Button for Therapy
can you explain this new change?

This is on there... and its just... smack glab in the middle....
Why is this HUGE?

Edit
I feel that the button is the least of the site's worries. There is no need for the button to be all in your face. You catch more flies with honey than you can in this manner.
I just don't think that it goes well and it throws off my entire experience on this site as a member who will never get online therapy
I noticed on my member on the app, I got a HUGE pop up saying "Start your therapy!". That's very annoying.
@fruityVision - there's a pop up on the app? can you share a screen shot? that sounds odd
yes, too large, too many words. too invasive.
and it breaks all the design.
@HalliwellSister - we are experimenting with the "copy" (the words) and the style of this item, and testing variations, so some people for example don't have the white background, and we will try other shorter "calls to action" as well, to see what works best.
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Would be better if the background matched the entire bar. White is too... ehhhh. Bubbles are.... it is like alarming.... Screaming almost? it should look just like everything else. it needs to be consistent . Im a bit OCD. It needs all be same
@HalliwellSister - I hear you. Also change in general can be jarring till the mind starts filtering it out again.
Our old Path upgrade button up there was white for a while, and also orange!
We'll figure it out. It will just take a little time to balance all the considerations.
I do understand that these things can be annoying, and I'm sorry for that.
here it fits into colors but is still too large. but white blackground, i would say bad words

I would prefer that to this annoying white O.o
@TortueDesBois
I tried talking around the new rule, but my post was still deleted.
I think the content should be taking a priority over the way the ads look. I am willing to share detailed feedback to anyone who can instigate change with the content.
Why was my title changed? It's an obnoxious button 🙁 Who changed it. Please speak up.
@Anomalia @AffyAvo
I put my title back how I had it. Please do not change it. This is my feedback thread and it is not against guidelines to call something obnoxious! If you feel the need to change it at least make a post explaining your decision. Otherwise I don't agree with you.
@HalliwellSister
Obnoxious seems to have gone again. Honestly! What happened to free speech? This site is getting ridiculous!
@DeborahUK
@Laura sent me a message. It was the way to keep this thread up to make sure it didn't have a negative context. I'd rather have the thread up :3
@HalliwellSister
That's fair enough...sort of. But it still smacks of double standards. I've seen many less than positive thread titles on this forum. But it seems that therapy is an untouchable subject. Really? Even when it's not about the therapy, but just about the site layout and design.
And why the cloak and dagger secret messages? If you're censoring, be transparent about it. Own your convictions @Laura and 7 cups!
Someone PLEASE start a 'Silence Sophia' campaign! Had more than enuff of the 7 Cups Bot 😩
omg yes the bot is annoying. lol she should recognize simple words like "Cancel" when you accidentally click her
@ChromeLotus
@ChromeLotus @HalliwellSister I usually block her. easy to accidentally click the enormous and invasive button !
Yeah, I don't know about others, but I'm more likely to spend money on something that's NOT constantly being shoved in my face. I'm going to cough up the money for a therapist once I find one who can convince me that they're worth it.
@HalliwellSister now it's orange! it's HORRIBLE ! It really hurt my eyes ! I can no longer spend more than 5 minutes on the site!
@TortueDesBois
LoL... IDK - Orange might be the appropriate color. Orange is the international WARNING Color. Somehow that seems appropriate !!
@ChromeLotus HAHAHA !
@TortueDesBois
Mine was for a few minutes yesterday, but by the time I had found this thread to announce that due to my sensory processing issues I wouldn't be able to be on this site until the orange was over, it was gone again... So, since it was such an intrusive color and also a really poorly designed "button" (just the word "Therapy" over an orange rectangle, the letters barely fit in), I assumed it was an accident...
@hereigoagain yes this color is very agressive when we have sensory overloads. I am unable to stay here more than a few minutes. It hurts my eyes. I hope they remove it so i can continue to use the site. it's too much for me. the design is supposed be something relaxing.
@TortueDesBois
The app doesn't have it at all so I've just been using the app! Mine is orange on the computer too and I HATE IT!! 😣
I've already mentioned this in another thread, but it might also be of interest here.
In many cases it's easy to hide the advertisements and the orange (at the time of writing) button, and anyone who would like to know how is welcome to PM me. The method I use works in most web browsers on computers, and in a few on Android, but not in any on iOS, as far as I know.
Doing this is a workaround, not a solution, of course. It doesn't make it OK for 7 Cups to design interfaces that annoy people
@RarelyCharlie - surely not... annoyance is never the goal and tolerating any annoyance for anyone is a problem. at the same time we are experimenting with many variables and watching the impact across large populations so every signal we get is helpful in trying to make things better.
We'll also work on making our tests less annoying to already acclimated users, and so on.
the orange is still here........ when will it leave ><
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn My Start Therapy button just turned orange and it is actually hurting my eyes.
@AffyAvo
Yeah, the orange is pretty horrible!
@AffyAvo
Wearing a good pair of UV rated Sunglasses helps. LoL
@AffyAvo cleared the cookies, the button change every time. I tried 15 times, i got 13 orange and 2 green, with different text.
@TortueDesBois Thanks. PITA to do as it does seem to be random. The green is better. Typically I can deal with stimuli pretty well. That orange was brutal though. Fine to look at the top, but trying to read anything not on the blue line was painful.
The green is WAY better @AffyAvo
@HalliwellSister Agreed! None of the colours I've seen have bothered me except for that orange.
I'm disturbed even with the green.
@TortueDesBois Sorry you have less options for useability :(
@AffyAvo
@AffyAvo
I have a much softer orange right now, but it's still annoying that it's orange and the rest of the colors are blue and white.
