Feature Update: Phased Chat 2.0 System
Hi everyone! As you know we've been making some updates to our interface, starting with the feed, then the headers and now the chat interface.
Today is the start of a 2 week phased update to the chat system for the site. The chat system powers the chat page itself, 1-1 chats, group chats, how members and listeners are connected together, and many other parts of the site. The new system has some UI changes and many functionality updates behind the scenes that have been requested for a while (e.g. the ability to refresh a group chat page!).
Initially, you should not notice much change apart from the chat list/inbox on the homepage which has been refreshed. Over the next few days, the updates that are rolled out should be invisible to you and you shouldn’t notice any interruptions or changes. If you do spot any functionality bugs, please do let us know.
It will be later in the process (e.g. next week) when the UI changes will become more widely available. At that point, you will be able to choose which chat system you use (v1 or v2). Once we are happy that the new system is stable, all users will be moved over to the Chat 2.0 system.
We will share more details about the upgrades and new features available in Chat 2.0 very soon.
Note: if you are having any issues, we recommend updating your web browser to the latest version

@Heather225 I went in the Listener Support Room and also member rooms after loading this new chat system and this set up is exactly like back in the older days in chats..
I will adjust not a problem but sadly this is just really bad in the rooms .
Having to click on the top right and then getting kicked out of the room and not seeing who is entering the room to welcome them until they send a message/comment.. :( ..
The header is gone :( you now just basically have a empty looking room and wait to see people type a comment/message.
It's cool we either adjust or we leave the site totally our choice .
So confusing for so many who struggle with changes and much more.
Like I mentioned this looks like old school chats which went fine just not as professional as you all had before .
My take on this ..Thanks for everything and everyone working to do what is best.

I did revert back to the old chatroom setup until we are totally on the new set up. I so wish we could keep it the old way.. you can see the room and the group rooms to the left and so much more .
I am using a 17 inch laptop and I really have no clue how those who use the app do it lol I am just not that smart and not able to see much either but kudos to all who use the app.

Im with you certainly! I'd like it the old/ current (since I'm not switching till I *really* have to when there's no option lol) way also! Way more convenient, simple and accessible! 😮❤

Noticed that it's still a little glitchy when people enter rooms
I see no way to leave listener ratings or feedback in the 2.0 chat interface. Am I blind? It's not under the triple dot menu where "end chat" has been inconveniently stuck.
Overall, the 2.0 chat interface is a step back from the 1.0 interface.

Hello Heather. I'm a long standing Listener (almost 5 years) ...and I use a Laptop not a phone for all my 7cups work. In the last week, I have not been receiving ANY notifications ...usually I can receive several in any given day. I realise that this may not have anything to do with the new Interface ..I'm no technical expert at all so I like things simple to use and to understand like most people of my age group....but maybe you can tell me if the notifications can be restored. I have searched for two days to find access to the technical support for Listeners...but it seems to have disappeared ... I'm sure there used to be a technical support link. Can you please advise as to how I can restore receipt of notifications ..or direct me to a link on the site where I can raise the matter with someone else who can help me achieve that. sorry to hear you're having notifs issues! here's the link to submit a support ticket. you can use the product (bugs) selection and be sure to leave a detailed message outlining the problem!

Hi Heather. Many thanks for your kind response. I will follow the link you have sent and hope that the issue can be resolved asap. I can only really provide the same basic information I sent to you regarding the loss of my incoming notifications....but maybe someone can restore them from that

I seem to have found a new bug. When I click on the chat bubbles at the top of the page, it only takes me to Noni. Ironically I've just seen a thread saying that she's (Noni) is being reintroduced.
@mytwistedsoul @glenm Same! Clicking on the chat bubble used to show a list of recent chats and group room options, but is taking me directly to Noni now.
@mytwistedsoul - We can click the three dots in the corner of the Noni chat to choose "Select a chat" to get the old menu for now, but it a bit cumbersome
@wontwakewontsleep Thank you! It is cumbersome I agree with you on that. It also seems that people are limited in the amount of chats they can have with Noni so it seems rather odd to make that button go to just her alone. It seemed to make more sense the way it was.

Just wanted to let you know that my notifications on the website have lost all color. They used to be color-coded (yellow for forum upvotes, green for forum mentions, etc.) before, but now they're all just blue.
I don't know if this is intentional or some glitch, but I hope you guys get the color back, it was really helpful when going through lots of notifs.

Notification colors are definitely important!
I think this one's a glitch, have seen some others experiencing the same issue.

New issue. When I click the chat bubbles at the top of the page I get this
To access any of my 1-1 chats I have to click the home button
I have other issues! 1. When I click on a profile and go back to chat I am surprisingly muted. 2. For a member, it’s super complicated to post a review for a Listener— they have to click on the three sots, close the chat, and then review.
What I meant was dots not. Sots.
