Would you rather travel into the past or into the future?

What would you change if you could?

As much as I love a lot of the aspects of the past especially the early modern history era basically the era of 1500 to 1800, I am so definitely forward-looking so for me I would definitely have to go to the future. I want to explore space I want to go explore new planets, I want to be not just an earth-based biologist but a xenobiologist. I would love to study the Botany of a new place.

And maybe in the future they will have found a way to control chronic pain and depression and anxiety

@Paisleykaat

Studying the biology and life processes of alien species must be tremendously exciting! I would love to see ways to control/heal depression, anxiety and chronic pain too!

@amiablePeace77 interestingly, I just answered another thread with an answer 'past future' and now I see this! Mysterious 🤔

Well, I feel that if we wanna change either, the other gets affected too, and so does our present.

So, feeling a need to change either translates to 'we do want a change in our present'

So the question is this, What do you want to change about your present?

Hi Ami:

I would definitely go into the past - where I was healthy and happy. There is nothing good for me in the future.

@UberRuminator

It's hard when we see nothing good in the future and can be difficult to create something that gives us hope again but I believe it's always worth to try. I hope there will be many more blessings for you than you expect right now.

Would you rather travel into the past or into the future?

Definitely the future. I would love to live long enough to see a rational world in which there is no longer any bigotry.

What would you change if you could?

I would want to be in really good shape and look good. I've always been overweight and I would love to look really good.

@Menoeceus

It would be a wonderful world where everyone is tolerant towards other people, no stigma just inclusiveness.

This is the link to the healthy living community which has great information about exercises etc. I hope it will help you to get in the shape you want to be https://www.7cups.com/home/healthyliving/

I would definitely travel to the past, just to see how my parents were during their younger days. They grew up in the same small town in their native country. It's like a rom-com film I would want to watch. My mom was a shy and serious girl while my dad was the most popular guy and rebel. It would be interesting.

But if I were to change something, it would also be in the past, when I was 11-12 years. If I didn't develop a lot of these negative things toward myself, I would had a lot more hope and love for my life. Even though I'm still here today, it just took me so long to finally reach out and find support.

@compassionateOak202

I would have wished for you that you received support earlier but what counts now is that you did reach out and I hope things will improve in your life!

Seems your parents accomplish each other 😊

Such a great question!

To travel into the past, would mean I would have to relive the trauma(s). Some would argue "But you can change that!" but to change that would change who and what and where I am today. That would remove my spouse, grandkids, WInston (my dog), and my home. I think the value of them is greater.

Travel to the future? If I can get the winning lottery numbers and return to the current. :)
I would enjoy the opportunity but then I would need to return back to present like I never left. The older you get the more you'll understand what is really important (I am still learning this).

So I would have to say, neither

Interesting points! I think the present is still the best time too, a time we have been through challenges and also a time we can learn helpful things to create a good future.

I suppose it would depend on the day and when I'm asked that question....

I guess at times it would nice to go back in the past, see long lost relatives again, re-live some great childhood moments, maybe even change a few things, or even "Re-do" a few things~....

However, future (or at least the "Present Future", like maybe within a Year or less), wouldn't be too bad either~

The day and the mood you are in can surely make a difference whether it's the past or the future.

@amiablePeace77. I would travel to the future. I would like to see all of the future scientific discoveries of the future. Will they make it to Mars? Will they find life on other planets? Plus all of the discoveries that I can’t even imagine!

I would travel to the future to see myself and where I am. If I don't like where I am , I go back to the present and make sure I don't make mistakes that won't let me have a good future.

I wish we all could do it but for now we can only rely on what we learned like if I don't learn to deal with XXX I will not feel good in the future.
