One green flag in a relationship is not being controlling and judgemental of your partner's lifestyle. πŸ’š

One green flag πŸ’š would be support. I think that is something very major. I've dealt with NPD parents and an NPD ex whom were very NON-supportive...

It's important to have people in your life that want to see you improve in healthy ways, and encourage you to do better. You don't want people who hold you back or talk down on you as though you are lesser than them.

I cut off the toxic people in my life and have been evolving since. I feel better now. I have people who actually CARE. I was tired of it being one-sided, where I did all the caring while being used... I don't have to worry any longer about that. πŸ’š

@ImpudentIncognito So true. AND congrats for you, learning and growing as you figure out what strengthens you, and who or what weighs you down. I'm so glad you're doing well.

@purplelady568 Thanks Purple! I've decided to take a break from dating to take some time for self-improvement and healing. My friend circle is also smaller as well. I focus on strengthening the friendships I currently have. If other people want to join, they still can, but my main focus is on spending time with son and self-care.

@ImpudentIncognito - Good for you! Boundaries are important, as well. I am glad that you can nurture the relationships you already have, and focus on your son. I imagine that dating with a child involved, means that you have to go about things a little differently, rather than if you were single, without a child.

@Hope One green flag in a relationship is space. Giving each other space but also make it a point to be with each other.

My greenflag would be when I feel safe to express myself with that person. I know I won’t be judged, and I believe with all my heart they won’t leave me.

I have abandonment trauma so I always have trust issue like- I believe ppl will always leave me. So when I met someone that I trust them that they won’t leave me no matter what, I feel safe to express myself and it somehow heals me inside :)

@Hope

One green flag in a relationship is:

  • when someone is considerate and aware of your boundaries,

    asks about them when unsure,

    and doesn't push them

Respect is one of the most important components without which one cannot claim that they love someone.

When your partner can respect you for the person you are without the need to change you as an individual, that's for sure the green flag sign that the relationship is healthy and such couples are bound to be happy with each other! πŸ’œπŸ’™

"One green flag in a relationship is..."

1958 Rom/Com Movie "Auntie Mame" w/ Rosalind Russell.
'Life is a banquet and most poor *** are starving to death!'
(or something like that) said by Auntie Mame.
Relationships are to be a joining where one ends and the other begins. It is to be a compliment or addition. Like a third arm you always needed when completing so many tasks.

As Auntie Mame said, Life is a banquet. All you have is on the table of life. The "other" in the relationship is to bring to the table life their (whatever). A green flag would be the "other" bringing something New.
I would not want someone to bring to my table everything that is already there. It would be like another me, which would not be good LOL.
