🌞 This past week went well... Started off the weekend enjoying
Father's Day on Sunday with my loved ones. We had a really nice and
enjoyable time together. I didn't really stay on my best track with
Meal-planning or sleep due to all the busy-ness that the rest of the
week brought me. But, I did manage to at least stay on track with
hydration as well as Step & activity goals.
🌴 This past
week I went on a Get-away to the Beach~ I had a great time there as
well. It was so nice just being away from the everyday things and to be
and feel at one with one of my top favorite places to be. The weather
was so nice and the Ocean was so peaceful and beautiful. I can't seem to
ever get enough of it when I'm there. I got in some good walking time,
and managed to meet all all my daily Step-goals that I set for myself
while there. And it was a great way to "Bring in the Summer" season!
@PoliteOcean
Here’s how the past week went. Sunday my Fire TV Stick from Amazon arrived. I tried installing it but it came with an HDMI cable which made it bulky and awkward so I decided it wasn’t right for me. Monday I hired a new caretaker Avril. Leslie didn’t take the plastic off my mattress so my blankets slide off. Putting them back on is bad for my shoulders. Wednesday was Avril’s first day of work. She took me to the library and then for a walk by the marina. Fortunately, I was able to get a critical errand done. Thursday she didn’t show up for work, so I had to terminate her. Thursday my new meds arrived which includes my anti-cholesterol med Crestor and my vitamin D. My recent blood test indicates that I’m extremely low in vitamin D. June is PTSD awareness month. Leslie’s adult children just burst into the house unannounced and make a racket. Friday I noticed someone had taken my toiletry bag. Leslie found it in Dennis’ dresser drawer. Saturday, it was missing again, and Alan found it in his dresser drawer again. I don’t want to rife through Dennis’ personal belongings because I might touch his dirty diaper or something. Right now, I’m keeping my toiletry bag in my bedroom but I don’t have the space for it. Friday I had to skip my collagen peptides because there were no glasses available. Friday I hired a new caretaker Yolanda. She is supposed to bring her paperwork by on Monday and her first day of work is supposed to be on Wednesday. Amanda hasn’t been feeding me breakfast on the weekend. If I pay Leslie money to feed me and she doesn’t feed me that is fraud. If I contact my social worker and complain and she talks to Leslie, she is going to give me an eviction notice. Irregular meal times can cause diabetes. If I accuse Leslie of trying to give me diabetes she is going to give me an eviction notice. I’ve been using my Helichrysum Italicum on my unhealed wound for 3 weeks and I haven’t seen any improvement yet.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~.... Thats too bad your Firestick didn't work out for you. I know its something that we've enjoyed throughout the years. Although I'm not the one who operates it much.... Thats crazy that things didn't work out with "Avril". I guess the good thing is that you found out she wasn't a good fit for you sooner rather than later. And that you were at least able to get your "critical errand" taken care of beforehand....But even better that you were able to find a "New" caregiver so fast afterwards. Hopefully she will work better for you.... Thats good your meds arrived for you, perhaps you could also try getting out and sitting in the Sunshine as well. Just getting up to 20 Minutes a day, even just on the back of your hands, (without sunscreen & long enough to absorb the suns rays) can help with that. Thats really crazy that Dennis keeps taking your items! Somebody there needs to do something about that! I don't know if you are sharing a room? Could you get a lock on your door if you are? Or... Even if you could scrape together enough money to get some type of "Lock box". Something to keep your things in. Maybe wear the key around your neck so nobody can get into it? Especially Dennis. Although some of them come where you could can type in your own code. I guess whatever is cheaper and easiest could work. Doesn't sound like the stuff that you ordered is working for your wound if you haven't seen any improvements in that time. 3 Weeks is definitely enough time where you should've noticed something. Have you had it looked at by your dermatologist? Sounds like you need a prescription for it. Thanks for checking in this week, sharing and continuing to keep us up to date on how things are going.
One healthy thing: reminding myself of my goal -- when things are starting to feel frightening, try to get myself to imagine the realistic optimist response.
@nordurnStar
Hey there Star~
Hopefully for you, you enjoyed the time with your family and sitting out in the beautiful sunshine. How exciting for you that you will be moving soon. "Fresh starts" can be nice.
How awesome for you that you are working on practicing "Realistic Optimism" for yourself. Hopefully you will find that you are reaping the benefits or your desired outcome (during what can be a stressful time of different transitions).
And its great that you are continuing to create and set healthy goals for yourself, (by continuing to remind yourself of those goals). Especially when things are starting to feel frightening for you.... You are doing a great job for yourself. Continue to keep up the great work!
And thank you for checking in this week and continuing to share with us, and letting us know how things are going!
My foot is slowly getting better this week. Only hurts in one area with slight swelling. My migraine have faded since going back on medication. Stress levels went through the roof at home and work. Did okay with 2 years without meds. See how I would handle things. Okay to be back on them again.
Been looking at apartments and condos so I can be a bit more independent on my own. New journey in my life. Glad to explore.
@MoonLightShadow423
Hey there Moonlight~ Thats great for you that your foot is healing and getting better. And that your migraines have faded due to going back on your medication. And yes, you are right, its certainly Ok to be back on them if you find that your body needs them and that they help you!
Good luck to you on your continued search for apartments/condos. And on your goal towards being more independent & New Journeys! How exciting for you.
Thank you for checking in this week and sharing. Please continue to keep us up to date on how things are going and how you are doing in your search and goals towards independence!
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
Hey Everyone are you this week? Right now, I'm ok.
🌞 What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?! I hurt my wrist. I've got weak wrists, so I've done it before. But this time was the worst. I put a brace and bandage on it, and tried not to use that hand much. It finally feels healed.
🍍 What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~ Its good that you are doing OK right now in the moment~
I find it interesting how we all perceive things for ourselves...whether its watching time pass, or wanting to remain in the present (or for some even staying in the past)..... I know for me personally, I don't like getting too far ahead of myself or planning too far ahead. I prefer to enjoy the present as much as I can or am able to since nobody knows what the future holds..... But I do understand how others like to look forwards and remain optimistic of future time. Just more things that make us all who we are as a person.
I think thats awesome that you have started working out again as well as incorporating many other healthy choices (such as meditating & focusing on what you eat)!... What type of workouts are you enjoying the most?
How interesting that you are working on "Hawaiian". Let us know how that is continuing to come along for you. And your progress.
Thats too bad that you hurt your wrists, but , but thats good that you knew what to do to take care of and manage it, and that its finally healing up for you.
Thank you for checking in and sharing with us this week. Please continue to let us know how things are moving forwards for you.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
I do calisthenics with small weights. I've gone back to that type of workout all my life.
The Hawaiian is easy to learn but I don't have anyone to speak it with, so I'm afraid I forget. But, I'm not giving up. lol It's fun.
Eating better and resisting the urge to get fast food was a win this past week. I was active as a result of required activities but did not specifically exercise much.
I will walk with a group on a trail Wednesday.
@purpleFig7203
Hey there Fig~ That is SOOO Awesome for you that you were able to not only "Resist fast foods", but that you were also able to be active as well! What a great job! Keep up the great work that you are doing with those things. Every small step counts and adds up to bigger ones. Keep going! And enjoy your "Group trail walk"! How fun!
And thank you for checking in and sharing with us this week! Please check back and continue to let us know how you are doing (and how your group walk went)!
