🌞 This past week went well... Started off with a nice Labor Day weekend here. Got out and about, did some shopping, visited a few favorite places, watched some great movies, and had a nice Picnic on Labor Day~ And Kept up with several Appointments. Got in a couple days of swimming/pool-time, and decided to make a few small needed changes~
🐝 This past week I decided my long Summer Break of taking a break from Instructing, Fitness & Classes needed to change. Monday I will be getting back into AQUA classes two Nights a week. I will also start incorporating Cardio Classes a few times a week, weights and Stretching... And a Nutrition Plan. Looking forwards to getting started again.
🌻 This weekend I'm on my own today,... Just me and My Fur-baby.... No major plans but to Stay busy getting some things done around the house, and possibly getting out for a drive if the weather cooperates~ The weather is still going back and forth as it typically does before Autumn kicks in. I must admit, as much as I'll miss the Summer Season, Yesterday's nice, cool breeze actually felt really good on my skin. lol..
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
1. How has everyone been?.....very stressed and depressed
2. How did the FIrst week of September go for you?....What was your MOST Favorite part of the week? It was rough. I have been transplanting little zinnia sproutlings amongst flower pots to spread them out and give them space to grow.
3. How many of you are taking part in the "GRATITUDE CHALLENGE? ...What did you find to be Most Grateful for this week? I don’t think I know what the gratitude challenge is. I have a lot on my mind. I am grateful that I have a job.
4. Just for Fun: With the recent News of QUEEN ELIZABETH II, Wherever you are, whatever country you are from, Everyone knew of her!.... What Is Something that You Remember about her? I remember how mean she was to Diana.
5. What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?! My struggles were just getting through each day without a panic attack. But I have been waking up in the morning straight out of nightmares, and that is a horrible feeling. The only thing I can do is tell myself that it was just a dream, and I am ok, and my new job will be fine, and I will be able to support myself, and I am safe. That sort of self-reassurance talk.
6. What would "YOU" Like to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU! I’m alone and struggling as usual. I need people who care.
@purpleTree4652
Hi there Tree~
We are sorry to hear that you've been stressed out recently.... And that things have been rough for you. How lovely though that you have been able to transplant some sproutlings. Sounds like a nice way to take some time for yourself and redirect your thoughts and emotions.
Having a job that can support you and your needs is a really wonderful reason to be thankful!
Despite your challenges and struggles of trying to make a way through panic episodes and nightmares, that is great for you that you are able to re-assure yourself through "self-talk". And that you have been able to power through those matters. Keep up the great work.
Just know that 7cups is here for you. Whether here in the Support Subcommunities, the Group Support Rooms, or just in a One-to-One private chat, You have options here to find the help, support and care that you are looking for.
Thank you for stopping by to check in this week and sharing. And for letting everyone know how you are doing. Keep us up to date on how things are continuing to go for you.
@PoliteOcean Here’s how the past week went. Monday it was extremely hot here. Tunde and I agreed for him to take the entire week off because hot weather was forecast for the entire week. I was worried about having a heat stroke. Leslie has a fan in the living room, but it was still stressful having to deal with the heat. A couple of people in the chat room told me to stay hydrated. Tuesday Leslie bought an air conditioner and put it in the living room. It still took several hours for it to take effect. I had another wasted week doing absolutely nothing. I was consistent with my devotional time but that’s the only productive thing I did. Some cities in my area had record breaking heat. There is no fan or A/C in my bedroom. The other thing I was worried about was having rolling black outs because of the strain on the energy grid. Fortunately we didn’t have any of those. It gradually cooled off by Saturday. Saturday I was planning on studying art history, but Alan was around so I didn’t want to give up the remote control. I hate sharing the television. I use TV as a psychological pain killer. If I get married, I won’t be in pain anymore, so sharing the television won’t be a problem for me. I’m also going to be working on other projects so I will have a lot to keep me distracted. Wednesday I decided to skip my blood test for low testosterone, because I just couldn’t handle the stress. This past week I got my packet of forms to fill out to renew my government benefits. I’ve never had a problem with them getting renewed, so I’m not worried about it. I’m getting good vibes from the political party about having me participate, but the problem is they need a team leader for political marketing. I’m definitely not that person, I just want to help out. I got an email from Groundwire asking me to re-apply to be a online coach, but they haven’t changed their requirements so I would just be rejected again. One thing I like about Leslie is she is pretty good about keeping cookies in the cookie jar on the dining room table. The other thing I like about Leslie is she orders delivery for dinner a lot. She’s not a good cook.
@Regmo
Hi there Regmo... That was nice considering how hot it was that Tunde was able to take the week off due to the excessive heat. And that Leslie was able to get an air-conditioner. I'm sure that overall it was certainly helpful. Staying hydrated during excessive heat is Very Important. So the information that you received there to do so was certainly a good suggestion. And its good that it finally was able to cool-off some.... Despite not being able to do much, its good that you still stayed on top of your devotional time. Using the TV as a distraction and coping mechanism can surely be helpful. Especially when a good show or program is on. What do you like to watch?... Hopefully you'll hear something soon regarding the political party and participation and being able to help out in some way. I'm sure it will be an even better distraction for you and also helpful in finding a "purpose and a focus". That is great that you are also able to find some positive qualities in Leslie. And find something to be grateful (in regards to the cookies and the delivery orders). Hopefully the heat wave is over for you. Maybe you will be able to find some time to reschedule your test as well. Thanks for checking in this week, for sharing and for keeping everyone up to date on how things are continuing to go.
My week went good really trying to understand me and how my mind works. Practicing gratitude mindfulness and positivity. Working at it everyday. Goal is to repeat repeat repeat don't give up. Mind over body or is it body over mind either way really trying. Week went well my son went back to school 6th grade now. Everything went well compared to previous years. He says no bullies this year which is awesome.
@bestMaple2045

@PoliteOcean
🌞 How has everyone been?.....
I have been kind of exhausted
🌻 How did the FIrst week of September go for you?....What was your MOST Favorite part of the week?
This week was hard for me as I am in early days of recovery
🌾 How many of you are taking part in the "GRATITUDE CHALLENGE? ...What did you find to be Most Grateful for this week?
Grateful for my cat
🌻What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" this week?... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
My highlights was feeling accomplished when I got cleaning done, feeling accomplished doing to do lists, my class, reading, listening to the radio, and eating.
my challenge of the week is starting over in sobriety, not once but twice, and it's saddens me because i don't like my sobriety date. Also I got so dehydrated that I was in the hospital but I am trying to stay hydrated now.
@charmingSky5972
Hello there Sky,
We are sorry to hear that your week was a challenging one for you. Hopefully the week ahead will show to be a better one.
Thats awesome that you have found something to be grateful for in your Cat. Pets are wonderful and prove to be so beneficial to our wellbeing.
Its also great that despite the challenges that you faced over the week that you were able to find the positives in feeling accomplished in all the many things you were able to do and complete for yourself! Even with starting over with your sobriety. Be proud of yourself that you are back on track with that, and just keep moving forwards. We are here to support you at 7cups.
Continue to stay hydrated! Thats so very important. Hopefully the hospital addressed that with you and gave you the resources that you needed upon your discharge to continue to do so. Again, we can also give you some tips and suggestions here as well and are here for you.
Thanks for checking in this week and keeping us up to date. Please let us know how things continue to go for you!
Feeling good today healthy lunch of a wrap and some vegetables, a walk my healthy eating class then volunteering today feeling good that I have helped someone
@bubblyPumpkin8003
Hey there Bubbly, that is awesome. Sounds like you made some really great and healthy choices! Those are alot of many great things that you are working on and striving for. Continue to keep up the great work and let us know how you are continuing to do in your goals.
Thanks for checking in and sharing this week!
Hello everyone, I joined a running/walking group at my school for the first time today. It was a bit intimidating. I was planning to walk the first time, but everyone else ran today, so I kind of half walked/half ran lol and was very out of shape. I felt kind of embarrassed and wish there was more "newbies" there. I've also been more active in the past so it's frustrating to feel like I've fallen to the back of the pack. Also the organizer lady was talking to me and I think she was trying to be encouraging but I felt kind of singled out and patronized for being slow but I also was too shy to know how to tell her without being rude. (kind of needed to vent I guess lol)
In other news I have been trying to decide whether to keep my current counselor or switch to a new one and that's been causing me to feel some stress as well.
@Daydreamer47
Hello there Daydreamer~
I think that is really great, (and brave) as well as encouraging to others that you decided to join this group. Despite that you felt it was intimidating and that you felt you were out of shape to do so. The bottom line is that you DID IT!... You set a path and goal for yourself to show up and get it done! And you did!....
I know it can be discouraging when we fall off track or course, and we get behind in our goals for ourselves. I've been there. But as long as we don't give up.. and keep trying! We will get there. And get back on track! Every little step we take adds up to bigger ones. One day you will do this same thing and look back and see how far you have come! You will get better and better with each try! So keep going. You've got this! And keep up the great work!
Also, as far as switching counselors, you have to weigh the pros and cons of it. Perhaps making a list of what pros would be to switch or what cons would be. And take a look at that. And maybe it will narrow down for you what the best choice and decision would be for you to make. Good luck!
And thank you so much for stopping by to check-in and share with us this week!... Please keep us updated on how you continue to do in the run/walk group and what you decided to do about the counselor. Take care~
