Site Design Updates Live Now
Hi everyone,
We have updated our site design templates to make sure they are up to date. This site update will only be available on the web versions so you may notice several changes in how everything looks!
One key change with the design templates is our General Request queue for listeners - we have switched to yellow instead of red for the banner color for a higher chat request count.

Why can't we see if we have a message at the top of the screen as a listener or member? It's a pain having to go look for them. Why would anyone want to take on more than 1 chat anymore. We could just hit the envelope before? Also Why don't the messages show with the gold bell at top. We have to search for those now too? I can't erase them either. Sorry to complain but messages are going to get ignored and memos will too.

I agree, there is no message envelope icon on top bar and message is getting ignored, sometimes I can't find if someone messaged me, what is the point to go with difficult process to check if someone messaged you,
They should remove this cup logo from middle and add message and notification icon aka bell and envelope

I would like to answer your interesting questions about "Why would anyone want to take on more than 1 chat anymore".
An actual real-time chat means that you are sitting at your laptop for a while. Some members are slow to chat, or just disappear for a while (they went to make coffee and don't bother letting you know, for instance). This is why I prefer to let folks know that I am available at a certain time of the day, because that is the part of the day when I can happily give my time and not feel hostage to a slow chat. That way, I usually can deal with up to four chats at once, particularly with repeat users I have spoken with before. Also, if I am interrupted bye a door bell or a phone call, I usually message a "BRB 5 mns" so they know there will be a wait.
Hate to say it but I agree with Wendi.
So we've decided to announce things with a ring tone. That's great except back to back ringtones trigger me. I was in a group chat with my family when we got the message my mother was dieing. My phone didn't stop. Also same group chat to let us know she quit eating. Same group chat to let us know if we wanted to see her one last time we needed to leave asap. She died when we were on the way. Please also keep in mind we have deaf people who won't hear that and they have a hard enough time keeping up as it is. Thanks
Hey @Cancun, I don't get the ringtone, after I disabled it in the settings area a week after I joined cups hehe. Perhaps you can try disabling the sound preferance in your settings page also? Hope this solves atleast one of the problems. ❤

@SoulfullyAButterfly So where do I find the option to search for long term listeners? Is this something that has been removed? The bright yellow "Considering Therapy" has to go. Then again there are plenty of changes that need to be made at this site that never will.
So far, not a fan. On mobile, notifications and alerts are awkward to get to and it's more difficult to see them if there's more than a handful. On desktop, I am uncertain if it's just me or the change made it worse but I cannot make out the number.
Form flags no longer show up on the posts, making it more difficult to deal with them.
I would have hoped a change would have at least dealt with issues, but deleted threads are still showing up.
Cannot scroll down/right sude if notifications cut off.

We can enjoy any path or choose. But, the cover page keep getting repeated. which is like senseless. I have no right to speak. I could be wrong or not understanding its main thing.

Not a big fan of the update either. I wasn't planning on staying anything, cause everything takes time for me to used to anyway. But there are things that makes this site less inviting for me.
Main issue for me is the header row. No notifications, no info about messages, and no links to the chats, community anymore. You have to click the three lines for any of that. Not a big thing, yeah. But with some serious cognitive issues, one of the perks this far has been everything in full view. Having an option for that at least would be nice, cause it's messing with my anxieties big time, constantly clicking that button to know anything.
