**AND ANY & ALL NEWBIES!! YOU ARE WELCOME TO SHARE!!
**This week has gone well... another week of low Anxiety for the most part... Just continued to keep myself busy so I don't have to let any un-wanted thought in that could kick my anxiety up...
**Stayed the course with Exercises, Activity, Teaching my Zumba classes, eating well, and increasing water-intake... Un-doing "Post Holiday damage" is taking a little longer than I'd like but I'm getting there, or at least trying to! lol.... The weather is FINALLY starting to cooperate some
, and I was able to get out walking "Twice" this week.. I also got my Puppy outside several times this past week for his walk down by the local lake! So we were both pretty excited to be out and about again doing what we love to do.... The weather ahead for the next week, is looking pretty good as well, so I'm anticipating more Walks... I have actually found that when I walk the hills throughout my neighborhood, that with the "intervals" of the Hills, I burn MORE calories in 40 minutes of walking it, than my hour long Zumba class!.... So THAT is why I get SOO excited to get back out there.... I've been continuing this past week with "Strength training" as well, and toning up muscles by incorporating a "Zumba Toning" class.... The more we age, the more muscle-mass we lose, which can interfere sometimes with the results that we are searching for... I know how important that is and can be, so I'm hoping to stay the course with that and continue with at least 2-3 days of that a week.... Because I know that I need that for sure and that is something I'm glad I picked back up this month and will take with me into the new month ahead.
**Today is supposed to be REST Day, but, since I took last Saturday off, and Today is Also "POUND Fitness" day up the street from me, I've gotta go! lol..... I don't like to miss a POUND Class... Just a little over 3 more weeks and I will be licensed to teach it myself. I've already got an offer from a Fitness studio for me to teach it there.. Its a studio I first started out at as a Zumba Instructor. So will see what happens there and if thats something I can workout or work on. There was a reason I "left" there afterall lol...
**Last, Tomorrow is Easter, and while I'm not a "Regular" Church-goer, I do like to go... And I really like going around the Holidays So I would like to plan to go, and then my mom's also making Easter Dinner sometime over the course of the day. I don't really have a "stay-on-track" plan for Easter dinner, I will just try to do my best with it all...I do intend to workout 'BEFORE" going over to help off-set things...And if I slip-up too much then the best thing I can do is get right back on track come Monday...We don't really celebrate Easter in its "Traditional" sense of the word, but, its a "Holiday" and thats what brings me and my family together, so, I'm always for anything that keeps us close!
I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE'S WEEK HAS GONE WELL~ AND hope you Have a Great Weekend Ahead! .... AND for those celebrating, Have a Happy Easter Holiday or "Spring-Break" too!
@PoliteOcean
Yay for low anxiety again! :D you're on a roll, I hope it continues!! Keeping busy really does help a lot with distracting our thoughts and not letting our minds stray to the dark side of our thoughts.
Haha undoing post-holiday damage does take a lot longer sometimes, but it's great to hear you're still on track and keeping the enthusiasm up! It's finally feeling like Spring for you! :D I'm going to guess your little pup was very happy with you and the weather hahaha great you live in a neighbourhood with both a lot of hills AND a lake!! Sounds like an amazing neighbourhood for a living healthy if you ask me! Zumba Toning sounds so good, it's great that you've found it and are planning on continuing! I hope it goes well and you see improvements!
OMG congratulations!!! On both 3 weeks left until licencing, AND getting an offer to teach! (and the offer happened before you're even licenced! You must be one awesome, special trainer then aye ;) )
Easter is a holiday, so treat yo'self! :D Easter Dinner sounds awesome, what food do you eat? I do love your positivity and mentality- if it happens, it happens. We just have to find ways to solve it afterwards! Anything that brings family closer together is always a wonderful thing. <3 Happy Easter to you! :D xx
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca! Thanks for always being so supportive and encouraging!
Yes, Spring is finally "trying" to arrive and push its way through here! lol.... Its going to get a little chilly in the upcoming weekend again, but, for now and the next few days, that weather should be decent. And yes, My puppy has been so HAPPY to get out and about and do the things that puppies like to do! Chase birds, sniff things and frolick in the grass! lol.....
Yes we do also live in a pretty decent neighborhood to get a good walk in with the hills, as well as the nearby lake too.... I would LOVE however to live near a Beach one day! I'd probably Never come inside! I'd be walking the beach all day everyday lol...
And yes, I've gotten back into Zumba Toning again... I do teach it, however I've been going to someone else's class... But its inspired me to start teaching this again on a more regular basis as well... and perhaps adding it back into some of my classes. I know I need to build some more muscle to help with strength, toning and to help tone up and slim down some....
And yes, I also enjoyed the Easter holiday with my family... anytime with family is always a great time for me, because we are usually always so busy with our personal lives that it doesn't happen as often as I'd like. So it went really well... and I actually did pretty well.. I only had one plate to start of food, and then later in the day had another... And very little dessert... My mom made my favorite dessert, and I split it with my son so I wouldn't eat as much! lol....So it worked out!
I hope that you had an awesome weekend!
@PoliteOcean
:D the beachhhhhhh!!! Its so relaxing and calming, and surrounded by (usually) very active people haha
Its awesome that Easter your family all got to get together again! Everyone living different lives does make it hard to come together, but glad you used the public holidays and celebrations to do that! :) and how did you resist your favourite dessert?! (Also what is it haha) very well done though, I applaud you so much!!!
@PoliteOcean
Yay! Hooray for low anxiety :)
Oh, increasing water intake, oh so important to create this habit much before the temperatues get too hot. I hear you are about the post-holiday damage. Calories are so much easier to store and depost than they are to burn; your consistency sounds like it is paying off in the form of healthy habits and positive self-talk :)
Yay! Outside and happy puppy weather, wonderful temps and beautiful views :) And burnt calories: just about the only thing that is useful when it is burned. Muscle atrophy, ugh.
Congrats on the offer at the gym of your Zumba origins! That is so affirming to hear.
Stimulating that appetite aids metabolism, good thinking ;)
Thank you and my Easter is going well. :) I hope you were able to work out before the festivities.
@SteadfastStatue
Yes YAYY for low anxiety days..
And yes, I've really been trying to do better with the water, I don't do really well with it during the fall and winter months.... But the warmer it starts to get and the arrival of spring and summer, I do so much better. I 've been trying to do my best to keep track of it on my FITBIT App...
Also yes, the puppy is having a BLAST enjoying the outdoors and spring weather!... Its gets us BOTH out of the house and doing something healthy.
I'm glad that you had a Great Easter!... and yes, Mine went really well too with my family. And I managed to get workouts in Before AND After dinner (in the morning and again in the evening..) I had to work off some of that Easter dinner! My mom is such an Awesome Cook! lol...But I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. lol
Thanks for always being such a great support! I hope your weekend was awesome for you!
@PoliteOcean wow that is brilliant, pre and post workout. I bet the food was excellent fuel :)
@PoliteOcean
*How has everyone been doing and feeling over this past week?!
I've been procrastinating, so it's been good and extremely stressful hahaha
*Today is the Last day of March, How do you feel March has gone for you "Overall"? What has gone well, or have you accomplished?
Overall, March has been amazing! New beginnings for the most part, and fun times. I do love meeting new people, doing new things, experiencing new things etc. Hmm, what's gone well... I've met new people that I like! Also, I've only been lost twice, which is amazing, considering that my mum and I call ourselves directionally-challenged!!!
*What things have you learned or can you take with you into the "New" month ahead?
I've learnt to not procrastinate as much and leave things to the last minute and to get help when you need it. Or even better, get help before you're really struggling! But to be completely honest, I've already learnt that over the years but I just need to put it into action!!
*What have been the biggest "highlights" of the past week?
Highlights... I've met new people and enjoyed learning something new! It's always great when I can learn something AND enjoy it at the same time.
*How many of you will be celebrating the EASTER Holiday or Spring Break this weekend? What are your plans? How do you plan to stay on track?
Not me! It's the Easter long weekend here, but I don't celebrate it and I have Mondays and Fridays off anyway, so the long weekend is like a normal week for me haha
*What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
Hmm, can't think of much at the moment! Been struggling with personal issues currently, but will get better soon :) xx
@rebecca947
I'm sorry to hear that things have been stressful and that you feel you'be been procrastinating!... But I see that perhaps you are thinking on things to help yourself in the coming month ahead to do better?! Perhaps making little lists that can help you stay on task, or as you said asking for help if needed! Theres nothing wrong with asking for help if you aren't able to handle things yourself.... But its good that you recognized the habit! And I know that you can do whatever you set your mind to do!
Its really awesome that Overall March has been amazing for you!! Also New beginnings for the most part can sometimes be really "refreshing".... Its also great that you love meeting new people, doing new things, & experiencing new things!! Sounds like you are really adventurous and always up for a new and exciting challenge?! lol

While you didn't or don't celebrate the Easter holiday, its still pretty awesome that you have off Mondays and Fridays! What two better days of the week to be off!?! lol... (Well other than Saturdays!) lol...
I'm also sorry to hear that you are still struggling with personal issues... I do hope that its nothing too serious and that things start to come together for you!... Feel free to reach out any time if you need to chat!
Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
Hey I'm doing alright, hope everyone is well. March was like anyother month ups/downs and lots of down time. Nothing much happened in March, I have been working on extending a olive branch and to sy what's up to try not to be so shy etc....getting along with friends. I also contacted a old friend on Instagram and asked if they would like to follow up, waiting on the answer so that was cool. I will be taking part in Easter I might go to George's mom's house idk yet lol. Just try the best that I can, also a extra tidbit I saw a gaint turkey in my backyard yesterday, they claim that that is a good sign who knows lol. Trying to go along with the flow and hope for good stuff etc...
@MelanieDaniels63
Sounds like a really good check-in for you Melanie!...It sounds like things have been going really well for you and thats great.
Also seeing a gaint turkey in my backyard sounds really interesting?! Do you know where it came from??! Its good that you've heard its a good sign.. I'm sure we could all take a little bit of good luck whereever we can get it ! lol...Keep up the great work that you are doing and thank you so much for checking in this week and touching base with us, and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean Thanks, yea that is not the first time that turkeys were in my back yard. I think it was last year there was a whole bunch of them. They chill for like hours, I looked it up come to find that where I am from they have been seen so idk lol. Your welcome and hanks for the comment and kind words.
@MelanieDaniels63 How are things on the communication front with the old pal/classmate?
@SteadfastStatue Yea idk we talked like 2 times and now nothing, idk if he blocked me but I did nothing to get blocked. I am new to this stuff so idk what happened, have not heard back since last time. I tried to leave a message so maybe he is just busy idk, it's fine though. Have a great day/night!
@MelanieDaniels63 Hhmm, that is intriguing. Sounds like a situation of it it what it is. When I read your initial post, I thought about some of the people I used to talk to but annexed from. Hope that reaching out served as a way to reconcile things, even if you were unable to get a response.
thank you for your well-wishes, I also wish you peace
@SteadfastStatue Thanks have a great day/night!
Looking forward now that it is Spring. Have been outside in fresh air a lot more. Just the warmth of the sun when walking is very relaxing. Walking a lot and getting more exercise. Feels good to get outside and work in the garden. Three more holiday pounds to lose. Easter dinner with the family tomorrow. Warmer weather always helps me with motivation after the winter. Keeping anxiety in check. Enjoy your Easter.
@sail46
Sounds like another great check-in for you Sail! Its great that you are enjoying the weather, your garden, keeping calm, and close to working off those holiday pounds! I'm still working on mine as well, but not as close as you are lol....
Hope that you enjoyed your family time and had a great Easter weekend with your family.. Thanks so much for checking in this week! Its always great to hear from you, and keep up the awesome work that you have been doing!
overall, March has been a month of growth. In addition, I have just started my halfway point with the internship; time flies. I look forward to sending my paperwork off for school towards the end of next week. Hope everyone is well.
my overall mental health and physical health are exceeding my expectations rn which is great :)
@SteadfastStatue
Hey there Stead
Its great to see you check in regularly here day to day.. That awesome for you that you have March to be a month of growth for you.... I think we all have room to grow and change. And awesome for you on making your half-way point with your internship! Congrats!! It really is going by fast for you. I wish you the best of luck on getting all of your paperwork organized and sent off for school! Sounds so exciting for you.
And how even MORE awesome for you that you are seeing Positive changes in your mental and physical health!.. That is really, truly Amazing for you!... What a wonderful check in for you! Continue the great job and the amazing things that you are doing! Sounds like you have many bright days ahead for your future!
@PoliteOcean. You are thoughtful to encourage me along. I do feel that all of what I do is tied into how I feel, about my stewardship in my life, my life essence and purpose. I wouldnt say that I am an existentialist but I do care about finding a niche and a way to set myself and others up for success, to be authentic and partaking in activities that move my soul, body, mind, as one.
Workout this week was a traditional circuit again. It was harder than the last, my trainer was impressed with how well I did although swapping exercises/extra breaks/lighter weights/modifications were done lots. I actually felt pretty horrible shortly after but the feeling didn't last too long. I really did exhaust myself, but tons of rest that day mostly remedied that, the day after was pretty typical for a day after any workout.
The weather here sucks. Lots of snow the last few days and now we're in cold snap mode, way colder than what is typical for this time of year. While it does get colder during the coldest days of winter, this temperatures do fall within cold snap ranges. I've planned an easier week, I was hoping to accomplish more things this upcoming week but now I think I might need the easier workout simply so I can deal with the weather.
@AffyAvo
Hey there Affy
Sounds like you have done great with keeping up with your workouts this past week....And thats really great for you that your trainer was impressed with your efforts. That surely a really positive thing for you. Sorry to hear that you didn't feel so great afterwards, But its good that you were able to get the rest you needed to help with it all.
I know what you are saying in regards to the weather.... It just seems to be really "wacky" since the winter weather has began..Our weather here has been so back and forth... We had an "Actual" day or two of Spring weather, but then by the upcoming weekend they are calling for a winter temperature again?... I'm like "good grief" lol.... It would be nice to just get some "continuous" cooperation with it all... Its no wonder some can't get to feeling their best when its been so back and forth (or not forth-coming at all) ~ Hopefully soon though! My poor son and his allergies, he's up and down all throughout the year.... I wear a mask here in the winter and spring sometimes... I can only imagine how the weather must affect you. Take care of yourself and thanks so much for checking in this week!
@PoliteOcean
*How has everyone been doing and feeling over this past week?! pretty good, but kinda tired
*Today is the Last day of March, How do you feel March has gone for you "Overall"? What has gone well, or have you accomplished? March was pretty meh. Nothing bad or exciting
*What things have you learned or can you take with you into the "New" month ahead? not getting down on myself about my illness
*What have been the biggest "highlights" of the past week? ice cream with my co-workers
*How many of you will be celebrating the EASTER Holiday or Spring Break this weekend? What are your plans? How do you plan to stay on track? I am eating dinner with friends tomorrow PM
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellie!
Sounds like a decent check-in for you!..
Sounds like the highlights for you were not getting down on yourself about your illness (which I know is not always easy!) So that is great for you!
And also ice cream with co-workers! Sounds like a great treat for yourself! Keep up the great work that you are doing, and I hope that you enjoyed dinner with your friends as well as the Easter holiday. Thanks for checking in this week!
I did a little better with exercise this past week. I am off for spring break this week so I should find time to get in all my exercise. I have been bad with treats, including pie yesterday at a family dinner and will have birthday cake today for my son. I gave up alcohol for 6 weeks, and then waaaay overdid it drinking wine on Friday night. We have a big family event coming up on Saturday, with preliminaries on Friday - plenty of opportunities to be anxious all week! I hope to get to the park to do some outdoor woods walking to keep me calmer.
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad!..
Glad to hear that you were able to be on track with your exercise over the past week...thats great that you feel you did better in that area. I hope that you are enjoying your Spring Break. I know how great it is to get that whole week off whether you have a vacation or a "stay-cation".... Its good to just un-wind and relax the mind from work, school, students etc...It just great to have that "re-charge"! Then to come back from it all, ready to conquer those last 6 weeks or so until Summer break! lol...
Also dont be too hard on yourself for "treating" yourself... I know we can get off track every now and then, but in the grand scheme of things, we have to ask ourselves, "Was it worth it", and "Did I enjoy it", but even more-so, Its time spent with your family, and son, etc.. we have to cherish those times with our loved ones any way we get to spend with them... Even if it means that piece of pie, or slice of cake etc... We shouldn't allow ourselves to get hung up on a "special occasion" gone wrong due to consuming something we feel we shouldn't have... I will spend the rest of the week working off just Easter Sunday, but was it worth it? Heck yeah! lol... My mom's cooking is the BEST and I wouldn't have it any other way. We have to enjoy those moments while we can! Then just get back on track the next day..
Also congrats to you on 6 weeks without Alcohol!.. Great for you.. and having a drink or two since then is ok. Because you did it 'once".. you managed to go 6 weeks, so that means you can do it again as well! When you are ready.
I hope that you are able to make it to the park to get your walk in as well, and that you continue to enjoy your week off! Thanks for checking in this week, always great to hear from you!
@SadMe70 I hope you were able to visit the woods ^_^
@SteadfastStatue Yes I was, thank you!
@SadMe70 You're welcome ^_^
i am in the process of reevaluating my exercise regime. I hooe to further consolidate my three days a week to perhaps two days a week. I know that it probably isnt advisable. I will have to think on it. Thoughts?
@SteadfastStatue
Hey Stead!...
That is great for you that you are taking the time to reevaluate things and your exercise regime.... When you say you are looking to consolidate your 3 days into 2 days, do you mean just "cut back a day".. OR.. too actually "workout MORE" in 2 days to cover that 3rd day that you wouldn't be working out? Just trying to clarify...
I would say there is nothing wrong with that depending on how much, how hard and how long you've worked out for in that time.. But more specifically in "each particular day".... As I'm not fully sure what your actual goals are with working out (to lose weight, to gain muscle, to burn a certain amount of calories etc..etc..etc...)...
But if you decided to tackle MORE exercise in 2 days, I would say to just be certain you are "fueling" your body properly for those workouts. Because of the amount of calories that you may be burning if it ends up being alot?
Whatever your ultimate goal is, I do wish you the best of luck on the making the choices that are Best for you and your own health! I'm sure whatever you decide to do, that you will think it through thouroghly and make the best decision. Thanks for checking in this week. I hope you enjoyed your weekend!
Ocean :) i will be lengthening my regimes across two days. Intensity remains the same. I just do yoga and calisthenics. :)
i will give it more thought . My main reason is to free up other days since i will aim to start school soon.
health challenge is well started here. even that i got a new badge for making 1 000 forum posts
@vivelespatates
Thats awesome Viv congrats on the New badge!... I need to check mine.. I hardly ever check that stuff lol.... Its always nice to get a Shiny new badge that we've worked hard to earn.
@PoliteOcean you have this one for a very long time now, you have lot over 4.321 posts lol
