Mindfulness Daily Check-In November 17, 2017

When you are not focused how do you be mindful
Like really??? I can't think- let alone be mindful. This happens to each one of us. We are working on something and don't even notice that our minds are no longer focused on what we are doing. That is ok- really
Still try not to judge yourself- try and be kind. I mean it's just our brains not on a leash and need a bit of training. How so you say???
Manage your temptations Sorry to say- but many of our distractions are cause our eyes are glued to some sort of screen
tweets, emails, and the like. Stay focused limits the amount of time you can spend in your inbox, on Facebook, or wherever else you might be seduced away.
Monitor your mind and take second thoughts Noticing where your mind has gone ...checking your twitter feed instead of working on that report gives you the chance for a second thought: my mind has wandered off again. Just observe try not to judge this.
Practice a daily mindfulness session It can be as simple as watching your breath, noticing when your mind has wandered off, letting go of the wandering thought and bringing it back to your breath again. In mindfulness what gets stronger are the brains circuits for noticing when your mind has wandered, letting go, and returning to your chosen focus. And thats just what we need to stay with during that one important task were working on.
Alright everyone, this I myself and working alot with today. How can you relate to this?

@RumpleSteeleSkin I think when we monitor what we are doing online, we can practice mindfulness also. Mindfulness involves focusing our awareness, so when we abandon our plan to get the laundry done or do our homework, this can be seen as an example of auto pilot actions and we can draw our attention back to the task at hand.
On the other hand we can set goals for ourselves like I am going to do the laundry or my paper and then I will check my email for 15 minutes. As long as we stay within our intentions, we can still be mindful and not wander off.
@soulsings
Hi Souls good to see you in check in
I do understand on the internet and getting life stuff done. I have done that several times and sometimes to much. I think yes to be aware of our goals- meaning what we have to get done while on interney, how much time we spend on it etc. Alot of things in our daily lives can take up our time, or have our brains wonder alot. Thing is like you said be aware- set those goals
@RumpleSteeleSkin
My mind tends to wander a lot, not all the time, but hmm too often. realized that today when peeling carrots, so i switched on one of my meditations and i felt how the body started to relax and i could do my cooking with much more awareness.
to be honest I used to indulge myself in the social network but recently I've been better at managing the temptation of social network. Initiating works ain't as difficult as it used to be and I am very thankful that I rarely procrastinate nowadays. Procrastination is one of the causes of anxiety and I'm glad that procrastination doesn't affect me as much as it used to
@ambitiousCity3124 I am glad you are managing your time better :)
@JustLikeMellie thanks
Awesome check in! Rumple :)
TBH, my day usually start with being mindful. All planned and scheduled. Everyone on place! I supposed to be good to go.
Then till evening, I become mindfull. As lot of things come in way unexpectadly due to which lot of thoughts and actions keep going simultaneously.
Then, after reaching home, I do workout and anything else like cooking or walking to bring my mind to be mindful.
So, thats how actually it happens. You can't be mindful / mindfull always. Its upto you how often you try to de-clutter your mind to keep it organized. :)
@ASilentObserver
HI Silent thanks for sharing this. Im glad to hear that you plan your day out and are mindful. Sometimes I find that hard to complete on some days. I do understand you on the end of the day mindful. But also like the challenge of releasing all that and letting the day end-you know. I do agree on the choice how we want things to be. But for those starting mindfulness it can be hard.

@RumpleSteeleSkin - oh wow i'm really getting behind on checkins! :o
