April 2025 Community Update!
Dear Community,
I hope you all are well! The weather is warmer and the days are longer. Thank goodness!
The most important product update we did in the last month was the release of the daily journal last week. You can read about it here. Most of you will have it at the top of your dashboard above the feed.
I have really enjoyed reading the entries you all have shared. They are rich, genuine, deep messages. You can feel the soulfulness in each one. And the collective stream feels like a beautiful expression of the 7 Cups soul.
The daily journal is still in development. We will be iterating on it and testing different ideas. I’ll keep you posted on our progress.
Thank you!

One of my goals for this new quarter is to publish a centralized resource page for our listeners, aiming to consolidate essential information into one easily accessible location. With the combined efforts of our Ambassador Team, I've drafted a content list and outline, and I'd love your feedback. Check out the post here and suggest additional links, keeping in mind the need for a concise and user-friendly page. This will be a substantial educational asset for listeners, and your input is important!
I created reflective spaces for members and listeners that showcase the depth of our caring community: one where vulnerability is met with understanding in “One thing I've been afraid to share…” and offering insights into the heartfelt motivations behind listening in “I listen because…” These threads are powerful. I invite each of you to visit them after reading this update and leave encouraging replies for those you resonate with. And if comfortable, share your story, too. You, no matter member or listener, and no matter what part of the journey you’re on, are an inspiration to someone.
I also wrote a post defining microaggressions and how they affect the LGBTQ+ community. If you don’t know what that word means, it’s an incredibly important thing to be aware of in how you communicate with others: learn about it here.
Lastly, I will be hosting new member sessions at the beginning of each month (here).
And the Welcome Committee Team continues to invite listeners to apply to help us greet new members 1:1. If you’re a Verified Listener, you can apply!

In academy news, CDM program updates were completed in March! These changes have been long worked on and are finally in place! Some changes include a 12-week default timeline, fewer coursework posts, and changes to practicum and Honors, the path to graduation is now more streamlined. Thank you to @SoulfullyAbutterfly and @Clarisse29 for all their help in implementing these updates. Existing trainees have been successfully transitioned to the new system. We've also introduced new incentives for all Academy Mentors under the Monthly Mentor Reviews Highlight Initiative, including milestone certificates to recognize their dedication.
Exciting things are happening on the teen side! Mindful Minutes Hosts now have additional rewards for consistency, and a new application process is in place, we also added more sessions for teens to attend. Check out the updates here. Additionally, The Building Virtual Café series has wrapped up, but there’s still time to submit nominations for our café menu and help finalize its name, details here!
On the workshops front, the Conquering Worry series has been completed but you still have time! Participants have until April 7, 2025, to complete their requirements and submit the necessary forms. More info here!
I hope Ramadan went well for all who participated and Eid Mubarak!

March was the month of Self-Harm Awareness Week, Bipolar Support Week & Celebrating Tiny Triumphs as part of the March Forward Challenge in the Group Support. A huge thank you to the entire community for their compassionate care, support, and participation in these events to spread awareness, celebrate each other’s milestones, and encourage each other to keep moving forward.
Also, we introduced two new initiatives:
New Listener AMA Sessions w/ @ASilentObserver and @Heather225 to support and answer any questions of our new listeners.
Circle Sessions to continue the circle-themed sessions on reflection, kindness, Self-harm recovery, and Eating Disorder support. We are looking for all the help to host these sessions to make it a consistent source of support and empowerment for each other in the group chats.
In other news, we onboarded @kieran000 as the Group Support Mentor Leader for the Always Here initiative to scale up the support in the Support Room Chat.

During this month, the updated Content Development and Marketing (CDM) Academy Program was launched. It features several updates to the curriculum as well as practical experience exercises.
We also launched the One Line a Day journal feature, inspired by the One Line a Day challenge which has been ongoing for 2 years. Journaling no longer has to be overwhelming, and can offer many benefits so we encourage everyone to give it a go.
We are in the process of creating new community/group structures for more therapeutic experiences. These structures will connect different site features for learning more about and practicing wellbeing as well as provide opportunities for flourishing. Stay tuned for more on this front.

We have a lot of growth going on right now. enigmaticJet797 became PA for AE, so we look forward to seeing what they accomplish! LCT has increased their requests by 30+, which is amazing! LCT has a new PA, InsightfulPhoenix, who has been doing brilliantly so far. The team has been working diligently and completed 62 coachings in total for the month of March. The Care Team took exactly double the number of requests in March than they did in February! They completed their refreshers this month and the team is always growing, so feel free to fill out the application here. We are currently looking for PAs for Care Team and Safety Team. If you are interested, please contact me at @evelynerose. Thank you!

March was a month of awareness and support in our forums, with meaningful discussions on Women’s History Month, Self-Harm Awareness, and Bipolar Awareness. We celebrated the strength and achievements of women, shared inspiring stories, and reflected on the importance of gender equality. We also created safe spaces for conversations about self-harm, offering encouragement, coping strategies, and reminders that healing is possible. In recognition of Bipolar Awareness, members shared their experiences, broke down misconceptions, and supported one another in navigating the highs and lows. Throughout the month, our community engaged in thought-provoking discussions, personal reflections, and mutual encouragement.
As we move into April, we want to share an important update—this month, we will be merging the Young People of Color community into the Around the World community to foster a more inclusive and globally connected space.
We are currently looking for new additions to join our Communities Leadership Team as Project Agents. There are currently four focuses available for you to choose from: Events, Engagement, Community Building and Leadership. The application form and full details of what we are looking for can be found here.
A friendly reminder for all forum supporters, community mentors and community mentor leaders are asked to fill out the Subcommunity Leadership Check-In Form for the month of March so we can keep updated on what’s going on in your team and roles and see how we can offer our assistance.
Lastly, if you notice or experience any difficulties while using the forums, please help us to track and report any bugs in this thread. A gentle reminder when reporting bugs or issues, please give as much detail like time and location as to where it was experienced and include screenshots or any error codes so we can properly investigate it. Thank you for your continued support and here’s to what the new month brings.
The “I listen because” link doesn’t work either.

Hi everyone! 😊 ❤️
Many thanks for the community update as well as all for all of the hard work in the front of the house as well as the back!
Hi H! 😊 ❤️
I always enjoy reading your forum posts. Not a bad one in the bunch! Wooo-hooooo! 😊
For me, this month, I found your "One thing I've been afraid of" post to be a bit extra special. It reconfirmed my beliefs that sometimes you just need someone to ask, as you got a lot of responses. Just asking that open ended question to another can give them the freedom to finally share something that has been troubling them.
Many times all we need is someone to show up, to care and to simply ask and even questions like "how are you doing"? And followed up by "I mean, how are you doing, as in how are you really doing"? If you show that you care, show that you are giving someone the time and space to express themselves it can be quite fascinating to hear what is on the minds of others. You can find out things that you never knew and can see in retrospect how you wished you had been there for them all along/had asked that question sooner.
I just read the post on Micro aggressions. It's truly a great read and one that I feel applies to everyone and everywhere around here on the platform. It's comforting to know that Administration has their finger on the pulse. It's comforting to know that Admin. understands passive aggression, thinly veiled snarky comments, thinly veiled threats and "pot shots" no matter what the root cause may be.
I enjoy knowing that Admin. understands what the "back handed compliment" means, understands the concept of baiting and goading and is able to dig deeper and to consider the intentionality of it all. I like how you mentioned using "but" in the sentence and how it negates everything that was said before it.
For me, I love humor. One of the 7 cups core values is *have fun and keep your tank full*. Humor can bring others comfort, add a bit of levity to the situation. It can lighten the mood, bring joy to one another and leave everyone feeling pretty darn happy from time to time.
Having said that, it's good to "know your audience" as well as to consider that our communication here is text based and so much is missing from the interaction when telling a joke, playful "picking" or being light hearted. Other forms of communication are missing (body language, tone, voice inflection, cadence, facial expression, etc).
For me, personally, the only difference here in me on 7 cups versus real life is my level of humor (I try to be a bit cautious as to not offend others should they be unable to see the good intentions). I am not easily offended, pick up pretty quick on what is meant to be simply funny. I give others a wide berth and enjoy the attempts at humor.
So......some things that I have witnessed here on the platform, to add to the list of "micro aggressions" is saying something to someone followed by a period for punctuation; something highly negative. Then in another line of text saying "just kidding". Saying "just kidding" doesn't always negate what it was that was said and the damage has been done. Some times, things said in jest are truly meant. Over use of this "just kidding" tactic from the same person, after highly negative comments shows the true intentions of another and the intentions are to demean, devalue, to be judgmental with out having to face the consequences of doing so. Weak bully!
Sarcasm. I hope that everyone will use this judiciously. Sarcasm is societies way of allowing someone to vent, let off a bit of steam, a release valve so to speak, in a socially acceptable way. Over use of sarcasm and when consistently directed at certain individuals is abusive and again, is the work of the weak bully and especially in the public areas. A little bit of sarcasm goes a long way folks!
Again, many thanks everyone! 😊 Spring has sprung 🌱 ! I'm grateful for the warmth ahead just as I am grateful for all of you!
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
