At times it happens that if there are important unresolved issues I find it hard to fall asleep. Watching something funny and listening to a meditation usually helps.

Does anxiety give you trouble relaxing and falling asleep ?
I used to have a big problem of waking in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep due to overwhelming thoughts. It still happens occasionally. But it is much better.
What are some things you do before laying down to relax yourself before sleeping ?
Leaves on a stream. Or sharing my worries with someone like a listener.
@pamharley003 yes anixety does keep me awake at night I was sexually raped sexually assaulted I get a lot of bad things from my dad it’s not okay he blames me says it’s ur fault you went through that your dusky you went out at midnight you asked for it from a black guy
@dhabib
I am so sorry that happened to you and I can sense the reason for the much anxiety your have occured
@pamharley003 I have anixety about my dad he confronts scares me it’s so disturbing every night everyday weekends he watches sexual porn
@pamharley003 it’s not okay it’s very wrong I’m distancing separating from my dad he’s unkind he breath his mouth stinks he hasn’t brushed his teeth in days his urine is digusting the words he says to me is not okay calling me an awful person evil creature he makes my
head itch he doesn’t care of himself he invites his friend over a young man Mexican he has two kids and a girlfriend she’s a *** they ask for money in favor he makes less money he can’t even support his kids family it’s in food they fight a lot they lived with me for a year
@dhabib I have faced assault multiple times. I know how you feel. The trauma doesn't go away fully even after years and years and you can get flashbacks and bad dreams and things like that... but from my experience things do get better with compassion and efforts .
Please don't believe your dad. He does not have understanding of the gravity of this matter. Victim blaming is an erroneous idea. Your dress choices, your religion or lack of one, your mental health, your color or beauty, none of it is a justification for someone violating your consent. Never feel ashamed of what happened to you. It was not your fault. The perpetrators of this crime are the ones who deserve all the shame.
One tends to wonder 'Why me?' .. the thing is bad things can happen to anyone ... that's how life is... don't doubt your worth as a result of this.
@Creamyyy I have trauma with my dad been physically abused by him threatened he has the right kick me out of the house I’m under disability he’s giving a serious consequence last chance it’s really bad
@Creamyyy no it’s not my fault my dad blames me for being sexually assaulted By a black guy
it he says it’s mine my fault my dad is an ***
@dhabib can't you contact the police in your region?
@Creamyyy yes I have he got mad at me my
dad did I have in the past for abuse
@Creamyyy my dad I can’t change he can’t change me he said he will not change anything about me his mission. To make me miserable vulnerable and irritated that’s what he does I have had trauma different ways many ways it’s being in the hospital
today for the occurring incident happened to me he punched me in the nose it was *** and slapped me
i had abuse in the past from him
he’s nasty he watches continued sex and sexual porn he’s so awful retired a pervert
@pamharley003 Thanks for this
I thinking taking the pressure off myself helps. Realising I'm not responsible for fixing all the problems I'm aware of or achieving everything I dream of... just giving yourself that compassion... because health comes first... without good health you can't deliver anything, you can't give anything to anyone either... so being hard on yourself is just futile.

Yes, anxiety does sometimes make it hard for me to relax and fall asleep—especially when my mind feels busy or overstimulated from the day. On those nights, I try to be gentle with myself instead of forcing sleep.
To help myself unwind, I usually have a simple bedtime routine. I dim the lights, stay away from screens for a while, and do something soothing—like reading a few pages of a book, listening to soft music, or doing a bit of light stretching or breathing exercises. Sometimes I just take a moment to reflect on a few things I’m grateful for, which helps shift my focus from what’s worrying me to what’s grounding me. It’s not always perfect, but these little practices bring me a sense of calm that makes sleep more accessible.
@pamharley003 I've been living with anxiety now forever, I've has so many bad absolutely terrible nights, but I made it through them all. I had it where I only slept 4 hours a night for months but I've always recovered. One thing that helped was simply standing for a half to full hour before bed. Its passively tiring so I'd get tired and be able to sleep, or giving up trying to sleep and just laying in the dark watching a comedy, eventually I relaxed enough to sleep. I always said to myself, if you can sleep just one hour, you'll make it through to a period when I'll be able to relax and sleep fully. As I got older, I've found I just physically need sleep bad enough that even if I wanted to stay up anxious all night I can't. Even 6 hours of rest is better than none, and you'll get by.
