Navigating loneliness
In a world where we're always linked to others, it's completely normal to feel really lonely sometimes. Feeling lonely isn’t a sign that you’ve done something wrong; it just shows that you’re really wanting more genuine, heartfelt connections with people instead of superficial conversations. Sometimes, this isn’t possible for different reasons, and feelings of loneliness can become worse, especially after things like breaking up or moving to a new place.
Below are some suggestions to navigate through loneliness
Create a daily habit: Pick a simple activity, like taking a walk in the morning or having a cup of coffee, to help keep your day steady.
Practice speaking kindly to yourself: Instead of being difficult or harsh, talk to yourself the way a caring friend would.
Start with simple, friendly moments: smile, greet a neighbor, or chat briefly with a cashier.
Try to get back to activities you used to enjoy, whether alone or with others, that you might have stopped doing before.
Try volunteering: Helping out with a cause gives you something to focus on, making it easier to feel comfortable around others
Think about getting help from a trained counselor or therapist. They can create a safe place for you to work through feelings of deep sadness, loneliness, or big life changes.

Seeking Help
Mental stress can cause us not to be able to see the good things in life and lead to excessive rumination or worries, which can result in serious health problems. If you have serious, long-term problems with negative thinking and feeling depressed, see your doctor or talk to a therapist if they are related to any mental challenges.

@amiablePeace77 I don't feel lonely at all. I actually love being alone and I can be happy and at peace when it's just me. I don't feel lonely or sad. Just quiet, calm, and peace to be and think. 🥰
@YourCaringConfidant I was going to say that, it's not loneliness as such, sometimes there just might be a heaviness present..
A big component is balancing out responsibilities vs fun. When I do that, the time gets filled and it's mostly a good day.
I'm used to people take take taking. When I'm alone, I have the freedom to be myself, be vulnerable, be mad, be sad, whatever it is, without being made to feel I should be happy 24-7 or have to entertain them.
I don't mind the odd chat (sometimes the odder the better) but I still find huge judgements are made, when I don't conform to someone's perception of how people should be.
@ScrabbleBrain You said, "When I'm alone, I have the freedom to be myself, be vulnerable, be mad, be sad, whatever it is..."
This. 💯 Except I'm honestly not sad being alone. I have a family member who doesn't get me. She thinks me loving to be alone is "isolation" and views it as a "dark" thing. But for me, I truly find happiness in my solitude and I don't feel alone. I have my days I choose to be around people but then I notice I am quickly drained. Some people just crave people interaction and need that and some have learned to find peace. I've been this way a very long time. Maybe it's because I'm a ♊️. I don't know, but it's me. Everyone is different and I just wish people would embrace that. At the end of the day we are who we are... and the truth is sometimes I'm more "lonely" being in the presence of others than by myself. Never lonely by myself though. Don't know if that makes sense. Lol.
@YourCaringConfidant You always make perfect sense, which is why I love talking to you :)
Yea I wish people got to know themselves better and looked inwards instead of clinging to others and suffocating them because they have no idea on their identity or interests..
I just go with the moods, whether solo or not, it's ever changing, I accept that. Life is a lot, day to day..
I also get how being around others is taxing, especially if they are not self aware, sometimes conversations are repetitive and go nowhere..
Sometimes it's not even back and forth, it's one to two words and I think, I'd rather be off doing what makes me happy than stuck with you, because you're bored and are not making the effort to stimulate my brain.
Or sometimes advice is sought out, over and over, they are aware of what to do, but cannot be bothered, yet still ask, arghh!

So, there's 100% nothing wrong with wanting to be around others and enjoying their presence... I totally get what you're saying and I agree. I do think sometimes people get so wrapped up being with others that they lose themselves and don't know how to adapt when things get uncomfortable or when they don't have that person. It's why I'm big on never putting my identity into anyone-- not my husband or my kids. ❤️
We're on the same wavelength, 🧠. I hope today is a great day for you!
@YourCaringConfidant Honestly you made it a whole lot brighter, so I thank you, compared to the other stressynessness. I hope your day is smoother than headachey too :)
