Mid-September: Updated Dashboard Design & Goals Box

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 exciting updates to share with you!

1) Goals box added to dashboard!

We talk a lot about goals at 7 Cups! Having goals is a very helpful way to keep ourselves on track and work towards something we want to achieve. To this end, we will be adding a goals box to the listener and member dashboards. You will be able to log a goal and pin it to the top of your dashboard, sort of like a sticky note! You can update the goal at any time. Check out the screen grab here:

2) Dashboard updates!

We will be updating the main 7 Cups dashboard to match the new site design which is currently on the sub-community pages. Yay! I dont have a screenshot of this but will provide one as I have it.

The big change with the dashboard will be the format. Right now, there are 2 columns of information on your main 7 Cups dashboard. The path takes up the most space. We will be moving to a 3 column dashboard that will shrink the size of the path and add additional content to your page in an organized third column. See the screen grabs below.

Member dashboard:

I am excited about these updates!! I am not sure on the exact timing that they will go live, howver, plan for sometime next week (week of September 18). I will post updates in this thread.

Please share your ideas, feedback or comments to this update here!

Thank you!

@Laura

I really like the goals concept -- I think it'll be a good addition to both the Listener and Member sides. This way the goals stick around (literally) instead of being thought up once and disappearing (like they might have if they were something on the Progress Path, for example). The new dashboard layout looks nifty, too!

@Laura

A change like this was certainly needed, there was something about the formatting that didn't feel right but this should be pretty convenient and smooth.

I think that the goals will be really helpful! I love that they also highlight what the clients will be able to do once the goal is reached! Thank you!

Are the goals public or private?

This looks interesting. With an eye to safety, I am wondering, Like AffyAvo, would this be public or private? Trolls can be listeners too and this could be used to abuse and harass in some circumstances. Maybe an option to "share only with these people:" in order to create safe support groups? If I select a new listener, I am not sure I would want to share my goals with them right away.

@Laura this sounds great to make people aware of their goals. Some people may find this valuable and some may prefer to opt out. Is it possible to have this as part of the drop down menu "Show Goals"? Then even if someone is gungho they may be able to take a break from goals and go back when they are ready.
