Stop Beating Yourself Up
1. Compliment yourself. Make efforts to not putting yourself down. To do it, recognize and acknowledge your thoughts. Be aware of your negative thoughts and talk. To rewire your thoughts, remind yourself of the things you did well, your milestones and achievements, how did you tackle a tough situation in the past. It will allow you to feel good about yourself.
2. Be kind. As much as it is important to be compassionate to others, it is important to be compassionate to yourself too. The things which you would never say to anyone to hurt or make them feel low, try not to say those to yourself as well. You need love as much as anyone else does.
3. Stop comparison. Everyone is unique and so their timeline is different too. Some might have started late and some might started early. Some may have specific resources but some may have spent hours and days on acquiring them first. So, comparing yourself with them not going to help you. Focus on your journey and how you could do it better.
4. You cannot avoid mistakes and failures. They are part of life. They represent your learning curve. When you make a mistake or fail at something, you learn a lesson. A lesson of what you do not need to do. And you are not alone who make mistakes. It is unavoidable. Acknowledge and learn from them.
5. Patience is a virtue. Whatever you do, from cooking a meal for the family to acquire a business deal, everything takes time. It has a process and while it is in process, you need to be patient with yourself. Between the start of an idea and a finished product, there is a middle journey that is messy and you need to go through it.

@ASilentObserver this is such an important post! thankyou for it <3
@Clarisse29
I generally agree with these, but I've also experienced that it's important to pay attention in what context you do this. For example, patience is commendable for sure, but you can also use it as an excuse to be lazy or avoid difficult situations.
What I'm trying to say is; these are great reminders but always evaluate every situation to understand what the best thing to do is. 🙂
@ASilentObserver
I love this post! Thanks for posting it! I hope it helps someone <3 :D
@ASilentObserver
Thanks. I'm listening.

I say. I say. I say some more. But what am I really saying. How far have I sank into my own despair.
What to Say When you Talk to yourself - by Shad Helmstetter
Its an important read suggested by a very good friend of mine here. 👍 Im not quite halfway through it yet but its important to start with how we think of ourselves in terms of what we believe we can reasonably accomplish. If people keep telling us, You cant do this because you dont have the skills. when you havent tried yet, then you might believe that you cant do it solely from what theyre telling you.
@ASilentObserver
Wow! Thank you! Best post I've read today and what a great way for me to start my day! All of these things are truths that I hold near and dear to my heart. These are things that help you keep going, help you to keep pushing forward in an effort to be your personal best. Your biggest competition is the one you see in the mirror. Don't compare yourself to others. Fruitless! Compete against your own last personal best! Helps you to grow in a healthy way I think.
I'm a worthless failure. If I don't beat myself up I'm lying to myself because I'm garbage and deserve nothing else.
@tluper6491
Sometimes we lie to protect ourselves as well. It's okay to feel this way too you don't have to live up to anyone's expectations but your own.
@ASilentObserver Awesome Post!!
I beat myself up over not being as good as others on the site.. I am always checking my profile and looking at others and wondering what i am doing wrong..
I am doing the very best i can and I am Me so I just have to stop worrying that I am not good enough to be on this site as a Listener/Global Mod.
