🍁 This past week went went well here.....The week went by pretty quickly as we got prepared for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Last weekend was so Beautiful, sunny, and mild, that We spent the weekend getting out and about and enjoying the weather, as well as some "early Christmas Festivals"..... As the week began, I continued to focus on getting in good Sleep, getting in hydration, and keeping up with Workouts/Activity. I feel my body is really starting to acclimate to going to bed earlier (which is something I've worked on for awhile). And I find that I'm starting to even adapt to that ritual on the weekends as well, which has been helping in the way I feel physically.
🌻 Due to the Holiday, Group Fitness classes were limited for part of the week. So I focused on getting in the classes that I could for the first half, while forcing myself to pull it together for the last half of the week and finding activity that I could incorporate on my own.... I personally like to be guided in my workouts which is why I've always loved Group Fitness. And why I love to help motivate others as well......But I managed to pull it together and get in a few quick workouts... However, I did find that I was much more relaxed mentally knowing that I didn't have an actual "schedule" of things to keep up with.
🍁 We then spent the Thanksgiving Holiday at my Moms which was all really nice to just spend time with family. The Food ALL amazing.... and We even watched "The Grinch" (the animated 2018 version). Which is actually a really Cute and funny Christmas movie…(So if you haven't watched it, give it a try)!....This weekend has turned Chillier again, but its all good. We got out for some "Black Friday" Shopping, & I managed to buy a "few" gifts so far.... Saturday's intentions will be to do a little more shopping….then Saturday Night go checkout a Christmas Lights Festival....... Then prepare for the New week ahead.
@PoliteOcean yep I know you like to keep busy with your health. But sometimes you should probably schedule in some relaxing days in between ❤ I'm glad you had a great thanksgiving ❤ and yaaaaaay! Sleep. My favourite winter sport is extreme hibernation 😁 so yaaay! And wait have you only just started your Xmas shopping😮😮😮😮 I did not start in september 👀👀
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
Happy belated Thanksgiving!
🍁Hey everyone~ How are you doing today?... I'm doing good today.
🌽This is our "Last" Check-in for the Month of "NOVEMBER".....How do you feel this month went for you overall?….In reflecting back, What is ONE or The MOST Positive Highlight about this past month for you. It was stressful. I was switched to a new library for cross-training. Then I got covid. Then all chaos broke loose. I'm feeling almost completely better, and was cleared to go back to work. I can finally relax until sunday night when my shift starts.
🌻 If you celebrated Thanksgiving this week, what was the BEST part of the day for you?! ….If you didn’t celebrate this holiday, then what was the BEST part of this “week” for you?! I was finally able to relax after being cleared to work. My kitty, Chloe, and I just chilled.
🌾JUST FOR FUN: (In Continuing with the Thanksgiving/Cups-Giving Holiday Fun)..... WOULD YOU RATHER: "Give a Turkey a Bath".....OR...."Mash a Bathtub-Full of Potatoes by Hand"?! give a turkey a bath
🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?! see my answers to questions above
🌽What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~
@purpleTree4652 happy belated thanksgiving to you and chloe ❤❤ I'm so glad your feeling ok now ❤ gives you a giant festive tiny hug ❤
@purpleTree4652
Hey there~ Thank you so much for the Thanksgiving well wishes and Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you (and Chloe) as well! :)
How wonderful that you're doing good and finally feeling better this week.... And even better for you that you are cleared to go back to work. I know the thought of not being there was stressing you. But its good that you were able to have the time off that you needed to recover physically. And now you can go back and start the week ahead off on the right foot and feeling refreshed.
And how lovely for you that both you and Chloe were able to relax together over the past week and for the holiday. (I too enjoyed alot of snuggle time with my furbaby this past week as well). It always feels good. (And he helped me to stay warm this past week too with the colder weather)! lol
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are coming along for you and how you're doing and feeling. Please continue to keep us up to date on how things are going for you once getting back to work!

🍁Hey everyone~ How are you doing today?...
Not good to be honest, I have a lot of worries on my mind...
🌽This is our "Last" Check-in for the Month of "NOVEMBER".....How do you feel this month went for you overall?….In reflecting back, What is ONE or The MOST Positive Highlight about this past month for you.
It's been OK overall, it's just that autumn tends to be a very busy season. One positive highlight I would say....hmm...I finally cleaned a large portion of the house, so that makes me feel a bit better, even though that may sound like such a small thing.
🌻 If you celebrated Thanksgiving this week, what was the BEST part of the day for you?! ….If you didn’t celebrate this holiday, then what was the BEST part of this “week” for you?!
The best part of this week has been that my significant other who lives 2 hours away visited me and came to visit for a while. I am quite happy about that.
🌾JUST FOR FUN: (In Continuing with the Thanksgiving/Cups-Giving Holiday Fun)..... WOULD YOU RATHER: "Give a Turkey a Bath".....OR...."Mash a Bathtub-Full of Potatoes by Hand"?!
Mash a bathtub full of potatoes by hand sounds yummy, but bathing a cute lil turkey sounds fun!
🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
I tend to list struggles before highlights, because I like to end on a positive note, so here we go---
Struggles: I was sick all last week along with the little one, so I missed out of work. Now, my boss wants to "talk" to me about when the last day of my temp contract is. The work situation is a bit more than just that, it's been a terror working there, so in a bittersweet way, I will be somewhat realized if they terminate my contract so my recruiter can find me a different job...
However, the problem is I need to pay rent and I need a job ASAP that will help with the bills.
I am also worried about son... Preschool age and started to pee himself randomly. He was potty trained, but it's backtracked a bit...he also went from being mellow, to being more aggressive in school and starting fights. I notice when he's not in speech therapy, he's more aggressive ... He has trouble communicating.
Apart from that, I'm worried about court... I have two traffic tickets, and did the requirements for only ONE made thought I completed both. I am having trouble being able to make it to the child safety class, as it is only once a month on a Sunday, no children allowed (I'm a solo parent), plus cash only... I have no transportation,was homeless at one point, unemployed at one point, and did not really have anyone to watch little one, so it's been hard. I'm worried that if I go to court, they may not be very empathetic...
Lastly, I'm worried that I'm not enough. I worry that I can't support my son well. I worry about ending up homeless again. I worry that it will be hard to supply food. I'm worried that I can't do enough for my significant other or that I might end up asking for too much help and can never repay the favour... I worry that with the traffic ticket, if I do one wrong thing, I could end up in jail and lose my son again (I lost temporary custody after calling the cops on my physically abusive ex-fiance/my son's father who nearly deleted me from this world).
I fear I am useless. I fear I am incapable... I fear I am not enough..
Highlights: My son starting reading at an early age and I'm glad he's continually interested in learning! I'm proud of him. I heard him say "I love you" to me more recently, which feels nice. My physically/verbally abusive parents NEVER said I love you growing up, it wasn't until my siblings and I were adults that they would hug us or say "I love you"... It feels fake.
My significant other is currently here with me and I love him with all my heart. 🖤
I'm applying for new jobs, as I do not want to wait for my recruiter.
If worse comes to worse, my significant other will support me (though I wish I could support them too!). My partner is extremely well-off, and I hate asking for help partially for that reason, and because I'm stubborn and want to figure it out on my own.
I'm also looking to leave this wretched city after my 1-yr lease is up and finally be free!
🌽What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~
I wish I could do better in life... I just feel stuck in a perpetual cycle of never really getting out of the hole I dig... Once I overcome one challenge, another one comes knocking on my door right away. I wish I could finally catch a break. I wish I lived healthier and had more muscle or more weight. I wish I was financially stable to take care of son and significant other. I wish I had some close/really good friends where the feelings are mutual and it's a healthy bond. I wish I didn't do vices anymore. I wish I know WTF I want to do with my life lol. I think I know, but I don't really know if it will work out... I fear the risks but... I will thread safely and with caution. I want to turn my life around and stop feeling so sad....
@ImpudentIncognito
Hey there~
Its good that despite having had a lot of worries on your mind recently, that you found November to be Ok for you overall. I think its also good that you were able to see something positive, in being able to get a large portion of your house cleaned! (Isn't that a great feeling)?!! I feel that being able to control some of those things in our " personal space" and our "lives" helps to free up some cluttered areas. And gives us more time and freedom to put towards other things in our lives that may need more focus.
How awesome for you that your S.O. was able to come and visit with you! I'm sure it made you feel good. And how lovely that you were both able to connect with each other in person.
We are sorry to hear that you weren't feeling the greatest and had to miss work. And can definitely see that you have had many various challenges and stressors to deal with between your job, needing money, being a single parent, providing for your child, and personal fears that you have been carrying. It sounds like the work part of it for you has been at the top of your list of stressors?!... Even though you may need to work to provide for yourself and your child and pay bills, it can be just as stressful trying to hold onto a job that is not in alignment with you personally....( One that causes or adds more stress).... Sounds like it might just be a blessing if your recruiter can just find you something different? .... As for your son, I wonder if they could possibly increase his Speech therapy appt's if you find that he's being more aggressive with the lack of them? .....Maybe that could help him more? Perhaps you could talk to the speech therapist about that? Or they can give you some other alternatives?
I think that despite the many various struggles that you are feeling and dealing with, that its a great thing that you can look above them to see the highlights in your life. Being able to see your son grow and flourish is amazing! And to hear the words 'I love you' come from that tiny little human is one of the best feelings in the world!.... And having a supportive S.O. by your side can also help you through those feelings of struggle and fear. Sometimes we just need to have that person and shoulder to lean on. And its a great feeling! And having that extra help can help in relieving you of added stress in knowing that they are there for you. And when the time is right, and the time comes, you can support them back just as well. Someone in the relationship is ALWAYS going to make more than the other. It doesn't have to be about being "even". But just simply being there for each other and supporting one another the best you can.
I also think its awesome that you are being proactive as well in looking for and applying for jobs on your own! While also having help in the background with your recruiter. I think that could be half the battle won there. And good luck to you on finally being Free of your lease! Look forwards to that as a Fresh Start! For you, your child, and your S.O. ! Allow yourself to be happy and enjoy the highlights!
And remember that we are here for you at 7cups to help support you.
Thank you again for checking in this week and sharing with us. And letting us know how you are doing and how things are continuing to go. Please keep us updated on how things are going for you.
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Sunday I spoke with my sister Kathryn on the phone for 30 minutes. I also put Argan oil on my feet. I continued to read my commentary on Exodus, art history book, and poetry book. Now with Amanda gone I can read my poetry book at home which I couldn't do before. I'm extremely happy about that. 😊😊😊. Monday morning Alan told me he was going to be leaving Thursday night and Leslie and Sifa wanted me to move into Stuart's bedroom. There is no way that is going to happen. Stuart defecates on the floor of his bedroom, defecates in the hallway, defecates in his bed, and leaves fece stains on the toilet and bathroom sink. Monday afternoon I called to makes an appointment to see an apartment Tuesday afternoon. I went there and my contact person never showed up. I called to reschedule and then they didn't show up on Wednesday. It was only on Friday night that Sifa told me he wanted me to move into Stuart's bedroom. What I was really worried about all week was Leslie or Sifa spontaneously moving my possessions into Stuart's bedroom against my permission. They can't do that, that's illegal. I'm writing this early Saturday morning. Later today I'm going to go to the library and research potential places to live. If I make an appointment to see a place, I can't go to the library or go for a walk that day. For this upcoming week I have a blood test on Tuesday. Living with Leslie has harmed me greatly. I don't know what in the world God thinks he's doing. Women on social media continue to ask me for money. I don't get angry anymore, I just block them.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo~ How nice that you were able to spend some time talking with your sister. Hopefully you enjoyed your 30 minute conversation with her. I think its great that you have been keeping connections with "both" your siblings recently. Thats good that you are continuing to keep up with your reading and that you can enjoy it more in peace. If Alan is leaving, why does Leslie and Sifa want you to move into Stuarts room? What would be the purpose in doing that? You should have the right to stay where you want. I can certainly understand your concern with your stuff being moved and placed somewhere else "without" your permission! Hopefully for you it doesn't come to that or get that far. I think its even better that you are staying proactive with looking into possibly finding your own place. Keep up the great work and Hopefully your search will start to yield some positive results for you soon! How are things going with your current care provider? How is the situation going with his vehicle? Hopefully that has been resolved. Thank you for checking in this week and sharing and letting us know how things are continuing to go. Please continue to keep us updated on things. And your continued apt. search. Good Luck!
@PoliteOcean My caretaker Chuck is a terrible driver and a ding bat 🦇 but he likes me and goes out of his way for me. He's very punctual which is extremely important to me. I was very happy with my lifestyle now that Amanda and Dennis are gone. I wanted to move out eventually but don't feel like I'm ready for it financially. Leslie and Sifa want to move in because there is no one to cook meals for me and Stuart and Stuart needs a lot of attention. Leslie's adult son Tai lives in the back house where Amanda used to live. Leslie and Sifa should tell him to move out so they can live there. Leslie has been very good about feeding me breakfast on time on the weekends so that makes me happy.
🍁Hey everyone~ How are you doing today?...
Very well! My physical pain is unfortunately fairly high lately, but there are also so many things that are good. I did read a horribly sad part of my book earlier yesterday and had negative dreams afterwards, but today has been beautiful and snowy and I am starting to feel a bit better about it all. I don't read fiction often because it has such a strong impact on me!
🌽This is our "Last" Check-in for the Month of "NOVEMBER".....How do you feel this month went for you overall?….In reflecting back, What is ONE or The MOST Positive Highlight about this past month for you.
This was a great month. We saw our family a few times, I have been working on my main project during my best work hours every day at work, and I finished working on my 2024 plan! Do you have 2024 plans/goals yet, Ocean?
🌻 If you celebrated Thanksgiving this week, what was the BEST part of the day for you?! ….If you didn’t celebrate this holiday, then what was the BEST part of this “week” for you?!
The best part of the week here was a meeting with my favorite supervisor. Of all the smart women I get to work with, she is the one that is also the most enjoyable to talk with. I hope to become more like her as we work together. I have been working on optimism the last two years, so I hope I am already on the way!
🍁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
I am still so busy, so during the times when I feel like I cannot possibly keep on my timelines at work, I try to take a few minutes to remember how much I enjoy my work. I have always loved medical research, and I am so lucky to be able to do it for a living. This activity of trying to refocus on how doing the work feels in the moment vs. thinking about the larger timelines that all need to be met is so challenging, but I am working on getting better at it!
@nordurnStar
Hey there Star~ Thats great for you that things are going very well (despite the pain that you've been in lately). I think its wonderful that you are continuing to see the "good" things. And how lovely that despite the results that your book brought, that you were able to enjoy a beautiful snowy day! That sounds so lovely! I miss the snow greatly this time of year.
How awesome for you that November proved to be a great month for you. And that you were able to see family, work on your project, and finished working on your New year plan! Amazing! Keep up the great work that you are doing!.... (as far as your question, I've learned for me, to try to keep my goals small and work on them a little bit over time...even though my mind and thoughts wander off faaaarrr ahead! But I don't like to get "too" far ahead of myself)... So right now I'm focusing on December goals ;)
Oh how lovely for you that you are also able to work with someone that you admire and enjoy working with! Those always make for the best times at work. And helps in definitely keeping a more positive work environment. I think its also awesome that you are working on your optimism. (I can personally relate to that one myself). Its not always easy, but all we can do is keep trying! Keep up the great work there!
I guess I didn't realize that your work involved "medical" research?! (I'm not sure if you mentioned that part of it before)...But How very interesting, (as I'm a Nurse)..... That is definitely a fortunate & amazing work position that you have! And how wonderful that you enjoy the position as much as you do! Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing there as well and as you say, (getting better at it)!
We hope that your pain is starting to lessen, and that you start to feel better soon! Thank you for checking in this week and sharing... And for letting us know how you are doing and how things are continuing to go for you. Please continue to keep us updated!
@PoliteOcean
Yes, I am lucky enough to work as a medical researcher here in my country! I have always wanted to do this kind of work -- that's why I practised English when I was a child! I could never do what nurses are capable of, though. I admire bedside workers very much.
