To feel content I need time for myself to do self care things I like such as yoga, qigong, meditation, listening to motivating talks on youtube, coming here and of course enough time in nature. Being outside in nature is very healing to me.
@amiablePeace77
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO FEEL CONTENT?… I need a “well-rounded mix” of things to feel content physically, mentally & emotionally. (This includes Family, Faith, Friendships & Socialization, as well as time for Self-care in my day which includes a variety of things I enjoy. Such as Group Fitness classes, being outdoors, shopping etc…)… & of course Traveling every so often to break-up daily & weekly monotony, to renew, regroup, & refresh my mind & spirit.
@amiablePeace77 What do you need to feel content?
The simplest answer is not to build up unrealistic expectations beyond what is humanly possible. Simple living breeds contentment. Avoiding the more for me attitude and tough luck everyone else. That is a sure way to suffering. Compassion is a natural part of our make up. Look how mothers instinctively care for their children. They sacrifice so their kids may flourish.
@soulsings
It is hard or almost impossible to feel okay, feel happy when everyone else is suffering. The ego trip just leads to more suffering in my view.
@amiablePeace77 I can feel happiness sometimes but then I want to share it somehow with others at least in my mind, create that intention. And act in ways to give joy to others.
The alleviation of the harms of present societal, political, and economic conditions locally and worldwide and the provision of all which it refuses to provide, including basic needs, time from constantly working to have genuine human connections, meaningful experiences, the ability to live life at one's own pace and abilities, and living sustainably and in ecological harmony with other humans and the world around us. Genuine hope for a better future.
World peace would be nice too. Global denuclearization. International cooperation on pandemics and protecting human rights. Working together to meaningfully stop climate collapse, including giving Indigenous peoples their land back (as they have been internationally recognized as the best stewards of their respective ecosystems, ensuring biodiversity, even with growing populations). The global agreement that putting profit over people is omnicidal.
Preventing genocide from ever happening in the first place, but also those already in progress from completing itself and history being revised such that those who lived through it are collectively gaslit and future generations are taught the revisionist version of history - preventing this would be preferable. Genocide and contentment are incompatible.
Plenty could be done to bring genuine, long-term contentment.
@Zeraphim
You made some good and valid points. We need to work together as a community of this planet and not just focus on what's around us. There is still a lot to do and to change in this world. I’m glad that I can come here and do at least a bit to help.
@amiablePeace77 You've been consistently kind, thoughtful, and compassionate. You give me hope, so thank you 😊
@amiablePeace77
Probably just time, I feel like everyone around me is pressuring me to rush into things and I get overwhelmed so easily. Like I feel like I could do great things if I was just given the time to achieve it at my own pace.
@JollyRacher
It must take a lot of strength to resist this pressure and do what feels right - walking at your own pace. I hope people around you will come to this understanding and see what potential you might be able to offer.
@JollyRacher hugs you tightly ❤❤
I need Emotions to feel content.
Because of my anhedonia I also can't feel: Joy, Love, Pride, Confidence, Gratitude, Hope and 90 others.
@Gettingbettertoday
It must be difficult not being able to experience all these feelings. I hope one day soon science will find something that can help.
@Gettingbettertoday hugs you tightly ❤
I feel content, because I know that I am doing everything in my power to continue to grow. I also feel content, because I am not surrounded by toxic people wanting their own way of things and creating senseless issues. I feel content, because I am at a stage of my life that you have 3 chances, if you mess each up then that is it, and I say this due to the fact that nowadays there are people in this world that get too comfortable with disrespecting boundaries. Some more reasons why I feel content is because I am loved, supported and recognized for who I truly am not what others' have spun me out to be.
@amiablePeace77
What do you need to feel content? To feel content, I need to take long hikes until im exhausted, then come home to a hot-cold shower, then get a glass of room temp water, and have a lot of fruit(mangoes especially).

to feel content, I need some time alone where I can unwind and recharge and do things I enjoy like going for a morning walk on a nice day, reading a book, watching TV, putting on a face mask or paint my nails, and journaling.
