Do things you actually want to do.

Many know what self care is and what it looks like. Shower, music, coffee may be involved. But if you do not prefer those activities, you will not stick to it.

So one of the first things to do when scheduling your routine- ask yourself. Ask what makes you feel like you enjoy. You feel good. What activities actually make you happy and include them in your schedule.

Allot some time for it.

Self care not means do what others suggested to make you feel good. You not need to spend hours on it. Do what you want to do. Something that makes you feel you are in your skin. You are calm and relaxed. You enjoying the moment. That is Self-care.

That is what one must do.

If one likes journaling, then journal is his way of self-care.

If one likes to have coffee, then it is her way to feel good.

It is all about individuality. Everyone is different. So why one be in other's skin to have self-care? Be in your skin. Be yourself. And make your Self-care routine.

When you do what you like, you will do constantly. You will stick to the routine. You will enjoy.

so what are your thoughts? what do you want to do for self-care? Share with us!

@ASilentObserver

Journaling to me helps me recharge myself and also get my words out on paper to express what it is I am going through. It helps me explain to my boyfriend just what I am feeling.

Nice post. What I try to do is at least 3 coping skills a week to help me feel good. I also get my toolbox out if I need it.

@ASilentObserver Hi Obs! heart How are you doing today? I hope you are having a wonderful day and week so far! laugh

so what are your thoughts? what do you want to do for self-care? Share with us!
I completely agree with you as I experienced this myself. I will stick to something only if I truly enjoy it. And so, for self-care, I just like to be comfortable and at ease. I like to read, lay down and watch TV, nap, and just do something simple overall. I am always so tired, because there is always so much to do. So my favorite type of self-care is just to barely do anything for once and relax. smiley

@ASilentObserver nice thread! I did a Tai Chi class this morning and it helped me feel better. Cooling off from the summer heat always helps too. Spending time away from the routines can help renew me.

Hi observer, I saw your post and wanted to reply cuz this is something om trying to do .I try and do self care but its usually work or other things on my mind that I don't have time for. I try and sit out and think clearly do mindfullness just sat there and not worry. I'm a constant worrier so self care for me is important .I do anything like watching tv, listening to music or seeing friends etc whatever makes me feel good but haven't been doing much self care this week or recently .I'm looking for meet up groups in my area to do self care and do something I enjoy but can't find time and lost my motivation cuz when it comes to weekends I'm so tired from work I can't be bothered to do anything. Even seeing friend sometimes. Is there anything you can say to me what might help? I wanna get my social one back on track plus ways on which to relax and be free

Hi Obs, thanks for this post. I wish you a wonderful weekend with lots of pampering time laugh.

Self-care, hm, what i plan for this weekend is getting creative again, most probably mandala, reading one of my cooking books, getting hungry and cook, definitively foot and hand massage and of course my daily routine of meditation. I love doing meditation because i can feel it changes my brain in a positive way.
