May 2025 Community Update!
Dear Community,
I hope you all are well! It is already May. My twins are coming home from college and are now already juniors. The time is flying by!
We’ve been primarily focused on the local support section (7cups.com/local) and making a lot of app updates. I know we have a lot more work to do on the latter. Thank you for your patience. A big shout out to @Hope and the teens for hosting a lovely meal and discussion. Check out the menu here.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, then thoughts/ideas/criticism are very welcome on my way of the river post. I’m rounding this spiral again and trying to tighten up my thinking and explanations. Any and all feedback is very welcome!
I appreciate you all and am thankful for each and every one of you!
Best,
GlenM

Spearheading our community's welcoming spirit, the phenomenal Welcome Committee has outdone itself once again. We welcomed 3941 new members in March - that’s several thousand brand new people personally greeted by someone from our community within their first day!
We want to keep reaching more people month over month, so if you are a Verified Listener (or on your way to becoming one), I would love for you to join us. Details here.
For those who participate in the Exploration Garden, we are making plans to preserve its long-term sustainability and make it even better in the process (see the announcement here).
And lastly, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you all for your continued patience and support of our community. We understand the frustration that can come with waiting for updates – be it a report, a bug fix, or anything else – and we want you to know that we truly empathize. Our small but dedicated internal team works tirelessly to address everything as quickly as possible, but unexpected challenges do arise and require our immediate focus. Please be assured that there's a significant amount of work happening behind the scenes, which can sometimes stretch our resources. Most importantly, please know that we hear you. Your concerns are important to us, and even if immediate action isn't always possible, they inform our priorities. Our shared goals of building an emotional support system for all and caring for everyone who comes to our Cups family underpin all our efforts, including those that might cause delays. So, on behalf of our small team, thank you for your understanding and for making us feel so lucky to be sharing this life-changing mission together.

Our Conquering Worry Workshop Series came to an end with 9 users completing participation in the entire series. The series posts are still available, but the certificate is no longer available. You can view the certificate recipients for this series and previous series master posts linked here.
On the Academy Front, we had new additions to our leadership team! @hopefulSmiles6137 joined us as an Academy Project Agent, focused on the Academy Awards. You can view his very first awards post here! Additionally, 10 new academy mentors joined our Academy Leadership Team, focusing on CDM, LDP, and QLP.
One of the most exciting developments in April has been the Grand Opening of our Teen Cafe, called ‘Cups & Comfort’, everything picked, recommended, and voted by and for teens. @Soulfullyabutterfly designed it all from scratch and created this incredible menu! We had two grand openings on the teen side where teens and Adult-teen listeners came together to order from the menu!
Obs
April was dedicated to Stress Awareness Month, and we appreciate everyone who participated, shared their strengths, and supported one another in our discussions about stress. Looking ahead, we will organize Teen Mental Health Awareness Month during the first week of May. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements and further details.
We also organized a Verified Listener Campaign to support and guide listeners in achieving Verified status (✔). The Verified Listener badge is a distinguished mark of proven listening abilities within our community. Becoming a Verified Listener is the ideal next step if you aim to enhance your listening experience and gain community recognition. Explore this post to discover how to quickly and easily become verified.
We continued to strengthen our leadership within Group Support by welcoming seven new Room Supporters and additional Chatroom Moderators. Your ongoing dedication and encouragement in supporting our community are highly valued and appreciated. Let's continue to prioritize mutual care and support as we navigate our healing journeys together.

I enjoyed joining the teen cafe opening this month and creating the menu was a very fascinating process due to the creativity of our teen community. In terms of events, we have several exciting new experiences to be launched soon.
This includes a new therapeutic experience structure which combines the strongest features on 7 Cups. If you have previously participated in a closed group Huddle or generally find connection and learning important in your wellness journey, this new experience is for you! You can expect an announcement for this in early May.
We look forward to sharing more events and experiences with you!

As April comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who joined us in recognizing and celebrating important causes throughout the month.
From showing support during Autism Awareness Month to engaging in conversations and activities for Stress Awareness Month, your participation helped create a space for education, empathy, and encouragement within our community. Whether you wore blue, shared resources, attended events, or simply checked in on a friend—you made a difference.
A friendly reminder for all forum supporters, community mentors and community mentor leaders are asked to fill out the Subcommunity Leadership Check-In Form for the month of April so we can keep updated on what’s going on in your team and roles and see how we can offer our assistance.
Lastly, if you notice or experience any difficulties while using the forums, please help us to track and report any bugs in this thread. A gentle reminder when reporting bugs or issues, please give as much detail like time and location as to where it was experienced and include screenshots or any error codes so we can properly investigate it.
@GlenM
hope you have a nice time at home with your twins.
very true that what’s behind the scenes goes without consideration. The disclosure of what may be perceived as a corporate organisation, for what it is. A small team working hard to provide the best services that many find incredibly valuable. Seems insignificant disclosure but is anything but.
Appreciate the understanding of frustration some may express. Simultaneously appreciate all the effort that goes into maintaining this site by many caring and giving humans.
@GlenM
thanks so much for your contributions to 7 Cups and for making the 7 Cups Community a great place to be, well wishes!
