University big ticket items fridge tv laptop lol 😂 bedding towels mop broom medications over the counter etc plus the usual things … book bag folders etc

@Shane1945 one of the things I encourage myself to do is proceed with caution. Getting to know someone is like a dance. I do not want to step on their toes if you know what I mean.
Yes I am trying to take things easy BUT....we have texted each other throughout the day every day since we first knew each other. Nothing deep, just day to day stuff. My ex friend and I did that for a long time as well. No one is forcing the other, we are just freely doing it. In suggested we do lunch and he was down with it. Unfortunately he had to cancel fow tomorrow because his GF tested positive for covid and he doesn't want ME to get it. He asked if we could reschedule and that. Is yet another good sign.

Watching a mama cow and her triplets run in a field.
At another point in my life, perhaps with my other friend, I would have expressed displeasure and maybe even have been a bit angry that he had to cancel. This time not. I figure if I show him that I can roll with things like this that we will get along far better as friends. I know for a fact that I was developing an personal addiction to the former friend and that was affecting behavior. I am able to see what is happening and keep such things in check now.
As far as the former friend goes, I have talked to other people that know him and essentially no one is hearing from or hanging out with him, so something is wrong and he is going into recluse mode which I know that he does. Not interested in the things that make him happy, doing God only knows what with his spare time, I suspect drugs. He is crashing and burning and there is nothing I can do about it. At least I know that I am not the only person he has lost contact with. He quit his old job (with nowhere else to go), broke up with his girlfriend and split up with me all within the course of about a month.
