Hi everyone!

I would like to get in touch with people here that love reading and would like to share what they are reading about and hopefully have interesting conversations about any lessons / ideas / thoughts we share about the books.

Where I live, not many people read, even less in English and I just miss having conversations about the things I learn and read about.

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

I mainly like to read self development books or books I can learn something from.

However, Im also trying to start to read some thrillers / crime fiction in Spanish to keep improving my Spanish.

I'm currently reading the book "warrior goddess training" by HeatherAsh  Amara, and recently finished the book "the glucose revolution" which was very interesting as well.

How about you? What do you like to read?

Love this genre too.

And these sound quite fascinating! What was the glucose revolution about?

My preferred genre is self-help/ development books too. Practical insight or some kinda inspiration to draw from!

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

The glucose revolution was about how glucose and insulin affect your body, that it spikes after you eat, what the effects are of those spikes and how to flatten those curves. It was very interesting, especially as it is something I can see happens in my day-to-day life.
Im currently trying to read "Everyday Enlightenment" as well as "women who run with the wolves"
The first one, everyday enlightenment, I bought the book at least 1 year ago and still had to read it, it's about 12 gateways to improve your wellbeing and life, I love it, especially as I do some journalling on the side with things that come up for me.
The second one, women who run with the wolves, still on the 1st chapter, I find it a super difficult book to get through, lots of symbolism, but at the same time very interesting.

@52Hertzzz

Nice to meet you! I love reading self development books about mental and/or physical health. I love learning things. But it's one thing to read it alone, it's a completely different thing to have discussions about it, talk about what you read, what you learned. I just finished reading "the glucose revolution"and slowly trying to get through the book "the warrior goddess training".
Im also trying to start reading some fiction, mainly crime fiction in Spanish to try to improve that language as well.
what kind of books do you like to read?

Ohh woww, this is really cool!! I really admire people who reads about mental and physical health books, I feel like they are very much scientific but reveals how human bodies function, which is very interesting to learn about.

I actually read all varieties, but among them I guess psychology related take up a huge part, then its a lot of fictions including the classical ones like Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Great Gatsby, Gone with The Wind etc (oh I just discovered most among them are love stories, which is weird haha), and I also like some Japanese writers' novels!!

@Celestine22

hey celestine.....I'm in love with reading, so I had to give my favs as of now😉

Regarding self-development, I have always found Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman interesting. It's an excellent book and has some great insights about time. Another one is, ofc Deep Work by Cal Newport. I think it's a classic.

I'm way more into novels these days, and I think for mystery, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is engaging and has a nice plot. Again, I can't help from mention the queen of crime, Agatha Christie. I highly recommend her Hercule Poirot.

Bonus: Idk if ur really into historical fiction, wartime or not, but The Book Thief is the book I'm obsessed with over the years, so if ur into it, I say u give it a try

@Celestine22 Hello there. For me, I read all sorts of books, I don't stick to one gener. As a child I loved Harry Potter and sherlock Holmes books and girly books like Anne of Green Gables. If are into psychological thrillers I recommend  silent patient. Kate Morton's books are good if you like stories about family secrets - the Secret keeper is my favourite book of her. Call me by your name is a LGBT coming of age lover story. The Da Vinci code is a religious  misery thriller novel. I have the habit of visiting Good Reads site to read reviews about books before or after reading a book, that makes you see different perspectives of a novel. Hope this gave you some ideas. Happy reading 📖🤓
