How are fees calculated and paid for when talking to a 7 Cups therapist asynchronously?
Can't seem to find the information on the site. Anyone have experience or knowledge of this?
I didn't know you get charged for that and I've talked to someone here. Will it show up on my phone bill?

I have found one piece of the puzzle. If you click on your profile pic, then click on my settings, scroll down to the bottom, on the left is a gray button that says subscription, click on that.
Mine says a monthly dollar amount as well as the name of the therapist. What it does not tell me is how many hours of therapy or if I will be billed the full amount whether I use it or not. Still need some answers.
If you find out anything please post it.

A meanu will come up giving you three choices 1. My profile 2. My settings 3. Logout
Choose 2. My Settings
Try that and see if it gets you on the right track.

@Casting1973 I believe you are clicking your profile picture in the forum, this will bring you to your profile. What @OrangeYouGlad68 means is clicking your profile picture at the top right of the screen, this should give you the options orange mentioned

Talking to listeners is free. You are only charged if you choose to work with a professional therapist. No, it does not appear on your phone bill. You have to set up a payment method. If you are using the app then you get to the Settings page from the main menu on your Path screen, but I don't know any more details. If this information doesn't help, reply here and I'll investigate some more.

@RarelyCharlie The information I was looking for was in regard to a 7 cups therapist not a listener. How the therapy is charged, the cost and when it starts is not clearly communicated on the website. I have found out the answers to my questions after being charged - I was hoping for the other way around. In my opinion, 7 Cups is one of the best concepts out there and is making a positive difference. It would be great to also be the best at clearly communicating fees etc. for people who choose those services.

That's an excellent point. I haven't been though the process myself and I wasn't aware that's what has been happening. I completely agree with you and I recently said a similar thing in another thread.

For the therapist directory, you pay a standard fee each month (150 USD). For that money, you can send unlimited messages to your therapist. The amount you pay is not dependant on how much you use it, if you only send 1 message to your therapist a month it will cost the same as of you were to send 1000.

I am curious as to why the information is not readily available before proceeding with a credit card number. The therapist had a price range so I assumed a specific amount would be determined before charging my card. Also, there wasn't information (that I could find) on the website that stated whether charges were per minute, session or monthly flat fee. It is important to make these things clear.

@OrangeYouGlad68 - most likely the therapist's pricing was for in-person therapy? The cost for message therapy on 7 Cups is consistent across all therapists. You should see pricing when you sign up so if that is not the case I will need to figure out why.

Others who have chimed in are correct:
Many of the 7 Cups therapists also have traditional, office-based practices. So, they list their office hourly rate.
To work with a therapist on 7 Cups, though, it is always $150 per month. The first three days are free, as a trial period, and you can cancel anytime within that period. Throughout the month, you can message your therapist as often as you'd like 24/7. The therapist will reply once per day, Monday through Friday.
To sum up information that might be interesting for you; therapy is free to start, which translates into 3 free trial days to test the waters before you commit to the service. Then you pay a flat fee, enabling you to talk to a therapist as little or as much as you feel like for the same price. If you don't chat with your therapist regularely, but keep the fee running, you will pay the same price using the payment method of your choice. Generally, while you are talking to a therapist, they will reply to you once daily.
This is not the same as backing 7Cups, though, which enables you to use additional content of the website (prominently, different growth paths) but does not include talking to a professional therapist. Those are two different options and you don't need one to start the other.
