What is something about yourself that mindfulness helped you to accept?
Mindfulness has helped me calm down and work on my meditation together. It has helped me calmly work on things in a calm manner not flying off the handle like I use to
@pamharley003 that's awsome ❤❤ well done ❤
With mindfulness in mind, something I have learned about myself is that although being an empathetic person. I have to set boundaries with myself, and not allow myself to react to someone elses behavior. At the end of the day it's my energy wasted, not theirs.
Example: Someone yells at me out of their own frustration of a situation, and instead of reacting an stooping low. I calmly keep my composure and do something else to eliminate negative intrusive thoughts to occurs
This example shows not only my mental strength but my ability to emotionally realign myself with something else to take my attention away🌺
@InsightfulPhoenix
Energy is precious and the more we age (or get sick) we understand this and there is no time to waste it so I fully agree with what you said! Great strategy too!
@InsightfulPhoenix that's a huge breakthrough. ❤❤ I want to learn to not let what someone says, get to me. I never argue it be mean back. It just really upsets me
The biggest tip I can give is this, when someone is upset remember that is their energy, not your energy to tap into. If someone wants to convey their emotions to you because they are your closest friend or even partner and even family that does not entitle them to take their frustration out on you. Keep in mind that usually when someone is yelling at you, they're shouting at themselves because in that moment they aren't speaking to you. They are speaking to themselves because projection can manifest itself in many forms, and the biggest form is shouting🌺
@Tinywhisper11
@InsightfulPhoenix thankyou ❤ I will try to keep that in mind ❤☺️❤
@amiablePeace77 I can't really get the hang of mindfulness. Especially when I'm to dad to even comprehend techniques. But I guess in my own way, I've learnt to be more supportive to others and deep gratitude ❤
how are you doing ami? Hope you're ok ❤
@Tinywhisper11
There are so many ways of being mindful in every day life like sitting in your chair in your favorite spot under a tree in the garden where you live, watching the birds. Gratitude is a form of mindfulness too. You might be more mindful than you think and you are definitively supportive.
@amiablePeace77 ohh! Well maybe I am 🤔🤔🤔 thanks ami ❤❤
@amiablePeace77. Things I learned in mindfulness discussions helped me to accept living with chronic illnesses and disabilities.

how does being mindful create solutions to problems? it just distracts you
@elliotfontaine
When I am mindful I can see the bigger picture and that helps me to also see possible solutions or ways that lead to solutions.
@amiablePeace77
how does being mindful help create solutions when you’re completely lost
@elliotfontaine
I can only imagine the despair inside of you when you can't see any direction to go (if it refers to you). It's hard. Sometimes a good talk with a friend, a listener here or even with a professional can open new "worlds" , show you opportunities you might not have seen before. We are here to help. 💙
@amiablePeace77
no nobody understands my struggle so mindfulness is pretty useless in my case
@elliotfontaine
Mindfulness can make life richer and less stressful but it is not the solution to everything. I hope you will meet someone who makes you feel understood. At the moment there is an AMA (ask my anything) in the therapy community. If you care to ask one of the 7 Cups Online Therapists a question in this free AMA forum, feel free to go to this link https://www.7cups.com/forum/therapy/General_2432/AMAwithJoeNelsonLCSWA7CupsOnlineTherapist_326769/ and fill out the short form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfjh3rzHepiRvGwQPHtqNDEBpH2klGtVNvwG0t7tLltnFy95Q/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0
@amiablePeace77
being mindful doesn’t actually solve anything it’s just a temporary distraction
I don't know what about myself mindfulness helps me accept. Mindfulness, as I understand it, is just focus training. It takes a lot of work but sometimes it can calm me. I guess I notice lots of thoughts and emotions and feelings occur, and by acknowledging they exist, I guess I accept them? It doesn't make it any easier to live with. I just have no other option but to tolerate them in the hopes they ease and let me live. Not sure what about it it helps me accept though.
