When was the last time you felt completely present, free from interruptions and hurried? Did it make any difference in how you perceived the world around you?

@amiablePeace77 I guess I feel completely present and content most of the time (except theese past few months, but there are always gonna be challenges along the way) feeling present helps me to relax, smile more, and connects me closer to God and my family here at cups 💗💗

@Tinywhisper11

I agree with you that there will be always challenges along the way for everyone. I hope though you will feel much better very soon. Good that you find refuge in God and comfort in 7cups.

I'm not sure I can remember that far back. 🤔

It sounds like you could benefit from some time out, just some time for yourself!

Deep breathing helps me to stay in the present. Here is a video from Jon Kabat Zinn which I find very helpful

i think it was maybe two days ago, when i was reading. and yes, that really helps not to be tensed even for a little while.

@daydreammemories

Reading is a great way to relax! It's important for our bodies to de-stress regularly so they can function well.

Sometimes during the night I feel that way, but it doesn't last long at all.  It's a great feeling.

I agree, feeling free and relaxed is wonderful. When negative thoughts arise, they will impact our whole system. Using the STOP technique and practicing acceptance regularly can help to feel better. Sometimes the circumstances we are living in have to be adjusted as much as possible, so we have a healthy foundation.

Oh the joys of being sick and retired! When one is low on energy, there is of course a lot less to do or think of, because others do a lot of it for you. I am blissful  when I am about to fall asleep, whether at night or in the afternoon.

Make any difference? I wonder if the answers will vary according to age or cultural background

@Fradiga

Glad that you can take a nap whenever you need it to support your condition.

I believe different cultures/societies perceive and define stress in a different way.

In Japan, stress is often linked to a person’s sense of ikigai their reason for being. If a person loses sight of their ikigai, it can lead to feelings of disillusionment, which are viewed as a form of stress. In contrast, Western contexts typically frame stress around a person’s inability to meet personal goals, such as work performance or relationship satisfaction.

Yes, this "ikigai" is a famous Venn diagram too. It is a great life balance to have and it might put too much pressure on those who do not have a way to attain it.

I love this. It sounds like you are surrounded by people who love you and care for you and this gives you security and peace.

That's a beautiful thing.

@amiablePeace77 8/2019 was the last time I felt complete and truly present for the past 19 years. I lost that in January 2026. For those 19 years nothin’ could come my way to harm me. The world was full of love, sunshine and happiness till the day it was all taken away.

@eternalHero77

I can't even imagine how desperate you must have felt on that day. I do hope though that you will find happiness again.

I believe you meant January 2025 or another year?
