🌞 This past week went well... I was able to get back on track fully with my goals. Summer can tend to be a more challenging time for me with certain things, but so far, I'm moving along quite nicely.... I'm continuing to stay on track with meals, activity, and sleep went much better this week as well. And my "Hydration" goals were OFF THE CHAIN!... I think I drank the entire "Ocean"  this week ~ ;)

🌴 This past week its been incredibly warm here, and this weekend is even hotter!.... Its going to be a scorcher here for at least the next week!..... (Summer is coming in like wild-fire)!..... I continued to keep up with all my group fitness classes, and continuing to get out with furbaby "earlier" in the day to avoid the heat!....I finally got my Pool completely together and running as well, so I will definitely be in that this weekend.... I also managed to get my Vehicle situation dealt with and finally was able to trade in my older vehicle for a newer one this week. (With one week to spare)!~ So I'm glad that's all done & over with.

🌊 This weekend, since its going to be so hot, I did get up earlier and hit an early morning Zumba class.... then Intentions are to get in the pool today for more activity to finish up my step goal for the day....& hopefully just relax for a bit & enjoy. Then I also intend to get some last minute things (& cleaning) done around my home before the Summer hits next week.

🍍 JUST FOR FUN:... In anticipation of Summer, WHAT SONG instantly transports you to the Summertime season No matter when you hear it?! "WALKING ON SUNSHINE"~ By Katrina & the Waves!~

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went.  Stuart has been doing a lot of yelling. He's not having a genuine crisis, he's a grumpy old man.  Sunday I took a shower. It was an ordeal. Tuesday night my carpal tunnel syndrome was bothering me from holding my Obama phone. I can watch videos on social media with my new phone.  Leslie brings her grandchildren over here. It is so inappropriate. Wednesday I did my laundry.  Thursday morning at 3 a.m. Stuart had a crisis. He's okay now but it causes me emotional distress. I have a terrible time with insomnia. Later Thursday morning Leslie fed me Trader Joe's pre-packaged pancakes. It's terrible food for healthy people let alone for sick people. There was no peanut butter. It's very distressing. Later Thursday afternoon I went to the dermatologist. The hair growth medication I've been taking for the past year hasn't been working so he prescribed a different medication.  Thursday night I had a nightmare where Stuart was yelling.  Friday Tunde told me that he can only work two days a week for the next two weeks because his employer requires him to take time off.  I still want to move out from Leslie's as soon as feasible.

@Regmo

Hi Regmo~ That’s good that you focused on getting your shower in to start the week. Staying on top of our hygiene is very important for our overall wellbeing… Carpal Tunnel can be a tricky thing. Perhaps you can continue to focus on doing the things you know will help, & try to avoid things that don’t (or possibly even a different way to do them if feasible that is)… That is a little odd that Leslie would bring her grandchildren into a home where various boarders live. (Although I know there are so many other people in & out of the home, that I can’t remember if she lives there too or not)?! …. Insomnia can also be a challenge. Do you have any meds that could help? Maybe discuss it with your doctor?… Pre-packaged pancakes? 😳 Yikes! … What did your dermatologist prescribe you for your hair? Was just curious what you already took in comparison to what he gave you this time…. Is Tunde also working for someone else? Or is he apart of any agency that gets paid to help with your care? I guess that part confused me when you said “His employer”…. I can understand you still wanting to leave Leslie’s place & have a place away from her & the others. Perhaps you can take time to re-evaluate that plan and focus on a new date to make that happen? Thanks for checking in to share your week. And continue to keep us posted & updated on things.

@PoliteOcean

Hi, Ocean,

It's nice to hear that you're doing so well.

Hey EveryoneWelcome to the weekend~ How are things going for you today?  I'm having problems with young neighbors who moved in about a month ago.  They act like thugs.  I had to send an email to the leasing office again tonight to tell them there are about 7 people on my patio, having a lively, loud conversation after quiet hours started.  I could hear these people in my living room.  The leasing office must have called them because most of them started to go away.  I took my garbage out and this one woman was staring at me and gave me the evil eye.  She stared at me as I walked down the stairs.  The guys just turned their heads and pretended to be looking at other things.  I stared back at her a little while I locked my door, but then didn't look at her anymore.  It's not a good situation.

🌴 This is our "3rd" Check-in for the Month of JUNE~.....Summer is Officially less than a week away!~ WHAT is something that is on your "Summer Bucket-list" this year?  I'd like to go swimming in the university pool if I can get past my social anxiety.

🌊 Do you feel that your goals for yourself change during the summer months?... (If so, in what ways)?.... DO you find it easier or more challenging to stay on track in the Summertime?...I don't think they change for me.

🍍What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  My sleep is upside down and a mess.  I am trying to sleep when my body feel likes, but that has been during the day again.

I also had a very bad time in class.  The prof assigned an in class assignment, and I  was so overwhelmed.  I had a panic or anxiety attack.  I don't know which.  I could see words on the page I was reading, but they were all jumbled.  They didn't make sense.  I had to tell my prof that I needed help.  He knows I have a disability and has been so kind to me.  He helped me through the assignment.  He told me a couple times that I'm doing great. I thanked him, and almost started crying.  I held back the tears but after class I broke down.  I was crying so hard.  I was so shaken up.

Then I have my new neighbors.  I had to write an email to the leasing office to complain about them on two different days.  They have VERY loud parties, and lots of children of all different ages running in and out of their apartment while these parties are going on.  The apartment complex has a security team because it is so dangerous.  I stopped and talked to the security team, too.  Two of the women started talking to me on the first occassion this week.  They told me to tell them if they are too loud and they will tell "them" to quiet down.  I don't know who "them" is.  First I said thank you and I appreciate that, but then I stopped talking, just smiled, and went into my apartment.  I wrote to the leasing office that it is not my job to tell them when they are loud.  They are old enough to rent an apartment, so they have to learn society's rules and the apartment community rules and police themselves.  I imagined a night where I tell them they are too loud and they quiet down a little, but are still loud.  I don't want to be put in a situation to have to tell them a second time in one night that they are still too loud.  I am not their mother, or the security team or the leasing office.  That is not my job.  So tonight was the second time I complained to the leasing office this week.  And I'll keep complaining. It isn't a good situation, and I told the leasing office that.

I'm still looking for a job.  I haven't received any calls yet.

Hey there Tree~ Thank you so much as always for your kindness!

Oh no! So sorry to hear that you are having issues with your younger neighbors. I really dislike that as I have been there myself in the past and it’s not the best experience. And Noisy ones can also be the worst. I think it’s great the leading office at least seemed to step in and help! Sometimes you just never know how that will go. (I myself am a “caller”)! I like my peace & quiet too! And you shouldn’t have to be subjected to a bunch of nonsense after-hours. Please continue to stay safe. And never fear calling for your safety or standing up for your tenant rights.

I can totally understand social anxieties… Believe it or not, I don’t like huge crowds. I deal with it when I have to but my tolerance comes & goes in waves….. otherwise I might turn into what they call a “hermit” lol… but I don’t typically like being around a mass of people… With that being said I totally hope for you that you are able to make a way for yourself around those anxieties and can manage to get to the university pool! It seems like you would have a wonderful time. Not to mention an excellent way to get in a little activity for yourself in these warmer months! Perhaps you could give it a go, or even ask if there are days that are “less populated”? And try to go those days? Keep us posted on what you decide to do!

Oh I love that song! (A lovely day)~ Yes I agree that makes me think of a hot summer day as well. I picture & reminisce growing up in the city & sitting out on the rooftop of our apartment as the sun goes down when I hear it. Great choice 👍🏼

I can understand trying to get that sleep in! And it being back and forth. I’m like you, if I feel tired, and can get it in, I will do that! Even if it means in the day time. Sometimes we have to either go with the flow of that, or at least find some ways to tweak what we do until things come together.

I think it’s great that you have such a wonderful professor that is willing to help and work with you. When it comes down to it, that’s the main thing. Even if you get upset, or things seem jumbled or upsetting in the moment, just continue to remind yourself that he’s there for you. And will to help see you through the course!

I do hope that things start to improve with the apartment situation. You are EXACTLY right in everything that you said. And it isn’t your job to “police” the situation. And hopefully the office continues to step up & help if & when needed until you are able to find a better place for yourself. And as well, Im still sending you best wishes on your continued job search. 🙏🏼

Please continue to keep us updated on how everything is going for you. And as always thank you for checking in to share your week with us.

☀️ Things are going bad today.

🌴Making real s'mores is on my summer bucket list.

🌊 I find the goals I set for myself in the summer aren't any more or less challenging than other seasons, just different.

🍍Struggles this week are dealing with the traps I've made for myself in my own mind. Taking full responsibility for things that aren't my fault is ...well there's no words to describe it. I'm not sure how I worked through the challenges of this because it is a cold and broken surprise to me when I pull through, that I'm even still alive.

@communicativePond1728

We’re sorry to hear that you seem to be struggling , and that you had a bad day.

On a positive note you appear to be doing what you can to push through the struggles and seem to be accepting of your situations for what they are at the moment…

Making summer S’mores sounds like a great & fun place to start in helping to shift your mindset a bit. And to focus on something you enjoy.

 Hopefully for you that you find things start to improve wherever needed going forwards…. Thanks for checking in and sharing with everyone. Please continue to keep us updated.

@PoliteOcean

hey! 😊 things are going okay for me today. i have been sick for the past week, which kind of threw me off of my fitness and work routine. So i am hoping to be able to get back on track soon.

Something on my summer bucket list this year is just truly savoring each moment. I am currently in the middle of a big change, and will be moving to a different continent starting in August. So before that, I would just like to really enjoy my last few weeks here and then be open towards new experiences.

I find it harder to stay on track in the summertime, mostly because in the summer i am usually around family or my partner, and for some reason i always feel ashamed for working out. it makes me feel like i am trying to impress them, even though i am just doing it for myself hahah !!

A song that always transports me to summertime is the soundtrack of the movie "call me by your name" - ultimate summer vibes!

Struggles of the past 7 days: sickness, no social life, kind of getting into a funk because i can not stick to my routine (or its harder to when youre home 24/7)

Highlights of the past 7 days: my brother visited me for a few days right before my health declined and that was really nice. And although being sick was annoying, I also truly needed some rest, also mentally.

@dynamicHemlock1736

Hey there Hemlock~

That’s good that things are going ok for you despite not feeling well. I know when we don’t feel our best it makes it challenging to try to stay on track & keep up with healthy routines. Hopefully you will get back to where you need to be very soon!

Ahhh… savoring the moment~ it definitely sounds like you have alot of change coming up for yourself! So I can understand that response! Wow, a whole different continent?! … We wish you all the best on your move! How exciting for you.

We’re sorry to hear that summer makes it more of a challenge to stay on track. But never feel ashamed or embarrassed for wanting to be a healthier version of yourself! And keep up the great work in all the strides & efforts that you take to do that!

We’re also sorry to hear that you’ve been struggling due to your current circumstances…. And being in a “funk” over it all definitely doesn’t help. I’ve been there and can certainly understand that. But also remember that it’s important to take care of yourself in times of illness. And follow your body’s lead. …..For me personally if I wanted to get in a little activity while not feeling my best or stuck in doors, I find some good “chair workouts” on YouTube! You might be able to find something that resonates with you like stretching, or weights from the chair, or even low-key cardio from the chair. There’s many options to move while also taking it easy on yourself :)

How nice that you got to spend time with your brother. It’s really wonderful that he came to visit you. Hopefully his visit helped make you feel better in some way!

Amd hopefully you will also continue to start feeling better. We are here to support you. And it was really great to have you stop by & check in with us this week! Thank you so much for sharing & please continue to keep us updated on how you’re doing & how things go with your new move!
