Good question, actually it depends on the situation because I am a rather patient person. However, there has been moments where certain people have pressed my patience and trying to provoke me for a reaction. I can definitely say it's one of those depends on the circumstance, person and event because as an individual I do not become impatient unless provoked and/or poked about said circumstance. @amiablepeace77
@InsightfulPhoenix
Nice that you usually are able to show patience. Staying patient when provoked is definitively hard. I find though that sometimes the goal of people can be to get someone impatient to make them feel bad about themselves - just a thought. Deep breathing can be quite helpful to continue patience.

Being patient does not come naturally. I have worked hard to become a mostly patient person, and people tell me I’m pretty easy to get along with. It’s because I am more content to be in the moment and not worry about what’s next. After all, the worry does nothing for me but upset me. Being in the moment could cause contentment or happiness.
There are those times/people for which I’m unable to find my patience. Sometimes I can “Talk myself off the ledge” so to speak, my positive self talk has improved. 🙂. I have a few breathing exercises that help me in stressful moments. I’ve also learned many grounding techniques which I find extremely helpful.
@amiablePeace77 I've come to see being patient as a necessary component of my own development, even if it can be difficult for me at times. I've found that acknowledging the challenges around me makes it simpler to practice patience. It's as if a strength arises from choosing to walk through difficult circumstances with grace. Therefore, it has started to seem more like a natural reaction for me, especially when I realize how much my experiences have helped me develop this resilience!

You have grown! It surely helps to acknowledge that (if applicable) the situation we're in is difficult and not just look only for the problem in ourselves and ignore what happens.
Acknowledging the difficulties of a situation, rather than solely focusing on self-blame, is a significant step forward. It takes courage to recognize that challenges can arise from external circumstances, not just internal shortcomings. Keep moving forward with kindness and wisdom ✨
@amiablePeace77 I’m not sure. Outwardly, I’m very patient with other people. But inside, I struggle a lot with irritation towards people. It’s usually because they’ve pushed my boundaries in some way and I’m feeling very impatient to get away from someone pushy. But I try hard to be kind, so they never really know how I’m feeling. I suspect that’s not true patience if I’m not at peace inside. But my actions are patient with others (?).
@amiablePeace77 Does being patient come easy to you or do you have to make an effort to be patient? I think it mainly depends on the situation and where I am mentally. I'm more impatient with myself
@mytwistedsoul
We are not the same mentally/emotionally every day and neither is our patience. Many people find it easier to be patient and understanding with others but set high expectations for themselves. I hope with time you will become more patient towards yourself.
@amiablePeace77 Thank you! I hope so too :)
In social situations, I find it beneficial to keep my larger life goals in mind. This practice helps me maintain a sense of calm, allowing me to breathe, relax, and approach the situation with a broader perspective. By considering the bigger picture, I can evaluate whether the current circumstances require urgency or if expressing anger would be counterproductive. This mindset enables me to navigate the situation more patiently and seek resolutions that promote harmony.
Usually its easy but when I'm hungry or I have an appointment coming up with others, it can feel more difficult! I just remind myself of the word patience and that tells me yes, that's how I want to be, that's the correct way to act/behave, and it settles me down and I feel more patient. Just saying (or reading or thinking) the word helps me. If it's not on my mind or in front of me, it never works, so I try to keep it in my mind. Maybe I should write a fancy little art work of the word patience for the wall somewhere to keep in front of be/near my computer? :)
@amiablePeace77
Does being patient come easy to you or do you have to make an effort to be patient? I feel that I am in between or 50/50, as patience comes easy, but due to traumas my patience has decreased, and is now something I have to work on.
What helps you to become patient in a difficult situation?
I remember to breathe and walk away from the situation and come back, to give myself space.
@amiablePeace77
I still find myself having to make effort to be patient, depending o n circumstances at the moment. Having said that, I have found (and try to incorporate) calming measures of deep breathing & meditation ( if appropriate for the situation).
