The SUMMER READING PROGRAMS Have Begun!
Libraries have summer reading programs, where you read books over the summer to earn prizes! Reading will keep you sharp, empathetic, and learning over the summer. :)
So, who’s with me???
Sign up for the summer reading programs at your local libraries (I also hear rumors that places like Barnes and Noble and Amazon do them too, but I’ve never done those.)
If your local library doesn’t have one, make your own! Set a goal for the number of books read, or time spent reading, and give yourself prizes along the way, with a big reward at the end! <3
While you’re doing the reading programs, share with us! Tell us what you’re reading, where you love to read, what you want to read, and anything else you’d love to share! <3

I love reading novels <3 I am currently reading behind closed doors. 🥰 Also I would recommend "forty rules of love" it's a nice One i haven't finished yet! I'll try to make more time to read them. ✨🤍
I'm basically with you. I'm pretty sure I've gotta make up my own, but I'm reading an extremely long short story collection because I'm running out of books.
E-books count too, and audiobooks :)
E-books is what I'ma have to look into anyway. I'm not playing to win right now, but I'll see what happens. 😁
Any reading is winning hehe
Ooooh good one!
@jesusredeemedme2425 I'm working my way through a collection of Dogman books by Dav Pilkey, doing the voices for my nephew 💜
@Amanda84 that's so cute 🥺🥰

I think sharing what we read is a good way to keep engaged and sharpen understanding. I'm not sure my library has anything like that, but I will share my journey where I can and reward myself for milestones.
I do like reading, but only got through 1 book last year, The Alchemist. I did start another recently but now there's two more competing for my attention: The 48 Laws of Power; and The Prince.
The one I'm reading at the moment is just fun. The other two are more about knowledge. So I'm torn... I honestly don't know how to resolve it!
There's more I want to read, including the Bible, but I also want to keep up on here. I really feel pulled between a great many things.
I am reading Me and My Big Mouth by Joyce Meyer. Honestly, I mostly read it when I have a support person with me because it makes me a ton more motivated. It also has a study guide that I am doing, which is pretty time consuming. I really love learning, and I have a lot of books, but sometimes it can be hard to get motivated to read.
Our library has this program for adults, but I don't always remember to enter the books I read.
I just finished Civil War Gold for my book club. It got mixed reviews, but for me it was better than I had expected it to be.
I bounce between audiobooks and for fiction I usually read ebooks. Another book I enjoyed was Building a non-anxious life by John Delaney. I would like to listen to it again, or find more like it.
I also listened to and read the 12 week year. I am so glad to have stumbled across the concept and strategy. Instead of focusing on your goals for one year, it has you focus on goals for 12 weeks and forces you to really commit tto fewer goals at one time. Before I was trying to do everything and getting overwhelmed. It has helped me to be consistent with exercise in the last 12 weeks and I can get some reading in when I am working out.
How's your summer reading progress going??? <3

I'm sad to admit that I haven't picked up a single book this year. Except for one when I was traveling. I've been really caught up with life to get to indulge in a fantasy world. But 5 minutes a day seems like a negligible ask. Thanks for motivating me.
