**This past week went alright.... Still struggling a little with the thoughts/fact that we are already in August and how fast this summer has been going....Still finding myself at odds & ends & still stuck a little in the whole pandemic-mode of being a little too "relaxed" with things and motivation. But, I still continued to stay on track with activity goals and getting my steps and workouts in each day. But its the time "in between" that I'm not using more wisely to meet and reach personal goals. I find that the closer we get to September, that things can become a little more challenging as we get nearer to the last quarter of the year.

**Classes went well this week for both Regular Zumba and Zumba Gold....Had some old members who used to join me at the Former studio I was at finally able to join me this week for the first time. It was nice to see some more familiar faces, and nice to see the "loyalty" as well, which tells me that I'm doing something right. I'm still going back and forth in my mind trying to figure out "WHEN" I want to go and approach the owner for a new "InDoor" space that I've stumbled upon. Its a beautiful dance studio where they give different dance lessons etc... .(But.. .What I would like to do is "Rent" some Floor Space from them!).... BUT.... I've been a little Nervous to go and talk with the owner/manager etc... It was easy when this all first happened to me, to just teach outside since the social distancing was all still fresh and new. And I didn't have to think about things right away.. But... now, once again, Fall will be approaching sooner than we know it here. So I have to be prepared. .. And while I still am trying to be careful with everything, I'm also trying to be careful of "when" to approach this opportunity... But man, this place/space would be PERFECT! (Good and Positive Vibes appreciated for when the timing is right)~

**Today is going to be HOT out.. but its supposed to be sunny and beautiful... intentions are to start the day with a friends ZOOM workout, and then maybe walk the local track to get the majority of my steps in early in the day. Maybe swim for a minute as well if I can fit it in,... but we'd like to drive out and check out some new places that we haven't had a chance to yet.~ And just go where the day leads us~

ENJOY THE WEEKEND~

Hello PoliteOcean,

Adapting to the new normal is complicated for everyone but you seem to do it fine. However, as you notice, better to keep on being careful and let's not forget that it's not over yet.

It's good to hear about your classes and the familiar faces. Of course you are doing things right and you'll see better outcomes and rewards. Keep on inspiring us. Thank you @PoliteOcean for sharing about your week with us and asking the same.

My week has been good health wise :)

Besides listened to songs, caught up with old friends, spent a lot of time on 7cups and took new roles, Meditated a few times and rested well too.

And yes, I agree, it's hard to accept that it's already August. Still, we got to move along :)

Hey there... Thats good that you are doing well Health wise.. Very important.

Sounds like your week went really well for you. Its always a good time listening to the songs we love and enjoy and catching up with old friends of ours. Meditation is surely a good way to get centered and help yourself to relax and rest. A good selfcare technique for sure.

Welcome to all your new roles here at 7cups! And thanks for checking in and letting us know how your week went.

@PoliteOcean. This past Monday I had a psychological therapy appointment to help me heal from my toxic family. Tuesday I had someone come over for an interview to see if I want to hire them to be my caretaker, but they are not the right person. Wednesday my social worker brought over 4 pre-packaged meals I can use for lunches. Also this past week, I got a call from a private social services agency ( I didn't know that was a thing), and I am going to assigned a case manager, and they will try to find a driver for me. This past week I studied the impact of Norwegians on Irish culture, and the origins of Icelandic poetry. For this upcoming week I have a telephone appointment with my primary care physician to review the results of my blood tests. I'm trying to get on the right medication routine but it's a long and difficult struggle. My doctor told me I'm not getting any painkillers.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo!

Its great that you are still continuing and keeping up with your psych appointments. Very important to talk about and deal with the things that hold us down or hold us back from moving forwards sometimes. Its good that you are still looking for the right person to be your caretaker. Its also even better that you are looking for a quality person and know what you want and what to look for that will make you happy. Hopefully you will find someone that fits your needs very soon! How nice that your social worker thought of you and brought some meals by for you. Hopefully they are to your liking since your house manager is not meeting your needs in what they are making. How awesome that you might possibly have a new driver soon. Its important to be able to get out and do the things you need and get the things you need, and not feel like you are stuck in the same place all the time. I hope that the telephone appointment helps to yeild the results you are wanting with your blood results and your medications! How nice that you are still studying the things that interests you with different cultures and poetry. If I had more time, I would try to get back to more poetry myself. I used to write it so much, almost daily..., and now its been years. Thanks so much for checking in for the week and letting us know how things are continuing to go for you.

~How have you been doing this week?! - I've been doing okay. Slowly getting better.

**How has the First week of AUGUST gone for you? What did you spend this past week doing? - I've spent most of my time away. Now that things are open my friends want to go out more.

**What is something that you did for Self care this past week, Name ONE Thing (or more) that you've done to take care of and focus on "YOU"~ .....Name ONE thing that you could do "Today" to take time out for yourself? - I've been trying to keep the house clean and drink water. I've been lacking in both those areas. Today I would like to go outside when it's cool out and just recharge.

**Just for FUN: .....If you could choose "ONE" Summer Activity, What would yours be?.... If you could Choose "ONE" "Summer Destination" Where would you be or go?! - Swimming for sure. I've always been a water duck lol. I would go to Greese. It's so beautiful there and it soulds lovely.

Hey there.. Its good to hear that you are doing well and slowly starting to get better... Its good that you are able to get out more and spend time with your friends.

I think its great that you are making goals to keep the house clean and get more water in. Those are both awesome goals to strive for. One day at a time. I hope that you were able to get out and about and help yourself to recharge! Thats important that we try to do it daily, even if just briefly.

I agree... Swimming for sure! I Love to swim or be anywhere near the water. And yes, Greece does sound like a really lovely place to see and visit. At least from what I've seen and heard.. I doubt I will ever see it in my lifetime, but I hope that one day maybe you are able to! ... .Thanks so much for checking in and letting us know how you've been doing!

**Hey Everyone~How have you been doing this week?!

I'm very tired and kind of sore/grumpy about the fact that I wasn't able (or rather wouldn't be able to) accomplish as much as I'd like today.

**How has the First week of AUGUST gone for you? What did you spend this past week doing?

I've been working a lot: my job, learning about college admissions, taking care of my sister and our house. I've also been stressing about college admissions (I'm so scared that I am thinking of not applying). And we attended virtual church twice this past week. I had ice-cream a couple of times. I haven't been sleeping well too. But I like how you put it. This is the first week of August I've had in a long time and it's the only one I am going to get for 2020. So, I am glad that I've stopped to post to this thread (the way you worded it is actually what prompted me to post). I am also really grateful for being alive to see through (almost there!) the first week of August and the last first week of August I'll get for a while. Or maybe it's even my last one ever. I don't know. But I am just thankful for the opportunity to reflect over it.

**What is something that you did for Self care this past week, Name ONE Thing (or more) that you've done to take care of and focus on "YOU"~ .....Name ONE thing that you could do "Today" to take time out for yourself?

I haven't done anything worthy of being placed under self-care.

**Just for FUN: .....If you could choose "ONE" Summer Activity, What would yours be?.... If you could Choose "ONE" "Summer Destination" Where would you be or go?!

Wakebording because why not and I'd like to visit Indonesia.

**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week?

Highlights: I almost worked a full shift at work today and the college application program I attended for the wek was nice.

Struggles: Making a college list and exhaustion.

**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us This Week?! WE want to hear from "YOU"~

I'm not sure. I really want to make Asian fried rice, finish statistics and biology before school starts, call my local community college, finish the many spreadsheets I am working on, use Notion daily, stop being a prick by procrastinating and not getting back to people. I also want to practice my French more, read four books by week-end and start a new TV show but I don't have enough time to do the latter.

Hey there!..

So glad that whatever I said was able to get you to post this week and let us know how you've been doing!...

So sorry to hear that you've been so stressed out over various life things, But Its great that you were able to stop, take a breather and reflect over the month and over things.

Wakeboarding sounds pretty interesting.Thats something I've never done for sure. And Indonesia, wow..I'm sure that is one place that I will mostly likely never see in my lifetime in person..... What is it that intrigues you most about going there?

Wow.. seems like you also have ALOT that you'd like to do and accomplish for yourself!...It can all totally be done. I think "time" is what plays a factor for MANY of us in not getting things done that we either need to or would like to... So the question that we probably should ask ourselves (which I have many times and still don't listen) is "What can we do to prioritize our time better" so that we can be more productive in each day. And get the things done that we wish to?... I know what it is that I need to do, and still haven't done it... But... Perhaps taking baby steps day by day, and making a plan of all the things you want to do, and getting each of them done a little at a time, day by day, step by step can help?!

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you are doing and how things have been going for you!

@sunnyComputer6391

Its never too late to start "being better" ... and doing better. Not everything will work the same for everyone. However, sometimes for "me" personally, i just have to make up my own mind to just simply "Do It'!... Like nobody else can help me or tell me to do something or when to do it. I have to WANT to do it! You know what I mean?

You have to "want" to make changes for yourself. Almost like living a healthy lifestyle, people or doctors can tell you (well you have to lose weight, or you have high blood pressure, or you have to do this or that to be healthier)... Well with some or most people, that doesn't even phase them. They might "hear" it and whats being said in the moment. But then, it goes back to the same habits. Or... they might try for a bit, and then fall off track again.

It truly is a MENTAL thing. That only we ourselves have to want to work towards. And decide to just start, and just do it. And one of the most important thing is knowing our "WHY". Why do you want to do better? Why do you need to do better? What is your "Why" for wanting to do better, be better, and be more productive in your goals?!...And keep that as a reminder and work towards that!

**Hey Everyone~How have you been doing this week?!

So things were going well, and then my sister told me that she needed 'concrete steps to moving out' again. I have no clue what she means so I asked her this time. She told me that I was the one who needed to be thinking about that and so no, she couldn't give me any examples. I just started work 2 months ago, my medical is changing and so I don't know how much money I'm going to have to move out.

**How has the First week of AUGUST gone for you? What did you spend this past week doing?

So I spent the last week working and I had a great weekend planned and then hit this on Saturday around lunch, so I've been struggling with depression and sleeping a lot.

**What is something that you did for Self care this past week, Name ONE Thing (or more) that you've done to take care of and focus on "YOU"~ .....Name ONE thing that you could do "Today" to take time out for yourself?

I showered using my peppermint shower gel, dressed and exercised today. I also looked online for a place to go and contacted my parents to see if I could move in with them. I contacted the person who runs the non-profit that I take devotions at and my casemanager. I don't have a time set that I have to leave by so its hard to plan. Right now it really feels like its basically whim whether I have more or less time here.

**Just for FUN: .....If you could choose "ONE" Summer Activity, What would yours be?.... If you could Choose "ONE" "Summer Destination" Where would you be or go?!

I would go to the beach and walk along the shore.

Hey there ..

its good that you are working again and things are going well there... Sorry to hear that you are still having some issues with your sister. And that you are still struggling with depression and sleeping alot. Hopefully those things will start to turn around and improve for you!

How awesome that you took some time to focus on yourself and incorporate your peppermint gel, and get some exercise in!.. Thats so great for you.. good job! How did the conversation go with your parents and wanting to move in with them? Do they seem up for that? I hope that it all comes together and works out for you. And that they can agree to let you come there if needed.

I agree. .... I think the Beach and walking along the Shore would be the greatest summer activity. I would love to do that everyday if I could!... Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! Continue to keep us informed on how things are going for you.

@PoliteOcean

So my parents said no the first two days that I phoned and then that they were discussing things the third. My home situation wasn't very good either when I lived there, but part of it was that I was so sick at the time. I'm on meds and working and a lot better now, so I'm hoping they reconsider.

Things are going okay at work, but I think I'd like to work on skills to help me get a different sort of job. Maybe an office job. Where I work is really strict and always hiring new people because they let so many go and so many leave. They run lean and mean to the extreme. Also, I found out that I can't transfer to another store for another 4 months, because I've only worked there 2 months and you have to work there 6 before they will okay it.

My sister was getting frustrated and offended that I was buying and eating my own food is the latest, because she is laser focused on me moving out and thought it was an unneccessary expense since they are willing to feed me. But I explained that it was portion control and that I eat way too much otherwise and she sort of understands that. I'm not sure that she agrees but at least she isn't going to be more offended.

**Hey Everyone~How have you been doing this week?!

I'm alright, started exercising a bit and drinking more water Thursday and have been doing it daily except today so it hasnt been long. For some reason I already feel restless from no exercise and slightly less water. I can feel depression coming on from lowering sugar intake. Hoping it won't last long but it's so weird how brains and bodies seem to want opposites sometimes. Very tired though so gonna take advantage of that

**Just for FUN: .....If you could choose "ONE" Summer Activity, What would yours be?.... If you could Choose "ONE" "Summer Destination" Where would you be or go?!

One summer activity would be learning how to do something meaningful, like meditation or keeping focus while reading. Summer destination I'm not sure. Many places sound good to me

Hey there Lex! Wow.. great check-in for you this week!

Great job on exercising more and getting more water in!.. The water might be even slightly more important just because water can refresh us, help to give us more energy, keep us hydrated and HELP us to do so much more when we get enough in each day! (Which includes those exercises) yes Keep up the great work you are doing.

I think you are the 2nd on in these check-ins to mention the "Sugar" thing... Yeah that pesky sugar intake..... If only it didn't have the ramifications that it did. Since its pretty much in most things. And yes, sometimes our brains and bodies just dont want to correlate with one another~ frown

I totally agree... many places do sound good for a summer destination.. I'd pretty much travel anywhere right now if given the chance just to get out of here and see something new. I love your idea of summer activities of learning and doing something new and more meaningful!... Interesting thought!... Perhaps you could think more on that, and give it a try when you have time and are ready to do so!.

Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you and how you are doing!

Hello everyone.

These first weeks of August have been hectic with my make-up clinicals occurring so that I can progress in my nursing program. I've met some wonderful and inspiring people during my first 2 weeks back on campus, and I am excited to see where my friendships with these individuals take me. I am a strong believer that you need to surround yourself with energy equivalent to your own - something which I have been, admittedly, lacking in throughout my past relationships.

My first apartment has been decorated beautifully and I feel right at home - it might need some plants, but aside from that the soft colors and abundance of natural light motivates me during the day. I've began completing my coursework early - so far, I am ahead in one class up to September 16th. I hope to complete the entirety of the posted coursework prior to the start of the semester so I can focus all of my energy on my nursing classes and learning as much as I can.

I took a long hiatus from 7cups as I settled in to nursing, only logging in once a month or so. I can solidly say that I am back because the quality of my life while I am on here is significantly increased. I love helping people. Some goals for this month are to refresh my training (after all, I completed the majority of it all the way back in high school) and to make a difference in at least one person's life.

Love you all,

Veronica
