Building a Routine - A
Some people seem to have a controlled routine, while others are forced into a routine and then the day is over, and then there are those (like me) that have been pulled and pushed in so many directions for so many years, I never learned to have a routine nor understood the value of it. But now Believe it is very valuable. So it's worth it for me to fight for a routine.
I'll continue new threads to share my progress or setbacks. 😊
That sounds really nice @IsayUncle good luck to you <3
Thank you for the post. I'm like that somehow, it is not steady. but I know if I keep repeating there is a chance to do better.
That's a good reminder for me too. I can't make a routine.
@Optimisticempath @LLils @Creamyyy
Good morning you all, thanks for responding. That was really encouraging. On my threads, please feel free to talk and support each other. If we are working on something in common or wanting to show support, lets all help each other out. Just because I posted it doesn't mean you have to direct your insights, questions and wisdoms just to me.
About me now. I started building a routine a couple weeks ago and it was feeling really really good. THEN A THING OR ISSUE happened and my budding routine got blown out of the water! 😟. The silver lining is that I did write down my starting routine so now I can kickstart it again, easier.😊.
I believe if we have a sound and grounded routine, emergencys and outside forces don't disrupt it too much because I think a good routine allows for flexibity without losing all of one's MoJo and Rythym. BUT building a routine makes that routine vulernable to all kinds of destructive forces.
My parents do routine for me every day is called schedule so I see what I do that day I get really anxious when things happen I don’t know so helps see schedule there every day
@IsayUncle
Routine is death
If your life is random, you need to organize your time
Because routine is not organization
@NoorEdin
Thank you for that insight. I agree and would like to suggest that they help each other. Organization helps master a Routine and a Routine helps master Organization but they are not the same thing at all. Because they work so closely together it is easy to consider them the same idea.
Very Good Point, thank you so much. Sometimes just a little clarification can have a powerful result.
@NoorEdin
OMG, Believe it or Not.... I missed the "Routine is Death" part. I am so sorry, That definetly changes the dynamic of the conversation. I think I know what what you mean though.... routine can suck the spontaneity out of life's decision making.
My argument for that is routine is not death, it is a different way of living. If a person can afford to live a spontaneous life because they are disciplined, carefree, financially secure, no depenents or others to look after that is awesome. But when everything falls apart, I believe routine is the only discipline that will keep you alive, sane and hopeful.
P.S. I still love the insight that organization is not routine and vice versa! 😊
@IsayUncle
There may be errors because I am using the translator
I agree with you
It depends on how we look at things
In this life, everything has its positives and negatives
So, of course, the routine has its pros and cons
A routine is a daily program reproduced, there is nothing new in it
Routine is setting a path that must be walked to death
Routine means killing any ambitions or thinking about anything new
Routine is killing all creativity and disabling all your abilities and possibilities that you can explode - so I said about it, routine is death.
You live this life as if you were a programmed machine
Yes, there are people who like routine, because they are afraid of new or change
And there are other people who choose the routine because they believe that there are omens for the future, and they avoid unexpected dangers and surprises in a fixed, stereotypical life, even if it is boring
The chances of depression from the routine are great, and the people around you may feel neglected and disinterested
In my personal opinion, change is what gives vitality and happiness in life, or at least strive for it or think about it
A routine may not be bad when it is greater than your ambitions and abilities
@NoorEdin
Hey Noor, your translater is working fine. I saw no errors and understood everything you said, but we do disagree. Like you said, everything has it's pro's and cons.
For the record, I am talking about personal routines, NOT institutional routines, like the military or like prison or other forced govermental agencies or hospitals. I am talking strictly about personal routinens, not routines forced on us.
"A routine is a daily program reproduced, there is nothing new in it" I disagree. As my life evolves so will my routine. If I get a dog, or buy a house, break a leg, get married and so on.... My routine must adapt to my new cicumstances.
"Routine is setting a path that must be walked to death" I disagree. People build routines to manage thier time better. It is a choice that's made. We could choose not to follow a routine anytime it is no longer an advantage. We are not stuck with it to death. and we can change it if we wish.
I can go on with your other examples but I believe you think a routine is all time consuming and I believe that is where we differ. A routine can be as big or as little as it needs to be to help someone feel better by being able to make free time.
"Routine means killing any ambitions or thinking about anything new"
Our lives are already programmed machines We wake, we eat, we work, we clean and then all over again. I have a hard time with all of that so a routine helps me manage all those things faster and better so I do have more time to be creative and more ambitious.
I can totally understad your point of view if someone has been forced to live with a routine of not thier own making and it was forced on them. I could see how there is no good in that type of routine, Like you said, pro's and cons.
thanks for sharing a powerful point of view and perspective.
As every day passes and I miss obligations and deadlines I vow not to make anymore promises until I can build a routine. I need my routine. if I cannot do anything else... I must have a routine. I see a strong routine as a strong foundation where all that is important is completed before promising my time and energy to other things.
A keystone to my routine is having the kitchen clean and dishes washed before bedtime to start the morning off with extra time. This is hard for me. Every evening I'm tired, my legs ache and my feet hurt. But this is a MUST, It's a discipline and when broken, breaks the whoule routine before even starting.
I'm doing my dishes now.
