What helps you to accept a situation you cannot change and find peace with it?
Accepting it as it is, letting go and moving on peacefully instead of keeping myself stuck or trapped in situations I can’t control or change which makes it pointless to keep myself in them.
@akunknown
Good point, thanks for sharing!

No problem at all. In fact it’s my pleasure my friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a bad habit of obsessing over discomfort to the point of exhaustion, hoping there’s some detail I missed that can allow me to change it. Sometimes I have gone to an extreme like moving to a new area just to escape a problem.
When I get to that point where I’ve completely worn myself out, I am forced to accept the situation and that my bad feelings aren’t going away. I’ll let go and try to trust, putting the burden in the hands of a higher power. Sometimes I can do this with a positive attitude and feel a little peace, sometimes I admit it’s with a negative resentful attitude. I’m trying to work on that.
Nothing helps. I just have to pretend it didn't happen and bury it, until it resurfaces again.
@cafedaydreams
Some situations can be truly difficult to deal with, but I experienced what I burry surfaces even stronger. Have you considered to chat with a listener about ways to manage difficult situations? Sometimes just chatting brings up new ideas.
@amiablePeace77
I have brought this sort of thing up with my current therapist, and they've been helping me with it :)

I don't find peace, most of the time. I guess it depends on the situation. I can't seem to let go of of a lot of different issues, and I don't know how to make peace with things and move on. I would love to have the answers and to know how to "let it go."
@thoughtfulmomma I feel this way too. Thank you for putting it out there so honestly. Sometimes I feel very alone with it, guilty that I can’t seem to get there.
I feel frustrated and ashamed sometimes that I can’t let it go like it seems so many others do.
@thoughtfulmomma (Please disregard if I’m way off base.)
I think sometimes it’s harder to let go when you’re someone who is more sensitive to the needs of other people. I sense you are someone who loves deeply and gives a lot to others. Often what we give isn’t returned, and it hurts. It comes naturally to us, so it’s hard to understand why others can’t do at least some of the same. I don’t really know how to reach acceptance with that. But I hope you’ll be patient as you can with yourself, because you seem like a very sweet person. It is natural to feel this. Maybe we’re supposed to strive to accept the present as best we can, keeping hope that our relationship needs will be better met in the future. Know that you’re not alone with it. I’m hoping the best for you. ❤️
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas
Thank you for the kind words, and yes, I think I do wish I was getting back more of what I was giving at times. One day at a time, one breath at a time.

Well, it depends, of course, on the situation, right ? Either your companion announces he is leaving you, or you are waiting for a bus that's not coming and it's pouring out there. Also of it is a recurring situation.
I guess I am one of those people who think: "Well, this is what it is".
What helps you to accept a situation you cannot change and find peace with it?
@Fradiga
Sometimes there is no other way than to accept that things will not change and take action or make the best out of it.
@amiablePeace77
Good conclusion 😄
