🍁 This past week went well. I started off the weekend going to a Fall Festival last Saturday and then a Fitness Expo on Sunday. The weather was amazing for both! I got lots of goodies, Info, Swag-Bags of Free fitness and wellness items, and got to enjoy different fitness demos while getting in tons of steps & activity.

🎃 The weather was amazing this week. I continued on track with my wellness goals. Got out and about, and continued with my group Fitness classes. I’m also almost done creating my first playlist & choreo (after over a year), to eventually be ready to get back to instructing again.

🌛 This weekend is a Long holiday weekend here. I am heading back to the Beach for one last weekend hoorah! I’m also going to do a ghost tour and some sightseeing as well. The weather will be wonderful and October is MY Month!

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

I enjoy reading your responses to the questions.  I can just picture you out and about with a smile.  You must get so many steps in.

Hey Everyone~ How has your week been? How are you feeling today?!… Do you have any plans for the long weekend ahead?  Oh, I don't have a long weekend.  What is your long weekend for? My week has been ok, except I had to work with the student I would like to fire.  It wasn't the end of the world, but it wasn't enjoyable.  Today I'm feeling very relaxed.  I decided to sleep all day.  I needed that and it was a good choice because I was thinking of diving into some bad habits, but I talked myself out of them.  Tomorrow I have to grocery shop and then write a paper.

🌛This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of OCTOBER!~ What is One thing you are looking forwards to this month?… What is your favorite part about October? I always look for the fall and winter to end.  I also always look for school to end.  I don't enjoy school.  I'm still trying to find a rhythm for my schedule since it has changed so drastically when school and working overnight started.

🎃 What Are some New Goals that you’d like to set or create this month? What steps could you take to achieve them?  Well, I found out that the dress code at work does not apply to the student I would like to fire.  I don't why, but she is being protected.  So I have to figure out a way to ignore the dress code for her.  Honestly, I am going to try to talk to this student less.

👻JUST FOR FUN: If you were forced to do so, Would you Rather stay the night in a Haunted House OR a Haunted Cemetery?  I think the cemetery.

🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?!  I got through my week and I'll take that as a good think.  I wrote a couple good papers for school and am now off doing my own thing over the weekend.

Hey there Tree~

Thank you! I too enjoy reading yours (and everyone’s) responses and hearing about everyone’s week!

Columbus Day (on Monday) is what’s being celebrated (per the calendar)…. I know typically it’s observed as a holiday for banks/government/schools etc… but I’m sure probably not for everyone.

That’s great for you that your week was Ok. Other than dealing with that student of course! I know it can be so challenging working with someone who is difficult to deal with. But that’s great that you were able to find time for some relaxation and got to sleep in for a bit! Sometimes we just need to do that for ourselves. I try to do that at least on Sundays (sleep as long as I can). Since I’m up early every other day of the week. You made a great choice to take care of yourself for sure. And that’s great to hear that you were also able to push through and talk yourself out of any unhealthy habits! Great job to you! Keep up the awesome work.

Im sure as you continue to Progress forwards that your schedule will come together and you will find the “rhythm” that you desire for yourself. It can just take some time for things like that to fall in place,…. But you’ll get there & it will happen for you!

That is odd (to me anyway) that this particular student doesn’t have to follow the dress code that’s in place? Something about that doesn’t sound right. But I think you have the right idea in perhaps just deal with her “Only” when and if you have to. I know It doesn’t completely solve the problem, BUT it certainly might make your day better when you do have to be around her. And hopefully for you as time goes on this situation with her will resolve itself in one way or another. Hang in there. We are here to support you. And please keep us updated on things there.

I hope that you were able to enjoy your down-time and your weekend! You deserve it!

I appreciate you checking in this week and just simply letting us know how you’ve been doing. Please continue to keep up to date.

🍁Hey Everyone~ How has your week been? How are you feeling today?!… Do you have any plans for the long weekend ahead?

I'm feeling OK I guess? Could be better. I was planning on celebrating my little one's belated bday this weekend, but doing overtime/make-up time this Saturday instead, so going to move his celebration to Sunday. However, I feel bad, because I don't have a lot of money at the moment so... going to take him out for ice cream and the park more likely and spend time with him. He's maybe toddler-preschoolish age.

🌛This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of OCTOBER!~ What is One thing you are looking forwards to this month?… What is your favorite part about October?

To be honest, October is my least favourite month... it also happens to be my birthday month. I only started to like this month after I had my little one, since its also his birthday month now, so I guess I look forward to most is his birthday (which passed a little bit ago).

I generally dont celebrate any holidays, but since I have a little one, I'm forcing myself to, so he doesn't miss out on the fun.

🎃 What Are some New Goals that you’d like to set or create this month? What steps could you take to achieve them?
My goals are simple:
  • Working out/exercising daily
  • Eat healthier (skip the junk food entirely and fast food, cook more)
  • Get more sleep
  • Spend more quality time with little one.
  • Digital detox/declutter
  • Keep the house organized/clean (been feeling depressed, and neglected it a bit, getting it back into shape though!)
  • Quit vices (ex. Eating junk food, caffeine, never drinking alcohol again because it affects my workouts/health, no more smoking MJ nor vaping, etc etc)
  • Budgeting better
  • More self-care
  • Spend time on old hobbies (ex. Drawing, making music, learning languages, sewing, computer programming, etc) and learning new hobbies

👻JUST FOR FUN: If you were forced to do so, Would you Rather stay the night in a Haunted House OR a Haunted Cemetery?
Hmm... maybe a haunted house to admire the Gothic architecture, but the haunted cemetery if it comes with dodging or escaping spooky creatures lol.

🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles” of the week?......How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Good question hmm...

Well, I was struggling to pay rent with my close to minimum wage, part-time, temporary contract job. I had to miss out on pay due to taking the little one to the hospital many times. Then I kept procrastinating and it piled up... the highlight was I finally asked for help from someone who offered a long time ago, and I'm making efforts to pay him back.

He's someone I started dating a few months ago, and I don't want him to feel obligated to me or anything, so I already paid back a little bit, since I get paid weekly.

🌛What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?!…. WE want to hear from YOU!~

I've been feeling rather blue lately... and the feeling hasn't gone away since forever. I have many things I need to do and complete, however I can't help but feel stressed. For nearly all of my life, I've had PTSD due to multiple traumatic evento, and I'm still learning to cope with it after all these years.

Even when life gets better, I don't know how to enjoy it...

I've also been dating someone else who has severe PTSD, and went through tremendous amount of things as well. I like him quite a lot and we talk daily for hours on the phone due to living a few hours away. I used to see him on the weekends, but he's a bit busier now, so I haven't had the chance to see him as much anymore. He should be coming next weekend though.

Hey there~ That’s good for you that for the most part that you are feeling ok this week.

I think it’s great that you are going to make some time to celebrate your Toddlers Birthday. I understand as a parent myself that you may like to do more or give more, but remember that the best thing we can give our kids is “our time and lots of love”. The fact that you will make time to do some favorite things and treat them will be special in itself! Enjoy!

I also think it’s great that despite not celebrating holidays, that you are prioritizing your child first and making time for them to enjoy them. Perhaps you will start to see things differently for yourself as you continue to celebrate through “your child’s eyes”?!

OMG!! I LOVE your detailed list! That is quite a list of goals for yourself. And it sounds like you have given them much time and thought?! I have no doubt you will and CAN continue to conquer these healthy list of goals that you are setting for yourself! And as well setting a wonderful example for your child going forwards!

We are sorry to hear that you got behind on some bills, but you had a good excuse if it meant putting your child first and taking care of them. The important thing is that you don’t want to stay in that place and are working to correct and resolve the issues. And how wonderful for you that you have someone who is willing to give you an extra helping hand if/when needed. Sounds like a keeper there.

We are sorry to hear that you’ve been struggling with feeling blue lately. That’s a challenging emotion to deal with. And dealing with PTSD on top of it while taking care of your kid, working, and trying to pay bills can surely add up. It can be difficult to cope with so many things but it’s great that you are “learning” to do so. Just remember to take time for yourself when needed and incorporate that SelfCare time doing things that you love and enjoy. And we are here at 7cups to support you!

Please keep us up to date on how things are going for you. And continue to let us know how you are doing. We are here for you. Thank you for sharing your week with us and for checking in!
Good luck with those goals, you can do it!

@PoliteOcean Here is how my past week went. Chuck worked for me 3 days, Mon, Tue, and Fri. I went to the library 3 times and read my poetry book 📚. I went for 3 walks by the marina. Tuesday morning I spent an hour trying to put an order through for groceries on my Obama phone but still couldn't get it to go through. It's beyond extremely aggravating 😡.  Sifa is so rude. He doesn't have good manners. Thursday my new journal arrived. I'm going to use it to write my favorite Bible verses by category. I broke up with my online girlfriend Deborah because she was a fraud. She had too many inconsistencies in her story. Fortunately I didn't send her any money.  I started taking Rhodiola about 3 weeks ago. It is supposed increase the bodies resistance to stress. Friday I found my NAS Bible. It was buried deep in the recesses of my closet. Storage space is very limited here. Thursday morning Stuart left a huge mess on the toilet. Fortunately Alan cleaned it up. I did a load of laundry here so I didn't have to pay $9 for Chuck to take it to the laundromat.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo~ That’s good for you that Chuck seems to be working out so far. And that you were able to get out and do things you enjoy. Great job to you on getting in 3 walks this week!… Thats too bad that you are having such a difficult time with your phone still. It’s really nice that your journal arrived and that you are going to use it to write your favorite verses. I guess that is something we have in common as I do that too! Which verse is your Most favorite? Do you have one? It’s so very difficult to trust anyone online these days. You have to be so very careful as we never know who we are truly dealing with. It’s good for you that you were able to see the inconsistencies in her story and was able to put a stop to any more interactions with her. Some people aren’t so fortunate sadly. You will have to keep us updated on if your Rhodiola works for you and how you are feeling from it. Thanks for checking in this week and sharing with us. Please continue to keep us up to date on how things are going.

@PoliteOcean My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 1:13 "I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly. " (NAS)

Hi, Reg,

I love that you quoted the bible.  I also love that verse.  I had to look it up to see what it meant.  That's a pretty powerful meaning.  Thank you for teaching that to me.  I hope I learn from it.
