we live in a disconected era.

I know this might be relative from person to person , and so on. Still from were I stand it looks like at least a lot in my city, maybe other places people are really disconnected from each others. Sometimes we might fall into this trap of cushy entertainment to make us feel safe or kill our bad emotions or anxiety yet, the only thing it does it isolates us more and prevent us from bonding with others. A lot of times I see people who they dont look like they care for others, or it feels like it, I mean is understandable to put oneself first, but all this disconnection is kinda hard, perhaps I still should try to go to some places to bond with people like certain activities, it can feel really depressing day after day not having people to bond with , especially some woman to bond with, a lot of people just feel like they are in a constant state of haste without seeing who they have in front of them.  Sometimes when i fall more grounded i think things can feel alien to me, or perhaps i fall grounded in a city can be hard due to its neurotic nature.

@okeyyyy

I can relate.

A lot of people are consumed by things that have no real meaning or value. Like politics, money, skin color, body shape and/or size, the environment, etc. People tend to focus on the meaninglessness because they lack meaning themselves.

Purposeless people cause so much suffering.

I think what happened is that technology allowed people unlimited access to anything that fills the empty voids inside themselves. Whether it's extreme content, relationships, casual flings, online friends, or whatever. It's like people just forget we're humans.

Stupid, little humans.

@GentleFish

 I mean money to a point i get it, you need money to pay for things and give some security, politics waste of time and energy goes nowhere, body shape well some level of vanity i would not mind ,  i mean if we dont have relationships we go back to square 1 were we are all disconnected. lmao , i mean there will always be some things we dont like i get it, not necesarily to hiper idealized , just having people to bond with is enough i guess, after all we are people of the internet .lmao :)  have a lovely day

@okeyyyy

Are think people are disconnected because many have experienced difficult relationships within family or friendship settings.

I was thinking on this as well one day and made a joke to myself that man created television to distract itself from their personal problems only to consume itself in a fantasy of problems. During the early days of sitcoms that's what generally what it was all about, misunderstandings twisted into humor.

I don't know, you grow older and you get use to it. There isn't much you can do about it. Even I have sort of thrown in the towel.

@amicableox0685

yes movies, series can be an escape , like me i escape from an escape and just watch cartoons. lol, though it gets me nowhere, unless if i do this in limited time, like when i eat or less,  for me a lot of times we can hipper idealize family relationships  of how they should be , etc , etc come to terms with the family we have might be hard,  though we can only try to see how we can bond with, i know i am all words and words might mean nothing if just words. so i need to go more outside and less computer.

I've found that people are more relaxed and willing to connect with others when they are recreating in nature. Whenever I go hiking, I give other hikers a friendly greeting, and they usually give me one in return. Some chat with me because I have a toddler and they have children, too. So, kids and nature seem to help people open up a little to one another. I feel safer in the forest than anywhere else.

@easyScarf7950  yes when in nature, or when traveling, or when in the gym , more like in a sport club, so in relaxing settings were people can relax and let go of things or in the weekends or when they drink to relax and so on. thanks for the reminder ;) yay 😛

I've had it hard to connect with people and the ones I most would like to connect to, women that is. I feel disconnected from my own voice and so find it difficult to start a conversation. World is also constantly revolving. Visited a big city recently with constant people flow in the railstation and elsewhere. I found it refreshing to have to move with the flow so you have better chances for visual contact or bumping into someone and some small connection at least. Impulses to get you going. More people, more movement, the better chances for connection.

Ah ok. Yeah, I had guys just “want to talk to me” I mention I have a bf and then they either keep trying to get with me, etc. So it makes me uncomfortable. I even had a coworker do this…

@trimoon  well i guess depends on how used you are to being among people in a place were there are lots of people. For me as long as if i am safe i can be good being outside, I think things that get me out of the routine i like . Yes its nice when sporadic conversations arise and you feel less stress about it, like for me kinda like big stress talking to women i like, but if i talk like in the gym when example i need something, like if i want to share the machine, or things like that, only if she flirts with me first or something conversation arises when i dont feel so stress you know, then might be. but i dont know if you feel less stress during the day than in the night , or depends on place like and situation for sure :)

Totally agree especially with city life, and even connecting online became less. Everyone is disposable, connections stop suddenly and a lot of people fall out easily.

Even though having a supportive community constantly is essential for our mental health.

I agree. It's hard to meet new friends, especially as we grow older. All I can say is continue to put yourself out there. Continue to participate in activities and keep an open mind. Also be comfortable with isolation as well. Learn to enjoy your own company first and then other things fall into place.
