Hi online therapy community!

I thought we could all share a moment we are proud of and really take in this moment, savour it and try to embrace what it taught us. It can be a very uplifting experience to ourselves and those around us.

Do you have any wins or successes to share? Highlighting achievements, milestones or things you are happy about can help boost morale and inspire others that progress is possible.

Feeling better starts with a single message. Check out my profile and reviews.

Satisfaction rather than pride. I'd like to know why listeners are supposed to feel proud for the work done here. When I was a church-lady, satisfaction that all went well was it. I did the job I was supposed to do. Amen.

@Fradiga

Let me try to explain it how I feel about it.

Helping others fills me with joy and satisfaction and I see it as my job here on planet Earth. However, I also feel proud of myself for having overcome so many obstacles, come this far and be able to help others. It's not the pride that makes me have a very high view of myself, it's the pride for still being here to live and to help. Hope this makes it clearer.

Thank you for this post and sharing the picture with a great quote!

Do you have any wins or successes to share? Highlighting achievements, milestones or things you are happy about can help boost morale and inspire others that progress is possible.

Some of the things I'm grateful for to have achieved are having stopped to drink alcohol which is about 34 years ago. I was at a point of giving up my life, yet I made it and made it well in my view 😊. Another thing is having moved to a foreign country which I learned to love and became my dream country despite all the challenges. Giving up smoking and added sugar what increased my life quality a lot (no sugar highs anymore!) and last but not least - maybe the most important thing - joining 7cups to take care of my mental health and do the work I always felt very passionate about.

@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS one achievement that is in the process of being improved is coping with anger.

I can maintain calm around strangers easily, but when I expect family or friends to behave in a certain way and they do not, then I can feel frustration that if not quelled can escalate into anger.

Knowing the warning thoughts and feelings that lead to anger can help me sideline anger before it gets firmly entrenched. I am motivated to do this because when I really let anger take control, I feel miserable. That is well worth not getting angry to feel better.

This is a huge achievement. It really is and you should be so so proud of how far you have come to maintain feeling calm around others that push boundaries. How do you maintain keeping calm?

I have much the same issue but like yourself control it and work hard to put best foot forward.

It is nice to know know others struggle like myself. Thank you. 🙌🙌🙌💕💕💕

Today I'm considering having had made a listener account as a success. It's a small thing but I think it's a small step in the right direction and a better use of my freetime.

@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS. Trigger Warning

I suffered with flashbacks and body memories from sa since my teenage years. I had tried therapy back then it didn’t help. In my 50’s I thought to give it one more try. I found a therapist who was able to help me with this problem. I didn’t even know that it was possible!

Throughout my life there has been many wins and successes.

What makes me the proudest is being an autism momma bear 🐻 . My son was diagnosed moderate on the autism spectrum at age 3. The therapy and work we completed was second to none ….always a team when a child is diagnosed with autism … parents, home therapists, development ped, child development specialists, speech therapy, occupational therapy etc

Aba therapy was not formal in my home it. Became the way we lived even on vacation.

I put a sensory room in my home and I did not like the ABA therapy as it at times negative and too strict … in my home it was always positive experience that was super fun. One of my sons friends was here and saw the sensory room and asked why did he have that room … my son responded you are not lucky like me and have autism. I taught him autism is your super power.

I invited monthly 12 friends of his to my home for flag football 🏈 or movie nights or Christmas 🎄 parties where you have ti go in the woods to find your snacks they were wrapped up as presents lol 😂 lots of snow a few got stuck waist deep in snow or Easter 🐣 finding 500 eggs light up in the dark throughout the woods or minute to win it games or sleep overs and they cooked a huge breakfast buffet worthy and cleaned and mopped themselves out lol 😂 all this to help bridge the gap for Social for my son. It was his play therapy …. The best kind. 💙💙💙💙

I worked in community health so I had connections they taught me colleagues in child development and I taught them too. Perspectives are important. the therapy they recommended needed changing it was archaic and old and very negative.

I started a parent support group in my area that did incredible job of bridging the gap between professionals and parents… workshops, autism camps and parent support meetings.

My son loved soaps seasonal ones so I created a soap business to help fund families who could not afford to go to autism camp. Momma bears were generally ok with diagnosis however dads needed other dads at camp to help them with the tough moments.

My son is brilliant now he is 18 with a 99 average in grade 12 and accepted into engineering at university with many scholarships.

Remember those boys his friends? They have protected him at birthday parties when the music was too loud they requested it lowered so my son could enter and slowly raise the sound he coped much better they also protected him from bullies … and they always seek my sons help for tutoring in physics chemistry and math ….

💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS

I was recently invited to a clinic at Georgia Tech, University of Michigan, and Berkeley for engineering. This has shown me that people do actually appreciate how much work I put into the classes I really enjoy. Although I may not be able to go because of the cost, it gives me a lot to think about. Somebody from the schools looked at my achievements that I wasn't able to see, and they thought I would be a great engineer. The mailed letter is enough to boost my esteem for while. I always thought the grades were all for nothing, but now I feel seen, sort of loved by a complete stranger.
