🌞 This past week was Okay-ish.... The weather went back and forth which didn't totally benefit my mood. Felt a little sluggish, as well as on edge, among other things etc.. Didn't stay on top of hydration as I have been. And had some headaches over the week which I don't typically get.

🌴 The weather was slightly milder at the start of the week, and we had some afternoon and evening rains, which made Pool water too cool for me. By mid-week there was an improvement in the weather, and it started to heat up again (as well as the water).... And My mood improved much better by the end of the week with the return of Sunshine, warmer weather, & walks with my Furbaby..... I've taken off too much time from Teaching ZUMBA & Fitness classes but realize its whats best for the moment. But, still intending on getting back to the Gym soon to take others classes, or Help Co-lead with others. I realized today just how much I really miss my ZUMBA.

🍍 While I live in a Milder climate, and we don't really get any snow, we can get some "chilly", rainy and dreary winters here between Dec-Feb... And while I've always Loved the Fall (it being my 2nd favorite Season), I realize Just how much I truly Love Summer the most and the climate it brings (more Sunshine, Longer daylight, Swimming options etc..). As well as Improved Mental Health. I really want that ALL the time, everyday. I've really been thinking lately how nice it would be to move to that type of climate. But also really don't want to move away from my family either, Or uproot everything. I just know I'd really prefer not to deal with winters again no matter how mild they are. I need Sunshine everyday!

🌊 No major plans this weekend. Intentions are to get out and about, and enjoy the beautiful Sunshiny day and wherever it takes us~ But looking forwards to Hitting the Beach Next week for a few days.

@PoliteOcean

I definitely get how an all-over-the-place weather can impact our mood and routine! I can relate to the sluggishness for sure. I'm glad the weather got a bit better by the middle of the week :)

Taking this time to spend more time outdoors and teaching Zumba sounds so cool and like a great way to relax! And I so get that, the sun and all of the summer weather it brings can do wonders for our wellbeing! I've always lived in the tropical areas and am about to move to a cooler place, definitely worried about that! I totally understand not wanting to move away from family though!

And nice! Those sound like great weekend plans! Hope you have a great time at the beach! 🏖 Thanks for this lovely check-in Ocean! 💓

🍍What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

I'm struggling with my first granddaughter getting married today and I'm not there. I raised her for over 6 years of her life. Then I had to let her and her younger brother go. I let them go to relatives. I'm dealing with the regret of doing that. I was having a struggle with my own mental health, and keeping up with two mischievous youngsters alone. I just couldn't do it anymore. As much as I wanted to, I felt I had to let them go to a younger family. Now, both of them basically hate me. I tried to keep in touch with them when they were young. But their new 'mom' turned cruel toward me and did everything she could to cut me out of their lives. Even moving away to a big, busy city that I would find very hard to drive in. Her strategy worked. So, today, I'm down. I'll get over it. But this hurts. Facing my feelings. Not just burying them. Thanks for listening if you take the time to read and respond.

@EmbStitcher33

Hey there Stitch, so sorry to hear that you are struggling with this. I can imagine how difficult this must all be for you. Sounds like you had your own issues in the past with Mental Health. And as you know when we deal with that, we have to do whatever we can to get to a better place for ourselves, or we can't be good for anyone else. Sounds like that was the best decision at the time for you. I don't know the whole situation obviously, and not sure what are the surrounding circumstances, but I'm assuming that you had no other actual "blood related family" who could help you with them at the time? Not sure if you know where your granddaughter/son are located at this time and I know that you say and feel that they have negative feelings towards you, but, if you know a way to reach them, or perhaps you could write a letter to them both explaining the situation you were in at the time and why you thought it was best to try to give them a better life? Maybe as adults they will listen and understand?

I do hope as well that you have been able to talk to someone about this over the years on a professional level to help you work through your feelings of (guilt) regarding them. But again, you have to realize you made a choice to what you felt was better for all of you at the time. And in the end, thats really all we can do in any situation.

We are here to support you in any way that we can. Thank you for checking in this week and just simply sharing with us. Please continue to keep us updated on how you are doing.

⭐️FEEL FREE TO ANSWER ANY OR ALL QUESTIONS! Or Simply tell us about yourself and how you've been doing! Feel free to share or Vent about your week~

🌞How was your week? Very intense. . . I have endomental hyperplasia, it's went from simple to complex within three months. I have been talking to OBYGNs since Nov-Dec about hysterectomy . . . I'll be 40 in Dec , no kids and my boyfriend is 1200 miles away. They are worried I will have cancer. However I keep getting pushed off from doctor to doctor and different hospital systems. Monday I was sent to the wrong department. . . I was supposed to go to a cancer specialist and I just sent back to another OBGYN who made wait listening to crying babies, and then tell me I was basically to big (at risk) for the hysterectomy. . . and suggested I have another surgery just to lost weight while instead of looking at my records which they lost in the first place, they tried to push hormones on me, if they had looked at my records would have seen that the man-made hormones made me sick and very mean. I hate who I am when I am on them. (Sorry venting. . .)

🌴 I can't believe its another week down, and we are officially already "Half-way" through July?!...
How has this month been moving along for you so far? I haven't really moved along. . . i'm fighting exhaustion and worrying and depression just makes it worst.
What are some things you've accomplished or what personal goals have you met for yourself to this point? I haven't given myself goals, because I am too tired to accomplish them. My doctor has me on new meds and they make me tired and sick to my stoamch. They are more worried about my weight, not my energy.

🏊 What is something that you felt Thankful or Grateful for....OR that Made you feel good this week? I am grateful for my boyfriend in my life. He is my reason to move forward.

🌊 JUST FOR FUN: What are your weekend plans ahead?... I want to write if I get the energy.
If you could be or go anywhere you wanted, where would you go and what would you be doing?! I just need to get out but I do not have any local friends.

🍍What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?! I'm scared I might have cancer and I feel like the doctors are taking their time to get paperwork in order and help figure this thing out. I have issues that I am not supposed to technically deal with not for another twenty years.

🌴What would "YOU" Like to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU! Please send positive vibes and prayers. *Hugs*

@Rebekahwriter13

Well hello there Rebekah, its very nice to hear from you. Its been a while.

So sorry to hear for you that you are still dealing with all this after so long. And that the medical professionals who should be helping you aren't doing so. I can only imagine how challenging this is continuing to be for you. And how it must be affecting your overall wellbeing and mental health. We certainly hope that you are able to finally find some type of resolution for yourself as I know its been a battle for you. But in the mean time, continue to make sure you are doing the best you can to take care of yourself as much as you can.

Hopefully you will be able to finally adjust to the meds they have you on, or they find one that will adjust to you instead so you won't feel so horrible on them. Not sure if you've been able to research on your own more options?

Even though you are going through these issues now at a younger age, its actually more common than you might think. Unfortunately even though we want them to be able to come up with the answers and solutions, sometimes we have to put in our "Own" work as well to get where we need to be. Whether its losing weight, researching better physicians, researching better medication options etc...etc.... You certainly have to do your best to be your own advocate, or find someone that can help you do that if you feel you aren't being heard in order to try to get the best care. Because believe it or not, some medical providers do try to dismiss what patients are going through or don't take them serious enough.

We certainly hope for you that you start to get some relief in all of this... I know its been a long road for you. Many positive thoughts and vibes your way! Hugs back. And thank you for checking in with us this week. It was surely so nice to hear from you. Please continue to keep us updated on everything and how you are continuing to do.

@PoliteOcean

Here’s how the past week went. Tuesday was my intake appointment with Bright Heart Health. They said it was too early to assign me a therapist. They sent me a bunch of paperwork, and after filling it out, I decided on Friday that it wasn’t the right treatment program for me. It’s designed mostly for recovering drug addicts and that’s not my problem. I would be unable to comply with their requirements. They also want to assign me a second psychiatrist in addition to the one I already have. I thought that was odd. I didn’t know what kind of therapy they were going to provide. I’ve been logging in to the Christian chat room multiple times per day to ask for prayer. The problem is half the time the person doesn’t pray for what I asked. I’ve been trying to find web sites that do free prophetic consultation. I found a business that does psycho-dynamic therapy online but they charge $150 per hour. One of my chat room friends suggested existential therapy might be good for me. Leslie gave me a desk lamp to put on my dresser. I finally decided to fork over $22 of my own money and buy a surge protector and extension cord for my bedroom so I could have adequate lighting. The problem is when I read I don’t have any back support. I purchased a new devotional book entitled “Receiving Healing from the Courts of Heaven”. I didn’t do any art history this past week. I read my book once. When Stuart turns his TV up I am unable to read. I don’t ask him to turn it down because I don’t want to create an ongoing problem. I took a shower on Wednesday. For this upcoming week, Monday I have an appointment with my psychiatrist. Tuesday is Tunde’s first day of work and I have a chiropractor appointment. I’m going to make him take me to the beach afterwards.

Hey Regmo.. thats good you were able to get things sorted and figured out with the Bright Heart. And that you were able to realize it wasn't the right situation for you. At least you know that now. Its good that you are engaging in and keeping up with your Christian chat room often. Sometimes when we ask others to pray for us, they may do it according to their own style. And it may not be or sound specific to our issues. And that might cause us to feel worse mentally because we again feel we aren't being heard, or that our prayers aren't being heard. And also, if the same people see that you are requesting the same prayer "multiple times", then their prayers may also become or feel less effective to you... There are many other options other than christian and prayer chatrooms. There are also Prayer lines... where you can call and ask for a specific need, and they will pray specific to your request. You can call multiple times a day on those as well and actually speak to someone directly who would be glad to not only pray for you but with you. There are also several Prophetic consultations that I've noticed on Facebook. You just have to know where to look. Its good that Leslie was able to step up and help out with the lighting in your room. And that you were able to be proactive by getting the surge protector. Maybe next you could get something that will help support your back as well. Theres all kinds of things out there for that. Healing books are very helpful and insightful. Its also good that you are incorporating selfcare and hygiene. Thats very important. You will have to keep us up to date on how things are going with your new caretaker. I am thinking on the beach this week myself. Its very therapeutic. Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are continuing to go.

Hello Polite ! . Another weekend and time for another checkin . Time to reflect on how this week went by . Here are my answers as under ::

1. My week was absolute rubbish . Physical and mental health issues plagued me this whole week. I feel that the progress I had made in regards to my mental health over the past month or so has slowed down . I am supposed to meet my psychiatrist tomorrow and I hope it helps me. Lets see. All in all , it was a forgetful week for me . :(

2. Honestly , there aren't that many goals I have met this month . Its been an unproductive month for me.

3. Hmm i need to think deeply about it . Gratitude is a trait I have lacked all my life . But I think finance wise this month has been good for me. In the sense I have earned much more this month than I had anticipated . So , I am grateful for it. :)

4. I would love to go to either London or maybe Singapore some day . I would just travel there , and visit all the go to places.

5. My struggles this week were my physical and mental health issues . They were pretty intimidating to say the least.

That's it from my side. Thanks for reading thus far. Hope you have a lovely week ahead , Polite . And I absolutely LOVE these check in posts of yours !!! . BYE. :)

@calmsoulmeet

Hey there Calm :) Yes another week gone by so fast!

So sorry to hear that your week was not the best. I can totally understand how those mental health (and physical) issues can get in the way of enjoying things that way we'd like. Its certainly not easy. And sometimes we will have those 'waves' of ups and downs. Thats great that you are meeting with you psych doctor and yes hopefully you will get some resolve from that visit.

Fret not, thats ok that you have not set any goals for the month.... It ok to just sometimes relax, and go with the flow of things. I know sometimes when I set just small, simple goals for the day, that even that can be helpful. Whether its to journal more, or mediate more etc... whatever it be that makes me feel good. It doesn't even have to be about being productive as much as it can help with just having a "purpose" for the day!

How awesome that you are able to be thankful and find gratitude in your finances! Earning more is always a nice thing for sure. It helps to feel secure in that you have a handle on things and that your needs are being met and taken care of. Great job! Keep up the great work with that!

Me too! I would LOVE to visit London one day...It was somewhere I always wanted to visit since I was a young girl. I tend to gravitate towards something more tropical the older I've gotten, but London has still always been in the back of my mind. Maybe one day that will become a reality for you!

I'm SOOOOOOO Very glad that you enjoy these check-ins!. I truly am. I greatly appreciate that and it means alot to me!..... I love reading through everyone's responses and seeing how everyone's week went. Whether up or down. We are here for each other. And we are here to continue to support you!

And I thank you so much for dropping in each week and for continuing to share with us! Please as always, continue to keep us up to date on how things are going for you and how you are continuing to do. Take care!

🌞My week was good! I got to spend some time with friends who I will probably not see in a long time since we're pretty much all moving, I bit nostalgic but super fun :)

🌴 I know right? I swear this has been one of the quickest months yet. So far I've been on top of my organisation in terms of moving and clearing out old things that I forgot existed XD But other than that I confess I haven't been as productive as I would have liked in terms of getting ready for the next academic year and things like that.

🏊 I am grateful for the ocean! I didn't manage to spend much time near it in the past couple of months but now that I have more free time I have never been more grateful for it!

🌊 My plans for the weekend are to spend more time with my sister and probably get on with some pre-reading that I've been procrastinating to do haha! If I could go anywhere... I would probably go to Berlin just because a recent book I read was set in Berlin and I think it would be cool to check out all the places it mentioned 😅

🍍My highlight this week other than spending time with my friends was probably making tacos for my family! It took wayy longer than I thought it would but it was definitely worth it!

🌴Hmm maybe I'll give a book recommendation! One of my latest reads was "Beach Read" by Emily Henry and it surpassed my expectations! It's a really nice read for summer but it's not too cliche! Definitely recommend!

Thanks for this check-in, Ocean! 💗💗

Hey there Stars!!... So sorry for the late reply, I just got back from a small vacation today. Its so great to see you check in with us this week! What a great surprise!

Thats great for you that you had a good week and got to hang out with friends despite that you are all moving. Nostalgia can be so much fun for sure.

Thats awesome for you that you are keeping up and top of your organization with the things in your life. Clearing out old things can be a good thing and get us ready for new things, including new starts! I know getting ready for the next school year isn't always something that we look forward to. I remember those days. I think my favorite part was just being able to see old friends again.... but other than that I was never really ready either lol. I'm sure everything will go quite great for you!

How awesome that you have more free time on your hands and that you can see the Ocean more! Yayy for the Ocean!.. Its honestly one of my most favorite places to be! Its so calming and relaxing. Its great you have some time now to enjoy it!

How lovely that you plan to make some time to spend with your sister! That is very sweet. And also get some pre-reading in. What things do you and your sister like to do together?!.... How cool that you'd like to visit Berlin. Seems like an interesting place to check out for sure.

How cool that you made Tacos for your family! Yum!.. lol. That was very nice of you, and I'm sure they were great and that your family really enjoyed and were appreciative of your efforts!

Wow..thanks so much for the book recommendation! I might have to check that out since it has the word Beach in the title! It does in fact sound like it would be a great summer read!... Thank you for sharing that with us! And thank you so very much for checking in here this week and letting us know how you are doing and how things are going for you. It was so great to hear from you! Take care!

I am not okay.

Hello everyone. I am a little over year post-diagnosis. Long story short, family drama or work stress caused me to experience psychosis for the first and a subsequent two week hospitalization. Life post-diagnosis has been a rocky rollercoaster with mostly lows. I am tired, exasperated to say the least. I do not have much of a support system, my family is a strange group of people for lack of better terms.

Navigating this illness along with my normal day to day life has proven my greatest struggle. I am a young, newly admitted attorney who can barely maintain hourly obligations. Almost every facet of my life is affected by this illness. My personal, social, and love lives are all in shambles. I am exhausted mentally and physically.

I really do not know what to do. I am hoping that things get better but my hope is wearing thin. Any of advice on how live a somewhat normal life? It takes a tremendous effort for me to do almost everything. Any and all advice is much appreciated. Thank you all!

@billsfan716

Hi there ....

Sorry to hear that you are not okay. And that you don't have the best support system. We know here at 7cups how challenging mental health issues can be. Just know that you have many people here that can support you in any way that we can.

I also hope that you are finding some solace in seeking professional care as well with a mental health provider who can help you to navigate these feelings and the situations in your life as well. Such as a counselor or therapist. Seeking professional help and support can help you find and build the coping skills and mechanisms that can help you to keep progressing forwards. And also having back up help and someone to talk to in between like here at 7cups. Where we have many support groups and listeners that can talk to you one on one.

Again we certainly know that its not easy, but it can get better for sure! And again we are here for you. Please consider reaching out for professional support in your local area. They offer many in office visits as well as Telemedicine over the phone or computer now days as well. To help accommodate you. We wish you the best and please continue to check back and let us know how you are doing and how things are going for you! And thank you so much for checking in with us this week.
