room supporters and hosts (trained, experienced hosts) need to have a bit of authority to be able to recommend that, for example, someone who is too young to be on the adult side be switched to the other side. To ensure safety, we need to be able to first confirm if someone is on the wrong side. Can you please clarify exactly what is expected of hosts and room supporters with regard to this? Mods are not always readily available. Sometimes they are busy in other areas and cannot get to the room immediately.

3. Along that same train of thought, (trained) hosts and room supporters, in my opinion, do need to have the authority to remind everyone of the rules and to also encourage that people refrain from conflict. Can you please clarify the expectations there?

4. How is the progress coming with regard to the updates needed in the intro and connect boxes to better inform newbies of rules/guidelines/what to expect? There is still a great deal of interruption in the sharing circle that could be lessened with more specific phrasing in those places.

Thank you!

@Help127 First of all, thank you for your nurturing leadership and caring support in Sharing Circle. Second, thank you for raising these questions.

1. There is no change. English is the standard language of the group chat to facilitate easy-to-understand interaction for all. But, also it has been noticed members use greetings in different languages so it is allowed as long as they share the translation of it in English. But, it is limited only to greetings with translation.

2. I have the same understanding as you all and room supporters and hosts (trained, experienced hosts) continue to send gentle reminders in order to have a smooth conversation in the group chats. But, the point addresses the concerns where there have been some people who have been unwelcoming and harsh with the guidelines if one was being broken so the situation is already getting tense and can be difficult to escalate if there are numerous people trying to give instructions or enforce the rules. This is where it is effective to allow the moderator to help us out.

So, we are not limiting our leader's or members' abilities in stepping up to help de-escalate situations but it can be done with some gentleness and compassion because not everyone who enters the room has an understanding of what is going in and it’s always good that we have regulars who help the newcomers to help and get adjusted to the room and guidelines in place.

3. Of course, hosts and room supporters can facilitate the reminders of rules and encourage them to refrain from conflict. But, we have to be mindful and gentle in our reminders so they do not cause escalation instead of de-escalation. I believe our group chat leaders (hosts, room supporters) and listeners/ members are mindful and gentle with these reminders but for the reminder's sake of all, better to be careful than sorry.

4. The update of guidelines coming along, so I will share the new changes with us soonish. I appreciate your patience and cooperation to me.

Please do let me know if you have more questions. Let's continue to scale up the support and comfort for everyone.

@ASilentObserver thank you for your reply. I do have some concerns, and I appreciate the opportunity to be heard.

The original post here was, and still is, lacking in clarity and specific information in some areas, and I think that it is important that it be updated as soon as possible. The post states that only mods are supposed to take care of certain issues that arise and leaves out that room supporters and hosts should assist as well. There needs to be written differentiation among moderators, room supporters and trained hosts, and members for this purpose, not to single anyone out but to clarify roles. In other words, if what you mean is that moderators must be left to deal with the enforcement of guidelines and crisis and other situations, room supporters and trained hosts are allowed to help facilitate in the process of guideline reminders and crisis assistance, and members with no leadership position are to refrain from any guideline enforcement/assistance and solely request mod assistance, that is what clearly needs to be stated. You have written "of course, hosts and room supporters..." This post has caused a lot of upset and confusion (I can and will only speak for myself, but I have witnessed shares that indicate I am not alone in my feelings), and "of course" implies that there was clarity, when truthfully, there was not, and still is not.

To sum up, the original post needs clarification using specific and all-inclusive language designating who is responsible for what, who has what authority, and who specifically is being asked to not enforce guidelines. The post should clearly ask members to please ask for mod assistance and allow mods, room supporters, and trained hosts to handle situations as they arise instead of stepping in themselves.

With regard to the use of gentleness, I think the original post could include more of that with regard to appreciation for anyone who carefully attempts, in a kind and gentle way, to uphold guidelines and room safety. Gentleness should be used when reminding members to please ask for mod, room supporter, or trained host assistance.

I feel as though a lot of problems that might be occurring in the sharing circle have increased since the introduction of the "connect" button. The "connect" button is an excellent feature, but it should not have been unveiled until a specific "introduction" box (which was implemented after) with clear rules and expectations was already in use. I noted immediately upon the arrival of both boxes that changes in phrasing and more specific instructions are needed; that was months ago. I understand that things take time to change, but with something as important as the safety and security of the sharing circle and welcoming all newbies while causing the least amount of disruption as possible to current members at stake, those problems should have been addressed immediately. They still have not been. Simple changes to phrasing are all that is needed.

Finally, before unveiling major changes like the "connect" and "intro" boxes, it would be courteous and helpful to generate feedback from everyone involved in the sharing circle and/or other places that might be affected, included all scheduled hosts, room supporters, and leaders. Had that been done before the boxes were unveiled, I think a lot of problems could have been avoided.

Thank you for your reply, and thank you in advance for providing clarity to this post and attention to this matter.

Thank you to all admins, mods, leaders, hosts, and all members who maintain a supportive environment. I appreciate everyone here, especially those who are dedicated to the safety, security, and helpful environment of the sharing circle.

@ASilentObserver thank you OBS for the reminders!

To be honest that's why I don't go into the sharing circle when I was here a long time ago the sharing circle got very much for me. Which sometimes as you said requires moderators people that are equipped to handle the situation. It's not that I lack the knowledge but as you said people that don't have the badge or the rate the the leader ship to show member or listener that they have that ability they won't trust you.

In fact that happened to me and disability support yesterday I don't know if anyone told you but I was doing what the member ask because they were looking for moderator. However when I found a moderator for them I got blocked by then I hope I didn't get reported however if I did I will respect that.

The proper channels have changed? What I mean is my channels that I used there's no longer here. I have a new members to answer to which is OK it's all of learning curve we need to be respectful of each and everyone of individual aspects I think and bring to the Group and or chat room. Please forgive some of the grammar however this time I'm not going to fix most of them I want to show how speech to text give some challenges. That being said I will make sure that it's not legible or able to be understood. If this doesn't make any sense please tell me.

Until I get the appropriate criteria I have to prove to them that I know how they can find somebody that can.

7 cups is always been peace love and kindness.

@DonaldK Thank you Don for sharing your situation with us and I appreciate your presence and support in Disability. All group chats including Disability are the outcome of collective efforts and support. It is not a one-man show. So, we try to ensure that as a group we all come together and ensure the support and care for everyone, and how we do that is the key. Our group chats have a unique structure and how we communicate, remind, and de-escalate the situation allows us to diffuse any conflict and support each other together.

Proper channels mean how we report someone's behavior. Instead of engaging in conflict, better to use the mute/report, fill out the behavioral report forms, or get the help of a moderator or community moderators to de-escalate the situation. I hope it answers your questions but if there is any more question, please do share.

Hi, Obs and the Community at large,

Thanks, Obs, for your well-written and thoughtful letter. I have a few points of clarification and feedback. Pardon me in advance if these seem picky. Obviously, I think about Sharing Circles a bit too much. I admit that.

When I landed on 7 cups almost three years ago, and landed in a Sharing Circle, and researched the origins of Sharing Circles, I quickly realized their power to change people for the better towards a sense of community and belonging. A well-run Sharing Circle brings a lightness to the Being, a sense of bonding and understanding of struggles of others from around the planet, and a feeling of empowerment and joy at being heard.

Sharing Circles should be less about the rules.

Sharing Circles are such a simple concept. Each individual person asks for time to share by placing a star like this * in a queue. Each person is then given space and time to explore and discover their voice, up to a certain time limit, with or without supportive comments.

Why turn something that is so simple: handing a “talking stick” or “microphone” or “seat on the sofa” to the next person, into something so complex and fraught with angst?

1. Triangulation vs. Gossip or Rumour Spreading: “Triangulation” is a term that within 7 cups describes a behavior that is looked on as a no-no within the 7 cups community, but I would like to point out that it’s a well-known research term within the Social Sciences Research field, and is a term used, in a positive sense, to verify data from multiple sources. In my job of writing educational reports, an assertion made without triangulation is considered a weak argument. For example, if a researcher says X about Y, then they are required to be able to “triangulate” or demonstrate from multiple sources (school, home, community, place of worship, play group) etc. that X happens across settings with Y. I can see why “triangulation” would not be helpful when one is talking specifically about “rumour-spreading” or “gossiping,” but I would not put down the whole concept of triangulation per se, because of its reputation in social sciences research. For reference, here is a definition of triangulation in research: “Triangulation in research means using multiple datasets, methods, theories and/or investigators to address a research question. It's a research strategy that can help you enhance the validity and credibility of your findings.” (source: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=triangulation+in+research&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)

Even the link Obs, you reference, leads directly to a post that is entitled something like “Gossip.” I would suggest that instead of using the term “triangulation,” which might be confusing to scientists who frequent 7 cups, that you use the terms “gossip” and “rumour spreading,” which definitions fit more accurately the behavior that I think Obs is referring to as being discouraged in our community.

Gossip definition: casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.

(source: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=gossip+definition&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)

Rumour-spreading definition: Unverified information received from another; hearsay. tr.v. ru·mored, ru·mor·ing, ru·mors. To spread or tell by rumor.

(source: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=rumour+spreading+definition&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

)

2. Term “mini-modding.” Someway I find this slightly disparaging and condescending to those in the Sharing Circle room who are trying to follow some simple rules within the room. The fact is that mods are not always or even often present in the Adult Member Sharing Circle Rooms. In fact, this is a question in my mind, why is a mod or host not assigned for each open Sharing Circle session? Listeners have Sharing Circles, but I don’t believe the Sharing Circle room would even be open for Listeners unless there was someone to host it. I think the same should be the case for the Member Sharing Circles where, if anything, Members (especially new ones) know less of the rules, it’s a Member’s first entry point to 7 cups, and they would not be expected to know the rules. The fact is that many hours of the Sharing Circle go without volunteer hosts, or there is a reluctant host, or there is a member-powered group which has (in my opinion anyway) dubious therapeutic value. I would suggest scrapping the term “mini-modding” as disparaging of the efforts of some members to bring order to what can be a very chaotic and disruptive room, and instead, give these “mini-mods” ample rewards and affirmations for caring about following the rules and trying to support the work that actually should be done by facilitators or mods.

Thank you for reading the above ideas.

I have shared with the administration five suggestions for changes to the Sharing Circle Rooms.

1. Change the name from “Host” to “Facilitator,” and give lots of perks to people who choose to facilitate sessions. I would suggest that these Facilitators be given cheers and and lots of positive affirmation for their pro-social work.

2. ISharing Circles Room only be open at scheduled time (like the Listener Sharing Circles), when someone experienced is facilitating and there is a paid mod present who has the power to gently explain and enforce rules, welcome newcomers, perhaps up to four hours per day. I would suggest this being a paid mod. I would suggest that it possibly be volunteer mods in the case there is a schedule for the room to be open, but I would suggest that a paid mod be available as a backup present at all times to any volunteer mods, to help moderate any difficult or controversial situations.

3. I would suggest that new Members would understand the flow and therapeutic effect of the Sharing Circles better if they have had the opportunity to participate in well-run Sharing Circles. I have been told that the paid mods must supervise up to a dozen rooms, including the teen chat rooms! I understand Social Services personnel are not paid a very high salary. Why not hire someone just devoted to the Sharing Circles if it’s truly a priority for 7 cups? (And I would suggest that it should be a priority! It’s very special!)

4. I would suggest that the capability for conversations in the Sharing Circle Room be transcribed and recorded be turned on. I have been told there is the technical capability for that, but the technology has not been set for it. This current lack of recording places the burden of proof of any behavior reports on the person who perceives their rights were somehow infringed. It means that in the moment of conflict, that person must take screen shots, fill out a lengthy report, and take valuable time away from other activities. Most are not willing to do that.

5. As one person here suggested, there should be a way to just click and instantaneously report an offensive or disruptive statement, and a way to instantaneously flag a mod (not through the unwieldy 5 page report now in effect). Of course, if mods were already assigned and present in the room, present and aware I should say, supporting the facilitators, this might not be necessary. Also, this would not be a substitute for having the sessions recorded, since sometimes to identify a conflict it is necessary to read what led up to it, and what happened within the situation. Some conflicts can be subtle or difficult to discern.

I have found that there is a lot of power in people discovering their personal voice. Sharing Circles gave me the encouragement to quit my job, start my own business and publish a book! Others have progressed through destroyed relationships, or intense trauma, are working on anger management, or the process of complex grieving, or simply can share a funny story with friends. These are all things that crisis lines cannot do. There is a vast grey area between a crisis and the kind of long term positive, cheering support that is possible through 7 cups. I do believe 7 cups does better than any other place I have seen at fulfilling and meeting this need, a worldwide need, for compassion, for dignity of the person, for giving a small space of up to 7 minutes to the many unheard voices in our world. All that is really needed is an internet connection and the desire to participate. And here we are!

@VioletVeritas I want to personally thank you for putting all of your thoughts into words and for the suggestions being made. The sharing circle is very special and important to me as well, and I think that you have expressed valid concerns and some great suggestions.

I also appreciate you bringing up that the term "mini-modding" can be condescending. As I think one of your points is, more credit and assistance should be given to those who volunteer their time to help make sure the room runs smoothly, instead of using terminology that can be disparaging. None of us do it for the credit, but it would be nice to feel appreciated and for expectations to be made clear (in this post) instead of being chastised for trying to help. (This is not to say that leaders and mods are not appreciative, because they are; I feel a bit underappreciated and unheard by admins, if I am being completely honest. I have been asking for assistance and changes to be made for quite a while in the sharing circle to assist with interruptions, and I do not feel that enough has been done by admins to address my concerns. I am patiently waiting.)

I want to give a special thanks to @Lou73 and @CommunityModLou for all of the extra support and hard work given for the sharing circle and to Cups in general.

Special thanks also to our wonderful hosts and room supporters, too many to name.

Again, thank you.

@VioletVeritas

Hi Violet, Thank you for your presence and support in the Sharing Circle and Group Chats.

I appreciate your thoughts and concerns. I, 100% agreed with you on how Sharing Circle empowers everyone and facilitate support and comfort. It has the “power to change people for the better towards a sense of community and belonging. A well-run Sharing Circle brings a lightness to the Being, a sense of bonding and understanding of struggles of others from around the planet, and a feeling of empowerment and joy at being heard.”

Sharing Circle is all about encouragement, support, and listening, and as you mentioned the basic rules are the same as forming a virtual queue to keep a track of turns and everyone takes turns to share and receive support.

But also our community is unique, group chats have a unique structure where we are text-based and online version, so in order to bring everyone together and ensure effective interaction, we needed some additional rules. But they are not in place to complicate the process but ensure everyone experiences empowerment and support.

Now, the two points that you brought up- Triangulation and Mini-Modding.

1. Triangulation vs. Gossip vs. Rumour Spreading. There is a thin line of difference between the three and at times it seems one or another but the focus is to address the unhealthy approach which does not bring any solution to the problem. We have a bunch of posts on Triangulation and here are two that point out why triangulation isn’t helpful- Post Link 1 & Post Link 2.

So, we can use gossip, and rumor spreading as substitutes for better communication if that seems to have a clearer message than triangulation. We want to ensure that all concerns get addressed timely.

2. I hear you and understand how mini-modding can seem disparaging and condescending to all who are trying to ensure everyone is on the same page and have healthy participation and support. But our intention wasn’t to come across as unappreciative or disregarding the feelings and efforts of anyone. But focusing on a situation where some sounded unwelcoming and harsh with the guidelines. We all need to be mindful of how we remind the guidelines of all who are probably new and unaware of how to do the right thing. But, if the situation escalates, better to get the help of a moderator or community moderator as they are equipped to deal with such difficult situations and maintain the support environment.

So I appreciate the support but also recommend everyone to be gentle with each other and help us maintain the support for all.

The suggestions you suggested:

  1. I am open to renaming it as a facilitator but we wanted to keep it simple and easy for everyone to recognize the role as not only sharing circle but other group chats and also having discussion leaders and hosts who facilitate the sessions and guided discussions in the group chats for both members and listeners. But if we think “Facilitator” would be a much better term, then surely we can work on it.

Second, @Lou73 (Sharing Circle Head) already awards cheers and appreciation to all SC leaders at the end of every month. Also, we all appreciate and value the contributions of all hosts and all participants for their compassionate presence and support in Sharing circle and other group chats. So, if you have any more suggestions or ideas on how to appreciate or recognize the efforts and contributions of everyone, please do let me know.

2. As we discussed 1-1 as well, we cannot limit Sharing Circle hours because it supports members from all time blocks. And, closing any bunch of slots would mean taking away the support from them which isn’t our goal. We aim to scale the support and compassion for all. But I recognize the need to upgrade the training and information which we already have been working on. I hope that allows us to strengthen it further.

3. I hear you and Sharing circle and all group chats are our priority to facilitate support and care for all. But, at the moment we do not have the bandwidth to increase it but I am sure in the upcoming future we will get there as well. In the meantime, @BrilliantTurtle89 and I are working on increasing the moderation and exploring ways to double the moderation. We will start small and try to bring double moderation in some time blocks and eventually, I hope we get 24/7 coverage too.

4. & 5. We will be able to enable the chat history in Sharing Circle. But also, exploring our ways to simplify the reporting process too. So, we going to strengthen it further as well.

I am glad that sharing circle helped you progress in your life and we hope it does the same for all who join Sharing Circle or other Group chats. We will continue to take small steps to better Group Chats for all. But while we do that, I appreciate everyone’s patience, support, and contributions to get there.

@ASilentObserver

Hi, Obs, Just a short note to say thank you for your response. Since your response, I researched triangulation in psychology and I see it's a common term in the field of psychology to bring a third party into a conflict. I was confused because of the different usage in research.

My heartfelt wish is that Sharing Circles could be brought back to their simplest form: just people sitting around in a circle passing the mic or talking stick around, only online.

Sometimes more talking and more rules just makes it seem awfully complex. Some people seem to just really want (or need) some minutes of sitting quietly during their turn, while other people are sending healing energy or just energy that allows that they also are part of the community. The silent ones. Silence is also powerful. And I think that should be ok.

I still think safety is a major concern. I appreciate this is an area that is being worked on.

I have to think about the other statements you made. Please allow me some time to think.

Thank you for responding.

@ASilentObserver

I had to look up the word "bandwidth," because I thought it was insider lingo for "funds" or "personnel power" and I wondered because of many here possibly not having been exposed to radios or shortwaves (we had both, back in the day), and I found out to my chagrin that bandwidth is defined as:

  1. ELECTRONICS
a range of frequencies within a given band, in particular that used for transmitting a signal.
  2. 2.
the energy or mental capacity required to deal with a situation.

So, maybe I am too old.

Maybe I don't have the "bandwidth" right now to deal with all the controversy in Sharing Circles! I liked it back when it was simple! The olden days, my friend, in my memory bank they were golden! Peace love and joy, like Donald D said, that was what I thought 7 cups was all about. Maybe I'm just an old hippie!

I'm confused by what we should do. So if a teen is in an adult room and mods don't come you don't want us to share the protocol to the member?

@AffyAvo I am sorry for the confusion Affy. We can. We need to ensure all of us share and guide one with gentleness and kindness instead of being harsh.

@ASilentObserver I can agree with being gentle in the messaging. The OP didn't seem to be indicating that. Beyond situations where reminders are needed I'm not sure what we're being asked here.

It's confusing with all the rooms being lumped together in this 1 discussion. Last night I was in room that had spam that was present for over 4 hours. I don't think a room like sharing circle goes that long without a mod appearing.

I'm not sure what the proper method is. The mod form isn't bringing in mods despite being told it's working. I thought there was a room alert keyword trigger but that doesn't seem to be working either. PMing the com mod works but often with significant delay (ie. 20-30 minutes) and the com mod schedule isn't always up to date so it can be a guessing game who to PM. The best option appears to be using a listener account and getting help in LSR but for members the option seems to be room hopping looking for an active mod. So members actually have less options and more effort needed than listeners do.

@calmMango9611 It has definitely worked in the past for me, but the last few weeks it hasn't been working. I can submit it, but it's not getting any attention.

@AffyAvo I am tagging @ASilentObserver to see what they can do about this. I will also send him a pm, to have them reach out to you. I am so sorry that you're having issues, with the er form. Hopefully, they can get this issue sorted out for you. Please give ASilentObserver, sometime, to respond back. I am going to pm them right now. Please let me know, if you hear back from them.
