Our New App is Here!
Hey, everyone! Happy 2021! We’re kicking it off with exciting news! We now have an awesome NEW, REVAMPED app!
We have been working on this app since November 11, 2018. It is our single biggest release that we have ever made as an organization. 7 Cups is a big site, but most of the changes have been incremental. This new app is an entirely new rewrite/re-build of our entire site. It isn’t like renovating a staircase or putting in a new kitchen, it is instead like building an entirely new house from the ground up!
Most companies focus on the product first. They often have very clean and beautiful apps and little in the way of community. For us, we’ve always prioritized community over product. We care first and foremost about the people we serve. The product (the app and the site) is the medium through which we help people. In that way, you can think of 7 Cups like a building. People give and receive support in our building, and this building is our website and app.
There were many challenges with our old building (app) that made the process of giving and receiving support much more difficult. Those challenges have now been addressed and we’re ready to see what you think!
I’d like to give a very big thank you to all the people that worked on this app. They’ve made a beautiful building for us that anyone can now enter from anywhere in the world (i.e., it should now work on most phones). The developers, designers, and managers include:

These folks, collectively, have written 35,000k lines of code, made over 800 code commits (think of a code commit as submitting a big amount of work), and have spent thousands of hours building the app. Please join me in thanking all of these developers, designers, and managers for our new app!

The new app looks and runs wonderfully! The old app was okay but definitely felt clunky in comparison to this. This feels super streamlined and is a huge quality of life improvement! I'm excited to use the app even more.

@GlenM although new app is cool. But I am feeling apologetic to say that there I didn't find my impact tab.
As I am intern , I am in great in need of impact tab for completion of my internship requirements. Now I am suppose to switch to site again and again and it is do frustrating.
Some buttons are hard to click at the moment, (send in group chat, filter drop down arrows, etc) like the clicking "area" is a single pixel or something. Makes it appear slow when it's actually a game of spam clicking until you find the sweet spot.
The App looks great and love its new options. Been a great surprise. Thank you and happy new year to everyone on 7cups ❤️

The new app is here !! Yayy finalllyyyy!! And it looks amazing, the design and overall look is pretty neat and organized and also has a couple of new features added , which is great .
I however would like to also share an honest feedback as a 7 cups app user who used the app much more than the site even before .
the old app was surely buggy sometimes and didn't have much features as the new one , but the old one was more user friendly for me , I even hosted sessions and discussions on the app before and didn't face any problems.....In the new app however, the biggest flaw is that it doesn't announce when someone enters the room, this can be highly hurtful at times, making rooms less welcoming and inclusive, and more people feeling ignored and un-welcomed ...specially as a host for sessions and an otherwise welcoming person in rooms , it would be impossible to know who's joining . this particular missing In the new app, has really affected my will to come into rooms now :(
There's a couple of more bits and pieces of areas that have really affected my user experience here ,and that could be improved and I really hope all our suggestions are considered and looked into because after all , this is the building block , the foundation from where we can offer and seek support to each other in the community .
Nevertheless the team has really worked on the new app and it most definitely is one proud achievement for all of us !!

Wow! I remember the app back when I joined in 2015/2016 and it's so cool now. The app has come a LONG way in its short time! I still have some memorable screenshots of the old layout/look of the app that I cherish. Thank you for this incredible app!
