For me, goal setting needs to be clear enough to have room for hope and problem-solving: hope involves knowing that there might be more than one pathway to get there and so that helps me see the obstacles as challenges rather than mere distractions.

@SoulfullyAButterflyI believe we should not think too much about ourselves and every simple tiny bit we do (overthink), so, let us exclude perfectionism. Obstacle may be seen as the way, too. If there were no obstacles we would not feel any courage, strength and grit. It is all in one package: goals and obstacles. Best wishes to all. We are all in this together. Stay focused, simple, give yourself time and be gentle to yourself.❤️
Positive thinking helps me: "I survived yesterday. I can survive today."

Well, that's good! But for both of us I hope very soon that our lives shall be more than just surviving; like Jesus Christ says in the Bible:
10 I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
All the best for us both - Helga.

If I can survive, I'm alive, If I'm alive, I can do anything. Stay positive!

1. Learn to say no to things that are insignificant in your life.
2. Be consistent - work on your plan every day and show up for yourself.
3. Keep a journal of your plans and track/update it daily.
4. Stop trying to perfect every single detail to achieve your plans because that's unrealistic.
5. Take feedback constructively and ignore criticism that's malicious.
6. Write down your plans in a place you see often to remind yourself to focus on what's important.
7. Be kind to yourself and take breaks whenever necessary.
8. Use S.M.A.R.T. goals and create a system that works best for you.
9. Use a reward system when you achieve small successes that lead to your main goal.
10. Manage your time well we all have the same 24 hours. If you're not able to multitask and do many things at once, start early.
Reminders:
- "Face your fears and make things work" - that's what I tell myself daily and that's how I manage to get the most important tasks done every day. I've failed many times, so find something that drives you.
- Do it for you and not for others, otherwise it will lose meaning and you'll not feel fulfilled when you achieve something.
- To achieve something, you have to put your ego aside. So ask lots of questions, even if they're silly and embarrassing, as long as they help you achieve your plan.
- Remember that no one is in a position to push you to achieve anything in your life. So don't rely on others to motivate you when you want to accomplish something. Even if you have good company, you can't achieve anything if you don't push yourself.

Even though it's an old post, it's really helpful for me. Thank you, I really appreciate it. <3
@SoulfullyAButterfly
Personally, I have to ignore a lot of stressors. Out of sight out of mind sort of thing. The more focused I am with my goals, the happier I am.
@SoulfullyAButterfly
For me, I focus more on the joy found in the journey than the goal. And knowing that it doesn't matter how slow I'm going or if I slip up because no matter what I keep trying. If I keep trying I will always get better by default. So, instead of staring at the end of the tunnel I take my time and observe all the little things along the way.
My goal today is to get my kid off to school on time and then come back and clean 😁 and preschool my other kid
I am working on focusing on goals instead of obstacles. I realized the only obstacle was myself.
