Oh my gosh, Marcelo, I could go on and on about how Sharing Circles saved my Life! When I found out about the origins of Sharing Circles from the Councils of Indigenous Peoples, it was like my Heart caught on Fire, and I was finally able to find my Voice, that was Buried under years of being Questioned, Doubted and Suppressed. After participating in Sharing Circles, I finally published my first book outside of Academic Work! I can honestly say the Sharing Circles gave me the Confidence that how I said things, even on the days when it was Badly, or Through Tears, was Worthy and Enough. That's what a Supportive Group that is actually Listening can do, and did for at least Me.

How wonderful, Tas, that the Sharing Circles had such a profound and positive impact on your life. It sounds like you've not only discovered a newfound sense of self, but you've also tapped into a wellspring of confidence and creativity that was buried deep within you for years. That's truly amazing!

It's wonderful that you've learned about the origins of Sharing Circles from the Councils of Indigenous Peoples. That these circles have deep roots in history and culture, providing for uncountable generations a safe and nurturing space for people to express themselves, just as you've experienced.

It seems it was like finding a key that unlocks a treasure chest within your own soul, isn't it?

I can imagine how your heart must have felt, that surge of passion and enthusiasm that comes when you finally find your voice after years of being questioned, doubted, and suppressed. It might be like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Such an epiphany to realize that your thoughts, your words, and your experiences are such a treasure and really matter!

And hey, kudos on publishing your first book outside of the academic world! That's a remarkable achievement, and it's a testament to the power of the Sharing Circles.

I agree that sometimes, all we need is a group of people who genuinely care and are willing to listen, especially those days when things might not be going smoothly or when tears are involved. It's beautiful to see how this supportive community has nurtured your growth and helped you recognize the value in your own voice.

Keep embracing the power of your voice, and let it continue to lead you down your amazing path of self-discovery and creative expression.

Your story with the Sharing Circles and your creative journey is very inspiring. It made a great impression on me.

Thank you, Tas!

I am very grateful to you for sharing your story with me.

@Lou73

Congratulations, Lou, on the amazing success of the Sharing Circles, as reflected in these wonderful statistics.

I have always suggested people, at the end of one-on-one chats, to attend the Sharing Circels, as I consider them the least intimidating and most supportive means of group support, where they can share at their own pace, their time being respected, their voices clearly heard and validated.

"Quality time" that translates into quality support.

And the quantities are large as your statistics show.

It's almost a miracle how such an effective, high-quality method can be scaled up to such a large group of hosts, amount of sessions, and people helped.

So it does have a very very large impact!

One of the most supportive experiences Cups has to offer, for sure, open to anybody at anytime.

Thank you for the time and energy you so lovingly devote to this, which has benefited and continues to benefit thousands of people in need of support!

Marcelo, it's really such a simple concept: People sitting in a Circle, Passing a Talking Stick around, and Each Person Has a Turn. If a Person has their turn and sits in Silence, then others can say Affirming things about them. When it's working, it has an almost Magical Quality of Bringing Unity to a very Diverse Group of People.

@VioletVeritas

Its effect is truly magical!

And its simplicity is key, as it facilitates anyone joining (no complex rules to learn), and makes it possible to scale it up, keeping the experience's quality and effectiveness.

When scaling up human-based support activities, there is the problem of deterioration of quality. This can be seen in Cups with one-on-one chats, for example. But it's a universal problem all growing organizations have.

Sharing circles are very robust in that respect. If well managed, the experience can be kept genuine and very effective even if greatly scaled up, reaching large numbers of people with top quality and very effective support.

This is unique in Cups, and one of its greater strengths, I think.
