🌞 This past week went by rather quickly~ ... I can't believe its already August. Summer has been flying by so fast, and I don't like it. We decided to take an Impromptu getaway to the Beach last weekend just to get away and "de-stress" for a bit. It was really nice to just get away. In all my years, I have never taken a getaway or vacation "Without" music or a playlist!.. But this trip, I realized the entire way, that Not Once did I turn on Music! I actually conversed and had meaningful discussion the whole way. I guess there really is a first time for everything~
🌴 Once back home at the start of the week I decided to give my body a rest day from Aqua & Zumba Classes or activity. My body told me that I needed it, so I didn't fight it. I decided to just get in my own pool and enjoy my time in there for a bit. Once mid-week hit, I took on my Aqua classes again.... I did manage to stay on track with Hydration and Sleep goals...... The weather here has continued to be very warm and humid, I did not get out for any hardcore walks this week. But was able to capture a few "morning" moments with my Pup in the cooler weather before the heat turned up. It was so nice to just watch him Frolic in one of our favorite places and just feel the cooler breeze on my skin. I can tell how much he enjoyed the change in the morning temps as well.
🍍 This weekend will be a bit busy. As it will be both my Pup's Birthday, As well as my Step-dads, and we will be celebrating both together~ Looking forwards to spending time with family.
@PoliteOcean Happy birthday to your puppies and stepdad! Awww.

@YourCaringConfidant
Awww… thank you so much for the kind post! My Pup and I greatly appreciate it! 😊
@PoliteOcean I probably should have done a boy puppy dog but this one was just too cute. 🤣 Take photos and make good memories. I love when owners celebrate their pets' birthday. Aww.
@PoliteOcean
I'm not sure I could do what you did and not have music. Music is a big part of my life. I give you a thumbs up for doing that.
When we exercise or workout regularly, listening to our body is very important. You did a great thing by giving yourself the rest your body was telling you it needed. Congrats on making the sleep and hydration goals. Keep up the great work.@CyclingThroughLife
Awww, well thank you very much for the very kind reply!
I must admit that truly was a first time in all my life for that. I have music on no matter where I go or what I’m doing. I’m also a dance instructor…. To be honest I didn’t even realized it happened until we reached our destination lol!
Guess there’s something to be said for good conversation?!
Have a great weekend
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
Hey everyone~ Welcome to AUGUST~ How are you this week? I am so glad August has started because that means the closer and quicker my time in school will go by.
🌴What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?! This week is a long story. I was offered a job by a lawfirm and told i would start in one week. I don't keep my phone near me and ignore it all but once or twice per day. so i checked it at 8:30pm to find two vmails from the firm saying they want me in at 8am the next day. i left a vmail saying i would be there. then about one hr later i checked my emails and found that Univ sent me an email wanting to know if i am still interested in my dream job. Of course i said yes. The interview is next tuesday. I thought about it and called the lawfirm saying that i thought we should hold off on my first day. I explained that I have been contacted about my dream job and will take it if it is offered to me. I further explained that i thought it most constructive if we did not start me because I didn't want to waste their time, but went on to say that I thought they were lovely people and had an impressive lawfirm. I went on to say that if they were willing to give me a second chance and if the job is not offered to me, that I would like to reapply to them.
Today, I didn't check my vmails in the morning and in the afternoon my phone decided to crash. By the time I got it working again, it was about 10:30 pm. It turns out that they left me a very nasty vmail because they did not check their voicemails. They said that if this is how our communication is going to go this is going to be a problem and they needed me to call them today before close of business, Not monday, not tuesday, not wednesday. And they said this all in a very snotty voice and said goodbye.
I texted them and told them that i called them twice thursday night and explained all the same things to them. This time I asked them why they did not check their voicemails. And asked them why they were not concerned if I had an accident. I then told them that I won't expect them to get this text so I will call them Monday to see how they want to proceed.
But after I sent the text I thought, I dont' want to work for them. Screw them if that is how they are going to treat me before they get the whole story, and they don't even care if I had an accident. So, I have the weekend to think about it, but I think I am going to call them Monday and tell them I no longer care to work there.
It took me a bit to get over their vmail. It was really nasty. But I'm fine now.
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~ Hopefully for you all your plans and intentions will come together on the Job hunt/offers. And that you will be able to do and take care of the things that you need to get done for yourself. Dermatologist and new glasses are definitely important visits to schedule.
Thanks for checking in this week and sharing everything with us and for letting us know how things have been going for you. Please check back and let us know how you've proceeded forwards with things!
🌞 Hey everyone~ Welcome to AUGUST~ How are you this week? I am feeling much better and in a better mind frame right now due to scheduled vacation time from work that started yesterday. I actually have another supervisor who stepped up. One that I can trust to make sure my guys get things get done properly. I feel like I don't have to worry so much about work while I'm not there for the next two weeks. With that said, check back in on the 18th or 19th of this month to see where my head is at because I go back on the 20th lol....
🌴What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?! I'll skip this one.
🍍 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~ I know I've been talking about my road trip to see my grandkids but it soooo much more than that. In the past, we used to drive right through 14 hrs. As I got older, we would stop once over night. This year we decided to make it "the road trip" We are stopping for two days each at two different beaches on the east coast on the way down. I will then spend 5 days with the kids and grands. Then, we are also stopping for two days in a mountain area more inland on the way home, driving through the mountain areas to get back, spending one more night randomly somewhere just to break up the ride. With that said, my girlfriend and I are big fans of the Food network show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" We have a "bucket list" of places we would like to eat that were featured on the show. During this trip we will be able to cross off 5 or 6 of those places. To be honest, we kind of planed the trip around those places lol......
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there~ That is great for you that you are feeling better and in a better frame of mind. Vacations are a great way to give us the break we need, avoid complete burnout, and put us in a better frame of mind Mentally! Its also great when we can leave important things in the hands of others that we can trust. Which also helps mentally as well too.
Trying to stay on track or have a wellness plan of sorts can be a challenge for many when we travel. Having a plan in place is definitely a way to stay on track better. And can also help make things more realistic. As we know our main goal while vacationing is to just simply "ENJOY"! I think your goal of eating as healthy as you can, in moderation, and trying to get in some sort of exercise is an awesome plan to implement. I think just simply walking around, playing with your grandkids (depending on the age of them) can be a great start in just getting in some type of movement!
The Jersey Shore is the first stop, Virginia Beach is the second. We will be traveling more inland on the way back home. Gatlinburg TN is about a 4 hr drive from where the kids are in NC. It's actually the opposite direction from home, but we both wanted to visit there. That will be our last place to visit before heading back north and east. I'm really looking forward to this....
@PoliteOcean Here’s how the past week went. My prayer life is non-existent because Alan and Amanda cause interference. I continued to read my theology book and art history books. Sunday I watched auto racing on streaming. Tues, Wed, and Thu Leslie’s grandchildren were making noise in the living room when I was trying to take my afternoon rest. It is so inappropriate. Wed and Thur Ashawn took me to the library where I read my poetical interpretation book. Ashawn doesn’t want to take me to the marina anymore for walks because it uses up too much gasoline. He gets paid for a lot more hours than he actually works, so he is well compensated for his gasoline usage. We are going to try different places that are closer to the library. I still got a couple of walks in this week. Friday I got a haircut which makes me happy. Saturday morning, Amanda didn’t feed me breakfast, so I had a protein bar. I’ve been taking collagen peptides for weight loss but I don’t feel any reduction in weight. I stopped using Helichrysum Italicum on my chest wound because it isn’t doing any good. I’m just going to wait until I see my dermatologist in a few weeks and see what he has to say about it. The towel supply has been pretty sparse around here so Ashawn says he has a couple of towels I can borrow. The first week of August is the 4 year anniversary of my moving in to Leslie’s house.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~ Thats good for you that despite not being able to have an adequate prayer life, that you are doing what you can to keep going with your studies and continuing to read up on your theology, history & getting to the library for your poetical interpretation studies. I don't think its right that your caregiver doesn't want to take you to the Marina for your walks anymore. I don't know what your contractual agreement with them is, or how they are exactly getting paid to help take care of your needs.... But I personally feel that if its something related to your well-being & health (which taking walks equates to that), then they should be obligated to take you wherever you need or want to go to help with that. As that is what they are getting paid for and getting paid to do! I would need to have a talk with them or with your agency about it. Especially if he is getting paid to work a certain amount of time but isn't living up to that!...It sounds like its more for his "own" convenience that he doesn't want to drive there, than the fact its affecting his gas? And afterall, he is Supposed to be working for "You".... But after all that, its still good that you were able to get in a couple of walks throughout the week. How nice that you were able to get in your haircut. I know how that is also an added benefit to our physical & mental health when we feel good about ourselves. The collagen peptides that you are taking, do they specifically state that they help with 'Weight loss"? Have you actually weighed yourself to see if there was any reduction on a scale? That was good that your caregiver helped you out by offering to let you borrow some towels. Hopefully it will help the sparse towel situation. After being at Leslie's house for your 4th year, how do you feel things are going overall as appose to where you were at before moving there? Thanks for checking in and sharing your week with all of us. Please keep us up to date on how things are continuing to go for you.
