I think of those begging and am a believer that we should give to anyone who begs.

@purpleTree4652 generosity is a virtuous activity no matter how much or little we are able to give.

@soulsings I believe no one should do without regardless it be food, clothes or just someone there to Chat to. I can’t help everyone but I try my best to help when I can.

As just one person in this world, how can we contribute to create a better future for all of the children and also for the adults too?

I like to contribute my bit into making this world a better place through initiatives within my reach. For example, I donate food and clothing, I giveaway a lot of books when I can, I plant a seed every year, etc. Through this I believe I'm doing the least I can for a better future for children and adults alike.

I would try to make this world better by doing small daily acts of kindness, being a safe, empathetic and a gentle person for others. I choose compassion even when it’s hard.

Get organized with others who are also just one person so that you are many persons working together towards the same goal of making the world a better place for all.

Knowledge is power.

To make the world a better place, we need to understand it better and listen to the rest of the world. Find media sources from other countries which reflect their local needs and viewpoints (not media which is a branch of your own country's media which reflects your own country's viewpoint about that country) in your language to see events from other viewpoints, including what happens in your country from an outsider's perspective.

For example, state-owned Iranian news PressTV publishes about local and world affairs from an Iranian perspective in English and French. Despite Iran having been recently bombed by the US, PressTV recently posted an article about why millions of people in the US, the wealthiest nation on Earth, sleep on empty stomachs. The article on food insecurity says, "Native American communities face the highest rates, sometimes over 40 percent." Perhaps not wanting people to starve, regardless of where they are in the world, is a good starting point.

People in the US, where 7Cups is headquartered, and Canada can learn about the Indian Boarding School/ Residential School systems, what they are, where they were, and their lasting impact on Indigenous Peoples who were taken from their parents and kept there by the churches and governments. In both countries, the last assimilationist ones closed in the early 1990's (a few remain open as museums to teach what happened within them), meaning people alive today in their 30's went to these institutions. The traumatic impact is still currently happening.

This website is a work in progress, but it contains as much info as it currently has for the entire world to learn about which peoples' Indigenous land and waters they're currently personally living on, as well as which treaties cover that particular land and water. This is very important information to know. Indigenous Peoples are also part of the world. The U.S. Constitution, for example, establishes that treaties are the "supreme Law of the Land" under the Supremacy Clause (Article VI).

It's ultimately an empowering thing to listen to outside perspectives which match your own desire to make the world a better place for everyone, even if it means confronting some harsh truths when listening to an outsider's perspective. That's how diplomacy is supposed to be done. That's how we build a shared understanding, repair harms, reconcile, and work together for everyone's collective well-being and peace.

@Zeraphim I hear you. That is why I said as one person what can I do because I cannot change the past or present wrongs in the world but those do not have to limit how I am in this moment.

@soulsings I hear you. I apologize for not explaining more clearly. By learning what present wrongs are currently taking place and how we got here, we can learn what we can do better and how to ensure those wrongs don't continue unaddressed. We can organize with others so we're not all alone and can create a more positive impact. We can also cope with our emotions about it along the way. It does not have to steal our peace to care about and support the people around us, as I know you're well aware and in support of, being such a caring person. :) <3

@Zeraphim what I hope is that at some point it becomes apprent tht we all want happiness and we all have that aspiration to cooperate even if it is hidden from someone right now.

@soulsings

Education, early socialization, philosophy.

Also, learning to read oneself over so a question like this one makes sense grammalically.  😊

As just one person in this world, how can we contribute to create a better future for all of the children and also for the adults too?

What a surprising question. How can a "one person" become a "we"

@soulsings Personally there is so much one person can do in this world to create a better future for both children and adults.

1. Be less critical towards others as well as ourselves.

2. As people pass by smile- a smile can go along way

3. see someone crying or in pain offer support call 911 if emergency is needed.

4. compliment a person. Let them know they do a good job, they mean somethin’,

5. Reach out to a neighbor who is elderly, sick or known to have a lot of responsibilities offer to lend a hand.

6. Read a story to a child.

7. if person is blind or elderly assist them to cross the street thereby protecting them from the traffic.

8. see a child alone playing and you're familiar with child and the family see if they will permit you to play with the child or help with their homework.

9. Volunteer to become a big brother or sister.

10. Say hello to someone-sometimes just hearing a kind gentle voice can be all the person needs to be able to get his day started off the right tract.

I could go on but I will stop here.
