Wiki Team - Next Iteration, Updates & Apply to help!
Hi Everyone!
We are going to be moving towards a more thoughts wiki integration - including the development of dedicated team! Woohoo!!
Big thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the wiki. Here is the plan moving forward -
We will have 2 Wiki Agendas/ Teams - Listen up!
1) A general wiki team! A team of dedicated volunteers that adds content and information about 7 Cups, our community and any relevant information about us! First and foremore the main 7 Cups wiki needs to be a central hub of information about 7 Cups, who we are, our mission, what we hope to accomplish and best practices around participation. This is where we are going to focus our efforts right now. As the wiki grows and evolves, we may layer in more content & categories, but for now, we must focus on the basics!!
Part of what we will be doing is assigning team members ownership over specific categories on the wiki, your job will be to own your category topic, add content, find content, invite folks to add articles...etc. Your job will be to take the lead in managing 1-3 wiki topic categories. we are looking for applications!
Next week, we will clear the wiki team badge and give the badge out to only those who have applied and meet the requirements for this role
2) A Subcommunity team! Each Sub-community has its own wiki category that will be linked to the sc dashboard. It will replace the resources tab. Each SC team will be responsible for managing and maintaining a wiki category for their own SC.
The resources will be replaced with wiki - see example below!

SC Leaders - it is up to you to take ownership of your communities wiki page! If you are a subcommunity leader, please keep adding resources and information to your wiki section! Soon it will be moved / linked up to your SC page directly and be a great resources for your community! yay!!!
We hope to make the above dev change in the upcoming weeks! More info to come on that soon!
Big thank you to everyone who is already helping with the wiki! you rock!
Yay!
@Laura Using the wiki as a central place for SC resources make a lot of sense to me. I think changing the name of the tab in each SC will help a lot!
@Laura
Will forum categories be added to the wiki too?
@MonBon The Wiki is more of a resource centre while the forums are more discussion based, so adding each and every forum category on to the wiki (unless theyd be sub-categories to guides, resource/info threads, etc.) wouldnt be a good idea, in my opinion :o
@IcedEthan
I meant resources for the forum categories, since Laura only mentioned subcoms. General support is not a subcom but covers a variety of mental health topics. Loneliness is not a subcom but is our 7th most requested chat topic on the entire site.
@MonBon Ah, that makes more sense now : )
I thought you literally meant like all of the forum categories from ‘Daily Check-ins, to ‘X Support, to ‘Got a Question? Ask it here, etc. Whoops, sorry! xD
@IcedEthan
Thanks for keeping me in check :)
@MonBon Maybe its time loneliness become a subcom - even if we linked depression support team to it and depression room. As that covers the loneliness sessions?
@fluffyUnicorns84
It has no leadership yet other than @ItsPreeti - but we're making a recruitment push in May and will revisit
@MonBon Ah yes that makes sense :D
@fluffyUnicorns84 and @MonBon
@MonBon
If forum category leaders want wiki sections, id LOVE to create them!!
@Laura
Okay :) I will reach out and see if anyone is able and willing
Awesome use of the Wiki and Sub-communities, to integrate together making it easier for members and listeners to find resources, information, past notes/what-not, etc. :D
oooh I like this update! It will be a great way to store all the resources! Is there a way to delete duplicate sub-communities on wiki? It can get confusing on which one people are uploading for
I am not able to enter my email-id in that form. What's wrong with it. Help appreciated. Its saying invalid url.
@peacefulBubbles40 I am having the same problem
@Gracey
we will have to wait for some help.
@peacefulBubbles40
updated! try now
@Laura
Just want to log that I still cant accessthe Family, Friends, & Caregivers Sub-com in Wiki, I've left two bug reports and still get the message
You are not allowed to view this category.
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Cannot use object of type SC\Chorum\Category as array in /var/app/current/wiki.php:345 Stack trace: #0 {main} thrown in /var/app/current/wiki.php on line 345
@Laura that's an awesome update! And I think it will be so useful for people to know more about 7cups from the wiki, not to look in the site itself
Just applied. So excited.
I just applied
@Laura thank you
