Changes to Important Forms! 🦺

Hello, everyone! We hope you've had a good few months of 2025. How is it April already?! 👀

I'll get straight to the point: forms can be annoying. We want to make the process of joining Safety Patrol easier and more accessible, so I am very pleased to announce that we have made three key changes to the team, two of which revolve around the forms!

🦺 SP Application 🦺
First and foremost: we have essentially halved the SP Test.

The first portion of the test is now ONLY multiple choice, the second portion is written answers, and the third portion is a mixture of both. Before this change, both the first and second portions of the test were multiple choice AND written answers. Yeah, it was a lot!

🦺 SP Cheers Form 🦺

Next, we made some changes to the form that is **MANDATORY TO SUBMIT**. We have:

  1. removed the question asking whether you are a member or a listener
  2. created a new question asking if the issue is in the bio, picture, or username
  3. altered a question asking for the profile link -- this is now asking for the username only

🦺 👀🔍 🦺

Finally, we want you to have a better idea of what happens behind the scenes. Every single flag that comes through the form above is investigated. This is why it is really important to fill out the form -- I won't know to check them regularly for the required changes. I can understand how it can feel like we're always flagging the same profile 😅 I want you all to know that every report submitted will be gotten to; I go over them manually, each and every one. It does however take me some time to do so, as we get quite a lot of them! We are dedicated to making sure that our team members are happy with their roles, content with what they are doing, and that each member feels (and knows) that they are making a difference to the community. You absolutely, categorically, definitively have a massive impact on safety. Without you, we wouldn't know that change needs to be made. Thank you for your time and passion to making a safer community 🌞

@Rebekah

Yesss, that's meeee xD  who isn't a fan of forms (unless of course, it's the Peer Appreciation Form 🥰🥰🥰), specially the unnecessary lengthy ones, sooo yayy Teammmmm, this is an awesome awesome awesome update and I do think it'll impact positively! 💛

Manually going through each flag report is such a tedious task but it is so so so important from safety perspective, a biiiigggg shout out to you, Rebekah for going above and beyond for the safety domain and safety team in particular, ever since you've joined the leadership! 💛

Lol and how it's  April already is mystery to me too! (':

Truly appreciative of all the efforts being taken here and hope more people indeed do join us in helping keep the community safer and kinderrr for all! 💛

@Rebekah Great work Rebekah, so proud of you! I agree that anything we can all do to simplify and efficientize forms is brilliant (I even created a special word for you there lol)

@Rebekah Thanks for updating this!

Is there a reason we will out the flag details  on site and the form with the details as well?

@AffyAvo, yes 🌟 3 key reasons:

o Keeping track of ST member progress
o Awarding cheers/growth points
o Ensuring that I can investigate each and every report that comes in (I do this manually)

I don't have access to the flag reports that are sent in via the site, so the form is the only way for me to measure the above 😅

@Rebekah

Now you have confused me! So your post makes it sound like you don't have access to see and action the actual flagged profiles/name/pfp? To be honest that shocks me a little. If that is so then how come you can say if we flagged wrongly? And surely you need a form like the forum modding one, that makes us copy and paste the unaltered original post, then add what is wrong with it ? 😕

I mistakenly thought that (until recent changes) that the form was just to be awarded praise and cheers.

@MistyMagic, viewing the actual flagged stuff is handled by admin, again all manually to my knowledge 😅 this is the form we use: Safety Patrol Profile Flags. It asks for the profile URL, the username, where the issue is, and what they've been flagged for. This allows me to take action and monitor the profile to ensure it changes. If it doesn't change, Safety Outreach gets involved 🌟

@Rebekah

What do you mean when you say  "subject to the type of report received"?

@Sunshine1613, hi Sunshine, it means the kind of behaviour that has been reported 🌞
