Mindfulness Check-In November 30, 2023
@amiablePeace77
Last year that definitely would have been my Mom & my Faith!
This year was a little different so I’d probably say Finding a different workout that I’ve come to enjoy that’s kept me motivated. I’m not a morning person by any means (I even worked the night shift for many years to avoid getting up early mornings)! …..But these morning workouts have definitely been motivating me over this past year to just “Get it done,over with and out of the way for the day”! ✅
@PoliteOcean
I can relate very well with what you said about morning workouts, I do them too. It gives a sense of accomplishment early in the day 😀
@amiablePeace77
Yesss! Definitely agree!

Festive Hugs back! And Happy December! 🎄
I would say my mum - and sadly, not in a good way.
Me and her have always had, I believed, a good relationship. Turns out there was a lot of sneeky toxic behaviours (on both sides) that i wasnt aware of. I had a troubled childhood where I wasn't really supported emotionally, however, I buried alot of that resentment deep deep down.
This past year, I've been involved in life coaching and a few counselling. Enough to make me realise that I needed to start opening up about how I'm feeling. It's an upward struggle but I'll get there.
So anyway, I opened up to my mum about all the things about my childhood that has affected me as an adult. She's not even acknowledged it. She went to my dad and got him to message me, and pretty much told me off like a child for hurting my mums feelings for claiming she was the reason for an unhappy childhood.
I will always apologise if I've hurt someone's feelings. Sadly I'm not getting an apology from her. I honestly feel like I should just keep my mouth shut like I always had because it never ends well and I end up feeling 10x worse.
@amicableSkies5335 oh that's not good😞 you had every right to speak up, and she should have been more understanding towards your pain and feelings. It's a heart breaking situation that you've been left with. Gives you a giant festive tiny hug ❤ squeezes you tightly ❤ we are all here for you ok? ❤
Thankyou so much for your lovely words. I really appreciate it :) xx
@amicableSkies5335
I am so sorry that your childhood was complicated and that your wounds have not healed yet, but hope that with the help of life coaching and counselling things will improve so that you can free yourself from your childhood burden. It is sad that your mother is not ready to acknowledge things that happened and leave you feel unheard and again treated like a child. This hurts. Sometimes people ignore happenings because of ignorance but also because they refuse self-reflection since it could force them to acknowledge what they do not want to see. There can me many reasons. I hope you will find ways to accept her reaction without letting it hurt you more in future. Sadly, we can't always get what would make healing easier and pushing it can cause more conflict inside.
@amiablePeace77 someone named Liz... we're sadly not friends anymore though...
@JustCharlie1332 aww sorry sweetie. You always have us ❤ gives you a giant festive tiny hug ❤❤
@amiablePeace77
Yeah, probably trauma. It's a pretty intense catalyst.
@communicativePond1728 hugs you tightly ❤
@communicativePond1728
It can be very painful and difficult to live with trauma. I hope coming here and learning about mindfulness techniques like grounding helps you to be present every day and not focus on the rough memories you have.
@amiablePeace77
I'm scared other people will reject me for it, or use it against me somehow.
@communicativePond1728
It can help to join others who had to go through trauma as well. Please check for discussion link under resources in the trauma support https://www.7cups.com/forum/trauma/
@amiablePeace77 🤔🤔🤔 in a good way 7 cups family ❤❤
@Tinywhisper11 oh😞 I'm sorry
@Tinywhisper11 @amiablePeace77 I'm really sorry😞
Losing my best friend of 8 years thanks to a new toxic relationship. She said some things that wounded me deeply when I only was trying to be her friend.
@neatBlueberry5213
I can only imagine how lost you felt when your best friend left you because of she could not see that you just wanted to help her. Is there any way that you explain it to her in a call or letter?
@neatBlueberry5213
Sending you virtual hugs!
