Feature Update: Match with Members Based on Religion
New feature update incoming! As active listeners, we all play a crucial role in providing non-judgmental and compassionate support to individuals from all walks of life.
Many members and listeners have asked us to make it easier to connect with each other based on similar religious affiliations. We recognize that religion can play a vital role in a person's wellbeing and emotional health. With this in mind, we are introducing a new browse listeners function that allows members to look for active listeners based on religious affiliation.
If you would like to provide active listening chats related to your religion and related experiences, we encourage you to add your religious affiliation to your profile. This will help users who are searching for support based on their religious beliefs to find you more easily. We understand that religion is a sensitive topic and that some of you may prefer not to share your religious affiliation. This is entirely up to you, and we respect your decision.

We want to emphasize that this new feature does not change the core values of our platform. We remain committed to providing non-judgmental and compassionate support to all users, regardless of their religious affiliation or beliefs. This update is simply an additional option for users who feel more comfortable connecting with someone who shares their beliefs.
Here are some clarifying Q&A:
If I add religion to my profile, will it limit who I can chat with?
The intent is to enable better connections to be made and to not limit who can support whom. Religion will just be an optional extra filter to use when a member browses for listeners.
What happens if I start to get less chats because of my religious settings?
We will start by trialing this setting. If there is discrimination because of this, we will remove it.
Why have you added this setting?
It was requested by many users, and we have tried to add it in a way that is sensitive, useful and not overbearing.

Thank you for adding this feature. I am a Christian and have shared that on my bio for a while. However, I also follow that up by explaining (in my bio) that my religious beliefs will in no way change how I am in a chat or judge members for their situations. My belief system does not change what I think of others.
I think this feature will be very good as it will allow those that are looking for more of a spiritual chat to look up the religion they would like to discuss. But I also understand why some Listeners may feel uncomfortable sharing this.
I'm glad that this is going to be a trial and I really hope that everyone remains respectful

I also understand and respect you mentioning that you will give this a "trial run" and see how this all pans out. I'm confident you can see the bigger picture and understand how this could potentially be problematic now and again. I'm hoping that others take it seriously and approach you in the correct way.

Thank you very much for enabling this feature. I find it to be very helpful both as a listener and as a member, which I, both, actively am.
However, I've been a target of numerous attacks because of my religion, even if I don't name it, just because I speak Hebrew. I really hope there is a filter, in the future, for such attacks, especially now!
I have been through same, so now i have started blocking the one who make fun of religions

Exactly. They need to learn some moral ethics. Religion must not be taken as a paralyzed part of society, rather considered as stron tool that connects your inner with God and thus brings the peace of mind

I went to my profile and didn't see any place to enter a religion.
@gettingbettertoday - this update refers to listeners updating their settings. Once several do (and now too) you can browse listeners based on religion filters.

This is fantastic. I've been wanting people to have better access to me who wanted to specifically talk to somebody with a similar faith background. Thank you so much for adding this.
