**This past week has been really exceptional... in the fact that I didn't really have to do a whole lot.... it was challenging to stay on track at the beginning of the week due to the Holiday and the fact that I just wanted to relax and enjoy it. So we did splurge a little with an Icecream cone and some picnic foods..... My water intake has been Amazing due to the Very Hot weather we've been having and I've been continuously chugging it down!!... Sleep has been completely off, so my goal for this coming week is to truly give more focus back to that!
** Started off the week on Sunday enjoying my FIRST day in the Pool for the season~
.... The water felt SOOO nice and warm since our Weather has been VERY HOT here the past two weeks!.......We spent most of the afternoon just relaxing in the pool, and getting my Water exercises in that day. It was too hot to do much else. My mom is out of town for Two weeks so no morning walks, and because of the Holiday, I only had ONE class to teach at the end of the week....Monday I took the day off of most things to just relax, and Got back on track Tuesday with Swimming in the morning and BootCamp later that day~ I Spent a total of "Four" days in the pool this past week.... I got my new FITBIT VERSA all set and ready to go last weekend so that I could use it in the pool... Its been so nice NOT having to worry about taking it off and missing any Steps or hard-earned Calorie Burn!... I'm still getting used to it and its features, but I truly LOVE that I dont' have to take it off for much and can now track my Swim workouts!...And its really great how you can see everything right on the screen and what you are doing~
**Today my intention is to get a morning Zumba class in, and enjoy another Hot day here in the South East, USA.
~ Perhaps a drive, and some light shopping afterwards and hoping to get back in the Pool on Sunday~...... I'm really just trying to continue to focus working on my goals (Physically, mentally, and emotionally) as we are Now heading into those summer months. I don't want to "feel" uncomfortable in my own skin~ (As well, we have some Family events/Reunions, and get-aways coming up and I want to feel comfortable and positive about myself).... I'm just happy this time of year is finally here as it keeps my "Mind" right and on track and feeling good in so many ways~
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE~![]()
@PoliteOcean
Woohoo! You're always so busy, it must have felt good to not have to do much! Unless you like keeping busy and having things constantly on the go? :o a splurge every now and again won't do much harm- we have to enjoy ourselves too! Very good idea to catch up on sleep! It's so important.
Yay for the pool! Your love is back! :p Do you prefer to go on walks only with other people? Also, what holiday did you have? And what did you have to do at BootCamp? Sounds very tough :o Enjoy your day today, and can't wait to hear how this week goes! Hope it goes well <3 xx
@rebecca947
Hey there! So nice to see you this week :)
Yes, I do tend to stay busy I guess... NOT intentionally of course! lolol... But, it sure does seem like I always have something I need to do, or get done or take care of?!...
Yes I agree... we must splurge every now and then..... we have to be able to "treat" ourselves with the things that we enjoy most!..... And yes, I am absolutely enjoying the Pool and this season!
I do NOT like to go on walks alone when it comes to a "true/real" workout..... For instance, If I am doing the several miles through my neighborhood (including Hills etc..).. I like a "walking partner" (either my Mom or Husband or BOTH!)... Its not very motivating walking alone!....
But.... If I go take a short walk at the Lakeside, Its usually just me and My Dog...(my furry side-kick)! lol....I like to take him there to get his exercise in the big open field and then relax afterwards by the lake~
We had "Memorial Day" here, which Honor all Fallen Veterans here in the USA~.... Usually this day consists of family gatherings, picnics, Memorial Parades in various places, etc...etc... basically a celebration and what they also like to call the "Un-official" start of Summer (since by this time most Schools are done for the summer, and all the Pools start to open back up for the season!...
Also, Yes, the facility that I teach at has an instructor that teaches Bootcamp!.... So, I had to take action and join in as well... I LOVE Bootcamp (which consists of Planks, Push-ups, Various forms of Cardio intervals and weights etc...) So basically its different cardios and circuits as well... it changes with each class. But VERY Challenging! And works the ENTIRE body in very little time (30-45 minutes) with LOTS of calorie burn from the intense cardio intervals~
So great to see this week, Now I get to go read YOUR check-in! lol.....

@PoliteOcean
I am looking forward to all the sunny days and nice weather this month.
In May, I finally tackled the boxes that the ex sent my way with my father and pared down my books. And I rode the bus for the first time up to Gamestop and bought two t-shirts.
In June I plan to add in more exercise to my days, learn Spanish and Crochet and watch Naruto up to the filler episodes and then stop.
My physical goal is to add Walk Away the Pounds to any day I do not walk outside, and to add a cardio routine to any day I do walk outside. I haven't decided which one yet, I have so many to choose from.
My mental goal is to learn Spanish.
My goal for emotional health is to keep busy enough that when I have to be alone I'm not sad that I'm not around people.
I was okay for half the memorial day weekend, but I slept extra long Sunday and Monday. I also watched a season of Naruto but I don't remember what else I did.
My highlight was getting a review up for a book that I pre-purchased and was part of the Advance Reading team. It was a major struggle. I put off reading it for a year.
My weekend plans are to walk to the libray and back and read books, study Spanish, and maybe touch typing tutor.
@berryfields2409
Hey there! SO Awesome to see you this week!
So glad that you are looking forward to and enjoying the weather this month!... Me too! Its really great.
Great job to you on being able to finally tackle those "boxes"...good for you. How did you feel about that?.......
Riding the bus up to Gamestop and getting 2 shirts sounds exciting,.... seems like you really enjoyed that!... It also sounds like you have LOTS of plans for yourself for the month of June!... Good for you! Its really great that you will be taking action to focus on yourself and your health goals by adding in more exercise!... As well as doing something benefical such as learning another language and Crochet!...... I've heard of "WALK AWAY THE POUNDS"!... I had thought about buying that one too.. .I have SOOOO many Dvds that I really need to see if I don't 'already' have it!... lolol........ Who does it? Is it the "Leslie Sansone" Walk Dvd??.... If so, I might already have that and may need to start doing that one again myself!,..... Please continue to keep us informed on how that goes for you and how you are enjoying the Dvd!...
I would LOVE to learn Spanish myself!... I actually come from a Spanish blood-line, my grandmother is part Spanish, however, none of us were ever taught to really learn or speak the language..... just a few words here and there, but not enough to carry a conversation sadly~ Good luck! Let us know how that goes for you!.
And great for you on Keeping Busy! That is a really good idea.. I have done that myself and its really beneficial in keeping your "Mind" right and on track!...
Nothing wrong with sleeping more on the Holiday weekend, in fact, I did a little of that myself!... Sounds like you needed it! Good luck to you on your "Weekend" plans, I hope you get all that you want to do accomplished!... Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! Please check back and keep us up to date.
@PoliteOcean
Heya, Ocean! I love these questions, so decided to try to loosely fit those into my paragraphs :)
The start of the week went alright, but Thursday came and I got sick :( very sad times. It's been freezing cold lately, so cold and strong the winds were that at work, we had 3 mini blackouts within 2 minutes! It wasn't raining, just super windy. I volunteered on Thursday too after work! It's for a foundation where we write birthday cards to children 13-25 in foster homes all around Australia. It was much harder than I thought it would be, to have to try decorate the cards nicely to suit the ages. I got 13 year olds- I'm not the best at creativity to begin with- but to think of putting glitter and drawing cute things?! Phew, it was tough but so fun! I'd love to do it again one day. Mentally, the end of the week wasn't great. Felt drained and uncomfortable from being sick, which influenced how I felt emotionally. Did some things I regret, but I'm hoping I've learnt my lessons from. Only time will tell, I suppose. Actions speak louder.
June is ridiculously busy for me! I've got 3 familial birthdays and consequently 3 parties to celebrate, and housewarming party for our new house, and a BBQ at a cousin's house, AND two aunts are coming from overseas to celebrate my grandma's birthday! Going to be hectic- nearly every Sunday we've got something going on! It's also the last month of my uni semester, and suffice to say, I'm not prepared in the slightest. Mental health has been going down the drain the entire semester, so I don't know if I'll even pass. I've tried contacting my psychologist but she's not called back yet. She's renowned for being hard to catch xD
Hmm, goals for May. I don't even remember what mine were! :p I managed to drink 4+ cups of water most days in May, so that's a good goal reached! I haven't drunk so much water in ages aha also took my meds nearly daily, so that was great too! Also got my prescription medication refilled by my doctor today! Very thankful for that, as I was scared she'd want to wean me off them. I'm not ready. As for goals for June, I guess it's just to study as best I can, and put the rest of my time into 7 Cups and my roles here. I've been slowly picking up my roles back, and I can say definitely it feels SO good to be back!
One healthy goal for Physical health: go to the gym 3x a week at least! Mental health: If my psychologist still hasn't gotten back to me, I guess use the resources I have and try my best to hang on until she replies. Emotional health: lots of self-care! I wrote in my bullet journal one of my goals was to do self-care once a week. I was tempted to write a self-care day, but that'd be a bit hard, so I'm happy with any self-care activity :) I've bought two bath bombs, so that's two baths for two weeks there! Just have to figure out the rest.
Have a great week, everyone! xx
@rebecca947
Hey there!......
So great that you enjoy the questions this week and that you feel good about participating and letting us know how things have been going for you!...Long time no see!... I've been thinking of you and wondering how you've been doing and if you were still working with your "trainer"?!!
I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well....ugh.. thats always a challenge to not feel your best for sure.. I hope that you are feeling better now?!.. I'm sure that your weather is not helping matters either~ That doesn't sound like you were having the greatest of weather there... Its so crazy to think that we are now entering summer months and you are the opposite... It seems like yesterday, how we were just talking about YOU entering the summer months as we were heading into late Fall early winter lol.... Crazy how fast time goes by isn't it?!
Writing cards to Foster children!... HOW AMAZING AND AWESOME IS THAT!!..... As challenging as it might've seemed for you to do at the time, I can only be sure that those kids that received them were nothing but excited and grateful to be thought of and to have received them at all.... I'm sure that it truly made their day!
Wow...June does seem like it will be a very busy time for you!... Lots of things and events going on for you.. Sounds exciting yet hectic all at the same time~
........ I'm sorry to hear that things are not going the way you wish for as far as your schooling.... and that its been affecting your Mental health... I do hope that you are able to reach your psychologist soon!.... Its sounds like some "Self Care" time and "Venting" is truly needed
..... I truly hope that things start to look up for you and that it won't be as bad as it seems~~
So good that you were able to get some good water intake in for May.. thats a positive thing as well as getting your prescription filled! Yay!.. Thats really important!... Its great that you are looking forward to being back here to 7cups on a more regular basis! You have really been missed each week! And its even better that you are "Feeling Good" too about being back! That truly makes a difference~
I LOVE, LOVE LOVE all the Awesome goals you are setting for yourself!... gym-time, using your resources for your Mental Health, and Lots more Self-care time!... (And Bath bombs!>.. Yassss.......) Gotta love more bath time!
Just continue to take it day by day.. thats all any of us can truly do!...
Thank you so much for checking in this week, its so great to have you back!!... And please continue to keep us updated on things and how you are doing!!
The week's been good, I bought a chest binder and my mum started calling me Rain :)
I'm looking forward to Pride month, and helping to educate people about the LGBT+.
I'd like to write a story every day of June.
Physical: I'll try to do some exercise each day. Mental: I'll try to go on this site every day. Emotional: I'll try not to block them out?
I don't really have any plans.
@ItsReganingRain
Hey there! So great to have you here and checking in with us this week!
Glad to hear that its been a good week for you, and good for you on the chest binder~
Awesome for you that you are looking forward to Pride month, and that you are wanting to help educate more!![]()
Great for you on setting goals for yourself to write a story every day!.. Sounds like that will keep you pretty busy throughout the month!
Great job to you on making goals for your Physical, mental and emotional Health as well!.. Keep up the great work that you are doing! And thanks so much for checking in this week to let us know how you've been doing!
@PoliteOcean Thanks, I'll do my best :)
Another busy week but pretty much staying on track. Time is sure going fast. Still on track with goals. Eating healthy has been improving over the last few weeks. Easy to get off track with not realizing it. A little early for swimming as temps are still in 70 -80 degree range. I think I would have a difficult time in a climate where temps are in the 90s and high humidity all the time during the summer months. Goals for the month is to stay on track with diet and exercise. Enjoying the warmer weather, just hope it does not go too fast. We had a lot of rain this spring, which has everything blooming and growing quickly. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey there Sail!...
Always lovely to see you each week!... Good for you for keeping busy and continuing to stay on track with things!
I agree, that the time truly is going fast... Its almost like as soon as Memorial day is over, the next thing you look and its the 4th of July already... and then summer just flies after that.. I truly hope it slows down some!
Good for you that you that your eating is continuing to improve for you and that your getting on track more with things. Its sure has been tougher this year for me than the last few....and you are so right, it so easy to get off track and can be more challenging to get back on....
Sounds like you have the Perfect temps up there... 70/80s is really nice... Sometimes I really miss the living in the north due to those temps and the more "dry" air.... (For me, its kind of like the 90's are only great if theres a "Pool" nearby.... Just like having Snow and freezing temps are only good for me if its Christmas season and then I want it to be over with) lol.....but 70/80s would be PERFECT for me all year round!...
Awesome goal for yourself to continue to stay on track with diet and exercise!.. (I'm right with you on that one!)...Glad to hear that you are enjoying your weather and that everything is beautifully blooming where you are!... have a great weekend and thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going!
How has your week been for you? It's been up and down. . . my landlord has given us new rules and I feel like I am living more in a prison. "Can't do this," "Can't do that," "shoo away the stray cat."
**This is The FIRST DAY of JUNE!! And our FIRST check-in for this Month!....What are you looking forward to the Most? Going out to eat, working on my book
**How many of you Reached or Achieved a Goal for yourself in the Month of May?! I did not reach my goal (i had too much stress and health issues got in the way)
What was it?!.... It was to finish my novels.
What are your goals or plans for this New Month ahead?! Finding a new place to live and finish my novel.
**Can you name "ONE" healthy goal (for Each) that you will work towards or focus on this month for your Physical, Mental, and Emotional Health?! I want to walk more and visit my doctors
**What did you do this past week for Memorial Day (long weekend)? If you celebrated, were you able to stay on track? I cooked hamburgers, I have to keep it simple
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? Lots of struggles. I found out my stepmother got rid all of my school and writing stuff without asking me to pick it up
What are your weekend Plans?! clean and organize my stuff
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"!!
I feel I am offically cut off from my father's family.
@Rebekahwriter13
Hey there Rebekah... Always so nice to see you check in with us!
So sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time with your landlord... That is the challenging thing about having one, is All the rules and regulations to deal with. I do hope that things start to look up for you with this situation.
Its nice that you are looking forward to eating out and continuing to work on your book. Its always great to have something to look forward to!
Sorry to hear that you did not reach your goals due to the added stress that you've been under..and about your step-mother and Father...... I do hope that this month will not be as challenging for you and that things go alot smoother! We are here for you to support you!
Awesome job to you on creating and setting goals for yourself Physically mentally and emotionally!... You can reach them! They sounds like nice easy, and great goals!
I hope that you are able to accomplish all your weekend goals and plans! Thanks so much for taking the time to check in this week even with all the stress you've been under. We appreciate you!
@PoliteOcean I have to make goals lists and to-do list or I feel all out of place.
It's been a rough few days. On Thursday, we hit 72 on air quality due to winds blowing in forest fire smoke. The warning risk levels actually are on a 10 point scale, above 10 they typically just call it a 10+ so a 72 is awful. I was inside but still had a throat attack.
Since then we've been fluctuating between 4-7, so much better but even on good days that's going to affect me and when I'm recovering it's a big problem.
So no working out (it was actually already cancelled due to other reasons, so I didn't have to worry about that). No activity really at all, I'm pretty much tied to my air purifier and going to getting things is hard, my lungs and muscles are both affected from the smoke/attack.
I really would like to be out in my garden, my husband kindly planted all the seeds I wanted out, now all that's left is some transplanting, carrots need some reseeding and I may still throw some basil seeds in the garden in a few spots between stuff.
Unfortunately I don't really have any pictures of the garden yet, would like to get some when I can go outside again. I have some pictures I took earlier when transplanting though - just potted stuff and I was focused more on the label/pots most of the time, not the plants themselves.

@AffyAvo
Aww I'm glad your husband was able to plant your seeds for you. Hopefully the air clears up and you recover soon so you can get back to gardening <3
@MonBon I hope so! He's way faster than I am outside but also less careful and observant. Plus it's supposed to be my hobby, not his although he gets the heavy jobs.
I'm also feeling a little bit like a prisoner in the house, especially as I can't being doing 'stuff' inside. I had to rest after getting towels before I could actually shower
Thank goodness for the internet!
@AffyAvo
Yes! The majority of my life would not be possible without the internet :o
@AffyAvo
Gosh! Those wildfires are pretty bad these days. I live in Oklahoma. April 2018, the county next to us to the north got burned up really bad. My hometown almost had to evacuate because it got so close to us. I hope we never go through it again. If you want to learn more about it, look up Rhea Fire.
@FaithfulPrune9638 It's sad. I knew quite a few people who had to deal with the Fort MacMurray fire 3 years ago, including some who got stuck in a work camp up North until it was safe to get on the highway again.
I live in a pretty major city, so it's unlikely fires would get close to here, there are too many communities & other developments outside city limits to act as a fire break. The smoke is so far reaching though, it affects such large areas well away from the evacuation areas!
@AffyAvo
Hey there!...
Wow.. sorry to hear that you are having another challenging time and situation where you are... I can't believe you are dealing with that again this year?! I know you had a difficult time with this last year.
Do you wear a mask at all? Would that help you out in any way?... Sorry to hear that all of this is affecting your ability to do the simple day to day things that you would like to enjoy.. I've been in that place emotionally/mentally and physically and its just not a good time~
How nice of your husband to help out with the garden... as bad as me not knowing much about that stuff, I could only imagine how much worse it would be trying to get my own husband to do something like that.. I have to laugh trying to picture it all now.. lol...
I love the photos.. I swear this is more than I could ever imagine getting started myself lol..... I told you I am NO "green-thumb" by any means... Great photos! Thank you for sharing them....
I hope things start to clear up where you are. Thank you for being able to take the time to check in and also post your photos with everything going on and keeping us up-dated on how things are going!..
@PoliteOcean Last year the smoke was more towards the end of summer, I recall it had hit basically as I was returning from my hometown. They are actually sending some people home now due to a shift in winds and our air quality has been good the last few days. Hopefully that will last, there's some good rain that's forecasted, but it's a bit far out still so could change.
Masks unfortunately aren't all that helpful, it only works for some aspects of what's in the smoke and generally not recommended for anyone with health issues, as it just makes breathing more difficult.
My husband is helpful but not always the most observant and is questionable about following my directions. I think it's better when I can be out there directly supervising! Today he just commented on how none of my squash is up, 1) it's been a week 2) a bunch are coming up, just need to look down into where the soil is cracking up, they aren't above the soil line. He gets things done quickly though, the day he promised me to plant a bunch of stuff I was feeling a bit impatient as he did a bunch of other yard stuff that wasn't on my priority list, but I was thinking more on my timeline, I need way more breaks, so he gets stuff done.
I've been happy to at least get out again. Not really working in the garden as I'm not up to it. I did wipe off a bunch of eggs on the broccoli-crosses though (needed to grab a little low chair partway through) and I'll have some more pictures to share. I ended up having an asthma attack last night, so just trying to ease myself back to normal daily movement. Thinking I might need to cancel the gym this week, especially since it is traditional circuit.
@PoliteOcean This week went pretty smoothly. The physical therapists here really like me. Most of the people they work with are both really old and in wheelchairs, so when they get a patient like myself, it cheers them up. Well, they took me out to Starbucks 3 times in one week. Prior to this year, I haven't been to Starbucks in 10 years or longer. They are trying to build up my stamina since Starbucks is within walking distance of my rehab. I could never walk there by myself because I would be too afraid of something going wrong with no one to help me. I asked my doctor for new sleeping meds but I haven't heard back from him. Trying to get a good night's sleep every night is a chore. The nurses can be really loud sometimes. During my absence, there was a lot of new 7 cups members. I never see any of the old mods anymore. It takes such a long time to become friends with someone, and there is such a high turnover rate of members, making new friends can be a burden. I come from a self-centered cold-hearted family, so 7 cups is my only support system.
@Regmo
Thats great that you got to go to Starbucks and also cheer up the therapists! Just dont drink too much coffee haha. I think thats a creative way of motivating someone to move around.
I hope you can get those sleeping meds soon. I know how hard it is to be tired but not be able to sleep
. Hopefully those nurses quiet down until then.
And yeah, Im one of the realitively new people here on 7 Cups (I actually had an account a long time ago but I forgot my login). Ive been to 9 different schools in my lifetime, so I get how making new friends can be hard. But I hope we can be friends :)
Well I think I wrote my post and then got sick the day after.. because I've been sick for 3 days now. It got really bad yesterday with my asthma kicking in and so I had to go see the doctor and get breathing treatments. Still hoping to do everything though, In fact, I'm hoping when my sister gets home to go to the store. I'm not well enough for the buses yet, but there are some things i need...
Oh and I reread what I wrote.. I put off the ARC for a month, not a year.. I probably just seems like I year.
hey!
**HELLO Everyone! How has your week been for you?
this week has been chaotic so far.... i am having big big relationship troubles and exams are stressful. :( due to relationship issues i am not able to get enough sleep either.
**This is The FIRST DAY of JUNE!! And our FIRST check-in for this Month!....What are you looking forward to the Most?
SUMMER! summer summer summer. i am so so so looking forward to warm weather.
**How many of you Reached or Achieved a Goal for yourself in the Month of May?! What was it?!.... What are your goals or plans for this New Month ahead?!
my goals are staying confident, positive and motivated.
**Can you name "ONE" healthy goal (for Each) that you will work towards or focus on this month for your Physical, Mental, and Emotional Health?!
physical: doing workout 2 times per week
mental & emotional: taking care of myself by relaxing and music
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?!
highlights: i bought some new clothes! :) and i spend good time with some friends.
struggles: exams, boyfriend (i am going to break up with him next week and that is really sad)
@AveryLove
Hi! I hope your exams arent too bad. Im sure youll do great on them :) I just finished my exams last week actually, and I felt so much better after they were done, so just hang in there! I hope you resolve those issues soon so that you can get enough sleep, because thats really important, especially during exams.
Im looking forward to summer, too (well isnt everyone XD)! Where I am, its over 80 degrees and I am literally burning up in my room even with the fan on
.
I think staying confident, positive, and motivated are all great goals to have, especially so that you can keep a balance in your life during summer when you have fewer obligations.
Working out sounds like a great goal as well so that you can keep in shape during the summer as well! I know lots of us like to just sit around all day when we have time off haha. Im sure youll have plenty of time to relax this summer, and music sure can do wonders for calming people down! Personally, I like to write songs as well, but listening to them sure is another great way to relax.
New clothes are always refreshing and even more so when school is over. Im glad you got to spend some time with your friends. Hopefully youll see them frequently during break as well! Its unfortunate to hear that youll be breaking up with your boyfriend :( But Im sure youll find someone better soon!
I hope you enjoy your summer!
