Isla de Pascua, in Chile?
@ThankYouForLettingMeTryingToHelp What a great guess!
@ThankYouForLettingMeTryingToHelp
Hey, that was a good guess but sorry no, not this time.
The site on isla de pascua chile with its 900 monumental statues called moai, created by inhabitants during the 13th–16th centuries looks similar and surely is worth a visit. Thanks for that guess

@amiablePeace77
Isn't that the Stonehedge in Scotland?
@Sageypie It is Stonehege! Well at least that was my guess too!
@lavenderpeach1107
That must be it right? haha!
@Sageypie It has to be!
@amiablePeace77 I think it's Stonehenge, right? lol. If not, it reminds me of it. Very mysterious place. Not sure how or why it was built?
@fearlessWriter78 I know right... how it was built is such a mystery!
@fearlessWriter78
One theory suggests that Stonehenge was used as a Late Neolithic burial site and a monument to the dead – or at least it was for 500 years during the first two phases of its construction from ~3,000 BC until the monuments were erected in ~2,500 BC.
Charred remains were unearthed in holes around the site, known as the Aubrey Holes, that once held small standing stones. Analysis of the bones suggests they were buried during this 500-year period. After 2,500 BC, the people who used Stonehenge stopped burying human remains in the stone circle itself and began burying them in ditches around the periphery, suggesting a shift in the cultural significance of Stonehenge.

@amiablePeace77 Wow, so fascinating! Thanks for the info!
@amiablePeace77
I wish they didn't fence it off from people, now if you visit it it is just as looking at that pic...off limits to the public...
@feelitinyourbones2 Oh wow I didn't know that! That is a shame that it's not open to the public!
@lavenderpeach1107
It is open to the public but you can no longer approach the stones, just walk around them...
@feelitinyourbones2 Oh got it! Thank you for letting me know that!
@feelitinyourbones2
"If you visit Stonehenge today, you'll find that it's roped off — keeping visitors from touching, or worse, taking bits of the nearly 5,000 year old monument. ... However, with the recognition that the stones might be unstable Stonehenge was fenced, a policeman was installed, and a 1 shilling entrance fee was charged"
@amiablePeace77 This is stonehege in Wiltshire, England! Thank you History channel!
@lavenderpeach1107
yaay lavender, you're right, England Wiltshire. Congratulations! 🎂
Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England, two miles west of Amesbury. It consists of a ring of standing stones, with each standing stone around 13 feet high, seven feet wide and weighing around 25 tons. Construction started 3000 BC. ( Wikipedia)
Stonehenge was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986
@amiablePeace77 Thank you for the cute cake icon you sent! And thank you for the additonal facts about Stonehenge! They were very interesting!
@amiablePeace77 I too agree with the others! This is Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England! What a beautiful and strange place!
@amiablePeace77
Yo... hold up! Isn't this the Stonehenge in England? I was so obsessed with this landmark as a primary schooler! I had forgotten all about it until I saw this post. But it's quite well done considering the tools the Neolithic people had back in the day
@amiablePeace77
HI Ami I almost did not make it to this trip
idk where this place is but I know I'd love it near where I live. I can see myself sitting in the grass or shade reading or just laying on my back observing the sun. I know I'd make this place one special place I come visit alot
