1.) How does the Holiday season make you feel Mentally & Emotionally?....How do you (or can you) find some balance in your overall "Wellbeing"?.....I personally love the Holiday season and it puts me in good spirits...., but I too can find it stressing at times in just the little things (like getting up the decorations, or finances etc...). Finding balance for me means taking my time with things (ie: decorations etc..), and setting "lists" of how much I'm spending or willing to spend.

2.) How can you keep or find 'Simplicity" this Holiday Season?.....Simplicity for me, means trying my best to not go overboard with things, and again, creating "lists" on what I'm doing, spending etc...and focusing on the parts of it I enjoy the most.

3.) What are some ways you can focus on your "own" vision of what you want your holiday to be or look like?.....Some ways I can focus on my own vision, is by doing things I enjoy. Such as watching my favorite holiday movies, keeping traditions that I enjoy when I can such as seeing Christmas lights or Christmas festivals, and just enjoying my family time.

4.) In what ways can you give yourself a "Boost" when you find yourself feeling stressed this season?.....A Boost for me, would mean either one of two things, either getting out the house and doing something I enjoy (or treating myself in some way), ….OR.... Simply staying home, cuddling up with my pup and watching a good show or movie, and doing absolutely NOTHING!

5.) What are some fun activities that you can incorporate for yourself and your wellbeing during this holiday season?!.....Well I like to shop. So whether that means getting out and about, or simply shopping my favorite online stores, I will do that. And also again, treating myself in some way, taking part in Christmas festivals or going to see Christmas lights, or watching some favorite Holiday shows. Or cuddling with my pup~

6.) What personal tips might you have for everyone on how "you" can find Wellness in this holiday season?.....To do "Whatever" you need to do to keep and protect your own peace, sanity, and take care of your overall wellbeing! ..... "If it costs you your peace, then its way too expensive"! :)

1.) How does the Holiday season make you feel Mentally & Emotionally?....How do you (or can you) balance your overall "Wellbeing"?

I feel like I rested enough. But, I've also not socialized at all and don't feel happy without getting in touch with a friend/boy friend.

2.) How can you keep or find 'Simplicity" this Holiday Season?

I just have to have inner belief in myself.

3.) What are some ways you can focus on your "own" vision of what you want your holiday to be or look like?

My own vision is to get changed out of pj's. And to be sitting up. I'm laying in bed for far too long playing games and watching Netflix till it hurts. My vision is to be healthy, active, and have passion for life. "more passion! more passion!"

4.) In what ways can you give yourself a "Boost" when you find yourself feeling stressed this season?

Buy something filling like a Starbucks peppermint mocha hot chocolate.

5.) What are some fun activities that you can incorporate for yourself and your wellbeing during this holiday season?!

At home face mask session!! Read a book/magazine!! Comment on the news to keep informed!! No judging self!! Play with my dog some!!

6.) What personal tips might you have for everyone on how "you" can find Wellness in this holiday season?

Do something that benefits you!

Hey Teal~ I think it’s great that you have a healthy vision for yourself. Being healthier & active are great ways to focus on yourself and your well-being (during both the holidays and Every day)!

Treating yourself to a favorite treat (and a holiday treat) is an awesome way to focus on yourself and give yourself a positive boost! I can personally agree to that myself! ;)

Oh I Love “pampering sessions”! I haven’t done a face mask/facial in a long time. That’s definitely a Wonderful way to take care of yourself and provide a stress-free zone during this time of year. Also definitely playing with our pets is certainly an amazing way to incorporate both some indoor & outdoor “feel good” activity this time of year. As well, all these activities are awesome stress relievers.

Sounds like you know exactly how to benefit your overall well-being through the holidays! Great job to you and keep up the great work. And best of luck to you as you incorporate healthier goals and activities!

1.) How does the Holiday season make you feel Mentally & Emotionally?....How do you (or can you) balance your overall "Wellbeing"?

I love the holidays, even though they are definitely more challenging in some ways than the safety of our 'normal' schedules. More family interaction time is always good, but it can be painful with family members that are not as kind as I would want.

2.) How can you keep or find 'Simplicity" this Holiday Season?

I love this question. My husband and I play this game where we try to find our "little win" (it sort of rhymes in our language). When we are doing something different than our usual work or normal schedules, we ask each other what our little wins are, so we know how to feel successful even if things do not go smoothly. For instance, so long as I am able to spend at least one afternoon or evening this holiday reading my book on my favorite lounger in our parents' house, I will have my little win. Even if other things are challenging. The little wins are always things that are in our own power.

3.) What are some ways you can focus on your "own" vision of what you want your holiday to be or look like?

I feel like my previous answer addresses this as well! 😊

4.) In what ways can you give yourself a "Boost" when you find yourself feeling stressed this season?

Another great question. I think spending a little bit of time alone when I can is helpful. I typically like to spend at least a portion of my evenings alone, or in the same room as my husband but doing something alone, so sometimes I miss that time during holiday social periods.

5.) What are some fun activities that you can incorporate for yourself and your wellbeing during this holiday season?!

It is always a good time for reading. I also love walks at night in the cold and beautiful nights. Especially when it's snowing, before everything has a chance to get trodden on and dirty again.

6.) What personal tips might you have for everyone on how "you" can find Wellness in this holiday season

I think if a friend asked me I would tell them to pretend it was the middle of summer, and they were making a list of what they loved about the winter. Then they could look at that list and see what they were able to do (e.g., "seeing your breath," "squash soup," "boughs of pine," or "handmade socks and hot chocolate.")

@nordurnStar

Hey there Star~ How wonderful for you (and your hubby), that you are able to create fun, yet effective ways to get past challenges & struggles when things aren’t always on track for you. And even more amazing that you are able to find your personal “power” in it! That’s also a great and effective way to find the simplicity in those times. (And as well during this holiday season)!… And an awesome way  to focus on your “own” vision of how you’d like your holiday to be. Keep up the great work with that.

I think “alone time” is an absolutely wonderful way to give yourself (and your well-being) a “boost” this season. Finding time for yourself to create a quiet & peaceful environment (even if hubby is in the room too as I do that as well!!)…is an excellent form of SelfCare this season (and Every day)! We all need that place of calm for ourselves to unwind from everything & everyone.

Yes this is certainly a great time of year to snuggle with a blanket (or fireside) and read a good book. And how lovely that you enjoy a good winter walk in the snow! (Oh how I used to love that as well growing up, but don’t know if these older bones of mine could take that cold anymore)?! Lolol …. but Fresh, white, powdery, fallen snow was always my favorite to be out in. It’s like it tends to drown-out everything around you, & all feels well and peaceful in the world around you!...Those are Most definitely Great and healthy activities there for your well-being!

It’s funny that you mentioned Hot chocolate in your “personal tip”. As I can’t seem to get enough of it this past week! It’s definitely something I look forwards to as a daily treat. And a great way to absorb some wellness time in this season!

Thank you so much for sharing Star!

Hey Pond,

Practicing Mindfulness or joining mindfulness groups and mediating more could be great ways to decrease any holiday stressors for yourself this time of year.... as well as a good way to incorporate your own "vision" for what you desire your holiday season to be.

Also doing extra things to "treat" yourself this season (such as Extra skincare, the skatepark, and being mindful of what you are eating) are all great & effective ways to take care of your overall wellbeing this season. Great job and keep up the great work!

Thank you for sharing your tips and responses with us....And Hopefully you find the "Balance" you need this holiday season!

1.) How does the Holiday season make you feel Mentally & Emotionally?....How do you (or can you) balance your overall "Wellbeing"?

Hmm... In the past, it was extremely lonely when I was single and childfree. It also didn't help that I'm basically "family-less" from growing up in a dysfunctional household. Now that I have my little one and my significant other in my life, I feel better. How do I balance my overall well-being?... I would say as long as I'm taking some "me time", then it helps me feel a bit better.

2.) How can you keep or find 'Simplicity" this Holiday Season?

Honestly? Just spending time with love ones and gaining small joy by doing hobbies or maybe as small as just drinking a coffee.

3.) What are some ways you can focus on your "own" vision of what you want your holiday to be or look like?

I don't normally celebrate holidays so... I'm not sure. This will be the true first time that I have celebrated in my own way. Before, I had to do what my ex-fiance/little one's dad wanted to do...

All I want to do is spend time with my little one and my partner.

4.) In what ways can you give yourself a "Boost" when you find yourself feeling stressed this season?

Journaling, support groups, reading, and sometimes doing chores or listening to podcasts or music.

5.) What are some fun activities that you can incorporate for yourself and your wellbeing during this holiday season?!

I haven't really thought about this...not sure to be quite frank. I guess, in general, I plan on just spending more time on hobbies if I can.

6.) What personal tips might you have for everyone on how "you" can find Wellness in this holiday season?

All I can say is that I know for some of us, the holiday season can be really depressing (it was for me). However, even when I was alone and family-less, I made a small "tradition" of spoiling myself and having a "me day". Maybe that could be helpful to others?

@ImpudentIncognito

Hey there... Thats great for you that despite your "up-bringing" that you are now in a position to enjoy the holiday season a little more with your Little one & your significant other. And its also great that you are incorporating some "Me" time to help with any stressors this season.

Thats wonderful that you are able to find the "simplicity" this season by spending time with your loved ones and finding the small joys in doing the things you enjoy! It really is about the "simple things'!

I think its great for you that you are now able to focus on your "own" vision of the holiday season by spending time doing the things you desire with those that you love and care about. Afterall that is what the holiday season is for.

Great job to you on giving yourself a "boost" when you need it through (Journaling, support groups, reading, chores, music and podcasts)! Sounds like you definitely know what to turn to when you are feeling the stressors. Continue to keep up the great work there!

Hobbies are definitely "activities" that you can incorporate for yourself if its something that is helping you and your overall wellbeing!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your personal tip to everyone in that (spoiling yourself, having a "me" day), and literally just taking care of yourself, pampering yourself if needed, and keeping those "traditions" can help during this time of year. Definitely helpful and beneficial suggestion!

Thank you for sharing with us!

1.) How does the Holiday season make you feel Mentally & Emotionally?....How do you (or can you) balance your overall "Wellbeing"?
I am lucky that I usually don't mind the holiday season. I usually just celebrate with my immediate family so we get along well. Sometimes I feel stressed out about finances, but we always make it work. This year to help manage financial stress, we're all doing a Secret Santa instead of buying every single person a gift.

2.) How can you keep or find 'Simplicity" this Holiday Season?
I think one thing could be to not go overboard. You don't need the fanciest lights or decorations unless YOU want them and it's not to compete with others. I think doing Secret Santa with your family can be a huge help as well.

3.) What are some ways you can focus on your "own" vision of what you want your holiday to be or look like?
I can journal about it and write down what I imagine the holiday season to look like. I can also talk to my family to see what they expect out of the holidays this year and see if we have similar ideas. I can then implement what I want to see if my daily life and around the house.

4.) In what ways can you give yourself a "Boost" when you find yourself feeling stressed this season?
Taking a nap is always huge for me. If I'm stressed, it's usually because I'm super burnt out and need a breather. I will allow myself time to rest.

5.) What are some fun activities that you can incorporate for yourself and your well-being during this holiday season?!
To make the holidays more fun, my family always does some holiday crafts every year. We are making window ornaments this year so we can decorate and design however we want. I also will take lots of photos of pretty lights and snow if it happens. I will let myself enjoy the season.

6.) What personal tips might you have for everyone on how "you" can find Wellness in this holiday season?
I think the biggest thing is to write down or talk with someone you trust about what you expect for the holidays. If you are worried about money, maybe find an alternate gift-giving way this holiday. If big family meals stress you out, maybe try to make time for a friend's holiday dinner. Try to do something this season that connects with what YOU want.

Hey Bri~

Sounds like our holidays are quite similar to each others... I know what you mean about the finances of it all...and the stressors there can add up quickly! I think its so great that your family has found a different way to help relieve some of those stressors this year by doing the Secret Santa. As this most definitely will cut down on finances!

I totally love your ideas on how to keep the "Simplicity" in this holiday season. No we certainly don't have to go "big and fancy" or spend alot of money. Keeping it simple can definitely be beneficial!

Journaling your thoughts can surely help in moving forwards in what you desire to see for yourself this season. And a great way to include your own vision of what you hope for. And by also including your family in on things and discussing things beforehand can definitely help in getting everyone on a "similar" page with one another! Great idea, and keep up the great work!

ahhh....yes... Naps are great! Our bodies know exactly what they need. Naps can be a great way to get that extra "boost" we need when we are feeling tired, stressed, and plain burnt out! Great job in boosting yourself with naps and allowing yourself the time to do so!

Wow....it sounds like you have some really fun and amazing holiday activities set up for you and your family to enjoy! I think spending "quality" time with your family doing these things in addition to doing what "you" enjoy are certainly awesome ways to keep things fun as well as taking care of your wellbeing this season!

I LOVE your personal ideas and tips on how to create a less-stressful holiday season! And how to find Wellness in it! Yes absolutely find or create other solutions on how to lessen the stress of the things that stress you out the most! And absolutely connect with the things that bring "you" joy!

Thank you for sharing so many great responses with everyone!

Hey Kate!

As far as books, I’m not much of a reader just due to my attention span…lol.. however, I do like Mystery, real crime, and yes a little Horror when I do or have read them.

As far as music, I’m like you in that I pretty much can go for all kinds (From pop, to rock, to R&B, to even a little country)...But I mainly like music that I can dance to b/c I love to dance! (And well, I’m a Zumba instructor lol)…. But my main true love Music Genre is Music from the 80s!!

I haven’t listened to any podcasts. I haven’t  really done that yet. But I’m sure it would be like true crime related or some true story. Lol
